Yeah this always confuses me too.  I keep reading Brees was WAY taller.  Brees was 6 foot and 1/4, Russ was 5 foot 10 and 5/8, Kyler was the exact same height.  The funny thing is Caleb might not be 6 foot.  USC has him listed as 6 foot and 1 inch, but I keep reading it's more like 6 foot even or possible a little smaller.

The whole narrative has to be adjusted to make us look worse (which I mean it isn't necessary we screwed up plenty as a team).  Young was the same height as a recent top pick, most people had Young as QB1, the Texans wanted Young and inquired about trading up to 1 for him. It's turning into Young was the shortest ever and we reached like crazy for him because Tepper made us.

If young played like he was 6’4” no one would care about his size. He plays like he’s 5’2” is the problem.

Yeah, statistically, Bryce is still an anomaly at the position.   Murray is another.

since 1970, only 30 of the 522 QBs drafted have been 6 ft or shorter.  Most of that 30 number isn't 5'10 guys.

and Kyler and most other short kings are heavier and better built.  Bryce is small amongst the small.  It's really crazy when you think about drafting him #1 and giving up a bunch of stuff on top of it.

Kyler also has elite athleticism and a bigger arm.

That's gonna be tough because Bryce doesn't have the ball placement skills to enable YAC. One step at a time. Bryce needs to first focus on throwing on time, then he needs to focus on throwing catchable balls. Everything else is a luxury at this point.

He already does...ask any DB in the league.

So at this point, the front office and the staff have to do what is best for the team going forward.  If that means we move to a power running attack, so be it.

Wouldn't we need a QB that can play under center for that?

Can I just say…a lot of people are posting these 32nd in the league stats, but not disclosing that our offense was atrocious. The defense was on the field probably 30% more than most teams. Making that number up, but it seems plausible.

A bad offense can make the D stats appear better sometimes though. Other teams offenses played very conservatively against us because they knew if the scored 10 or more that they would probably win.

Then why not try to find some of the positives in his game instead of consistently tearing him down or anybody else that supports him?

Because I see someone that doesn't look like they physically belong in the NFL. I have a hard time sugarcoating that. Nothing against him at all personally though.

The problem with football fans is that there is no middle ground, you are either Josh Allen or Brock Purdy in terms of arm strength. While Bryce is never going to prime Cam but he can make all the throws. you can see it with those opposite hash outs routes, you don't even throw that unless you can sling it because those are interceptions.

The most important thing this off season is fixing the middle of the line so Bryce as a place to step in to

I would love it if Young had Purdy's arm strength.
