He has an insanely low ceiling and we know what he is.  We arent winning with him.  Why not try and develop a qb we spent draft capital on that might be able to trade down the road?

Oh you will see plenty of MC, and I believe it will be with the 2s before preseason week 1.

9.75 is not bad at all. If the cap actually goes up by 4 million next year like it’s suppose to well still have 2.7 million to work on other deals.

Yep and we will have to pay Chatfield if we want to keep him. He is slowly becoming my favorite defenseman, next to Burns.

I don’t want EK I’ll go on record but we aren’t going to be able to resign pesce I suppose i see the thought process. I jus have a feeling EK is going to be a net negative on our team

Orlov was Pesce’s replacement. EK would be for defensive goals.

Yes, and I believe the Canes have given Tarasenko their final offer and he's choosing between the Canes and Ottawa.  Ottawa's offer might be the one that is in flux.

Orlov is the difference, trust me on this one. He could still go with Ottawa, but they have to clear up DeBrincats, first, which is also adding to the delay. I still think Orlov here makes the difference, even if it is a 2 year deal going for the cup.

So you think there’s an agreement in place? link please? lol

I think it is the same verbal agreement that TDA has at the moment, could it change absolutely. However, Don has done exactly what Dundon ask him to do, push the chips in. We are about all in. Let’s see how this shakes out. I’m excited just for Bunting, Orlov, and extending Aho. Everything else is cherries on top.

tend to agree, a good pickup but at a $7.5 mil AAV if that keeps us from picking up a high dollar scoring forward we won’t see a cup next season (and maybe the following season).

Doesn’t matter if the other team can’t score.

  7. Pool party had double hip surgery and did not receive a qualifying offer from Carolina which makes him a UFA. This could explain why he was built like a monster yet boarded like tiny Tim, “please Sir I want some more.”

Just the NHL blocking the TDA deal for right now because they think Carolina is trying to circumvent the cap due to some rule about reacquiring a player within a year.

Unless I’m reading the rule incorrectly, it shouldn’t even apply.

It sounds like you can’t sign a player, then trade him, and then reacquire the same player within a years timeframe with retention. The thing is, Carolina didn’t sign TDA and trade him, they traded his rights and he was then signed by Philadelphia.

It just seems like the NHL is being dicks to the Canes again.

It applies because Philly is retaining 50% of the contract. If we were paying the full amount it would not apply, it only applies because we are getting him at a discount less than one year after trading him.

I'd love to see him back, but his deal can't cost us Brady or Chatfield.

In my opinion, Chatfield is the better defender with more upside, especially speed. Brady faded hard at the end, not sure if he had an undisclosed injury. Pesce, to me was our weakest defender. Ghostbear will command a large payday, so I am not sure we can retain his services. We could be down 2 defenseman.

Against the Bruins Bob was lit up for 6 goals in game 4 and 5 goals in game 6, so he’s not unbreakable. He played his best against the Leafs limiting to 2 goals a game and the Panthers defense played a part in that.

It is this more than anything. We could not maintain a net front presence in game 1, it’s why we didn’t have many high danger shots. This makes Bob look unbeatable, he is not. I expect Rod to make some adjustments.

No other team has Rod BrindAmour. He would get the best out of anybody. We shouldve added more. We already had injuries to our top lines and to do nothing I still think was a huge mistake.

The fact Waddell also never took into consideration how shaky the team is even with everyone healthy and that any injuries to our top guys would be significant for us is mind boggling. Just look at our history, we lose guys in the playoffs due to dirty play.

We are lucky we havent had to face a goon team like the Bruins or the Rangers. Especially the Rangers with their goalie tender. I dont see us moving past them if they beat the Devils.

This team, and some fans, like to talk the talk, but what they have done so far is not good enough. It will never be good enough until we hoist the Cup above our heads. Like I said, Waddell basically said we are going to win it with what we have. So do it, or else we should be looking at another GM that can add to the team when we need him to.

My only gripe about all this, is that we finished with the second best record in the NHL. It’s really hard to tinker with what has worked. Other than Timo, Tarensinko, and O’Reily who could have made instant contributions with our style of play (tight defensively)?
