in actuality, its not that bad of a contract.. compared to some of the worst everrrrrrrrrr:
Lance Stephenson- Hornets (3 years, $27 million)
------------------------------------------------------------------
DeSagana Diop- Mavericks/Bobcats (6 years, $32 million)
Josh Smith- Detroit (4 years, $54 million)
Eddie Curry- Knicks (6 years, $60 million)
Larry Hughes - Cavaliers (5 years, $70 million)
and finally....
Gilbert Arenas- Wizards (6 years, $111 million)
As a Dubs fan of like to throw the Adonal Foyle and Andrus Beidrins contracts in for consideration.

I don't think Bill would even put this out unless he is truly hearing Greg is willing to make concessions to be on this team... just my opinion. . Bill 2 major points on Greg not being here were if no legal actions were taking against him.. were " Greg's asking price for his services" and "Jerry's level of trust and forgiveness".. 1 or both of these things must be happening for Voth to soften on his opinion. .
My post wasn't knocking Hardy at all. He may very well be willing to make some concessions to come back, I don't know.
I'm saying his trip to the PTO list worked out well for him because even if he does get suspended without pay next season, it'll be at a per game check rate that is significantly smaller than what he would have had to pay this past year.
-
I love Greg Hardy and hope he comes back and plays for the Panthers. He is one of my favorite players and I love that he is insane.
But let's not forget something very important. His trip to the commissioners exempt list was negotiated by the league, the panthers, and Hardy's agent.
Greg could have said you know what I did it I'm sorry give me a misdemeanor and a deferred judgement where it goes away after 3-5 years if I complete sensitivity and anger management courses and stay out of trouble, suspend me six games without pay, and I'll see you in November.
His own agent helped negotiate him getting on the list because he wanted to continue to get paid during this whole thing.
Now if he comes back at a reduced salary of say $8MM or signs a 5 year deal with a team where year one doesn't pay him as much, then that was a smart move because then if he gets a suspension, each game check he will lose will be substantially smaller.
If you don't think Hardy's lawyers and financial people thought of this well before any of us did you are crazy. He wasn't sitting on the curb on mint street just begging to play because he is so black and blue awesome. This so far has gone down perfectly for Hardy.

If your boss likes you enough to give you carte blanche use of his private jet for your children's medical needs, then I'd think he'd at least listen to you when vouching for the integrity of someone else.

But they have to battle the NFLPA as well.. So unless they have hard evidence they will lose..
Only problem is the NFLPA is weak and the NFL is strong.
-
i don't think the NFL can suspend someone for not reporting that his friend has been on coke and visited them. Without a trial, only Hardy's statement can be used against him, nothing the victim claims can be used because it's not proven. I don't recall Hardy saying anything to the effect that he and her had been doing coke.
The black eye argument is weak if you ask me. Someone cried wolf and Hardy was the victim. Not his fault that the media jumped on the person crying Wolf's side.
Again, in my post I said that in order to suspend Hardy, I think the NFL needs the court documents. This includes bench trial transcripts and police reports.
You keep using the word "proof". The NFL is not a government entity. They are a business. They are a business that collectively bargained with their union workforce to give the commissioner the authority to make a judgement call (again, not a proof call, a judgement call) when suspending players for conduct that the commissioner believes to be detrimental to the league.
I am not saying I agree with it, but it's reality.
-
How're they going to prove Hardy was doing coke? I don't recall from the transcripts that Hardy admitted to his apartment being the site of a coke party. If I recall he said she had been doing coke all night. Was it before or after she got to his place?
This is why without a trial it'll be difficult to do anything. Nothing has been proven.
I'm not saying the documents will say Hardy was doing coke. Just that there were illegal drugs either being done at his house, or that someone had been doing them and then went to his house to continue the party. Not to mention I think this whole thing happened really early in the morning which usually means come was involved.
The point is that the NFL can suspend you for conduct detrimental to the league simply for giving them a public black eye. The players collectively bargained for that, and gave Goodell the power to make that judgement call. They botched and moaned but at the end of the day back in 2011 they flinched before the owners did and this is what they get for allowing that kind of control to Goodell.

I don't know what that means, but I like it.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/02/13/nfl-formally-seeks-access-to-greg-hardy-court-file/
The NFL wants pertinent information relating to Hardy's case so that they can have a leg on to suspend him. Even though the NFLPA is a public defender compared to the NFL's F. Lee Bailey, I do think they would have a field day without this.
Disregard the dismissal of charges. That doesn't matter in any way, shape, or form.
What matters is if the NFL gets copies of these previously sealed court documents that show Hardy drinking and partying with a girl who was doing cocaine, and that partying led to a 'probable' physical altercation and communicated threats to that girl, then the NFL WILL ABSOLUTELY suspend Hardy.
The question at that point then is where on the 2-6 game spectrum will he land? One could argue that he should get the two that was made a precedent with Ray Rice. Goodell could then argue fug you its 6 games because your Union lawyers are a joke.
I'm more interested to see if the court overturns the motion to seal these records because the NFL is making the argument that due to the dismissal of charges they are no longer classified as preparatory documents needed to make a case against a defendant.
What's also interesting is that they want access to the transcripts that wouldn't even exist if Hardy's attorney didn't pay to have them done during the bench trial. If my employer thought I was stealing and the only evidence of me doing so was a video I made on my phone, I certainly wouldn't be giving them my phone to use it against me. Of course on the other hand that would give them grounds to say ok then you are hiding something Bye Felicia.
In the words of Jeffrey Lebowski;
"This is a very complicated case Maude. A lot of ins, lot of outs, lotta what have yous."

Whatever happened to sunbunny? I think that was her name anyway.

Anyone who thinks Hardy will play here on a deal materially less than what another team would pay him is nothing more than dillusional.
It is a business..plain and simple.
Money flat out talks... Just like all of you would switch to another company for a material raise.
I agree. I'm throwing out hypotheticals, I don't actually think they will play out that way though.

How about everyone focus less on trying to be the first one to start a thread and do a little more due diligence in making sure what you're posting has merit? It doesn't make you cool to be the first one to break the news - it just means you spend too much time on social media.
RR gets my vote even if he doesn't want it.

He obviously won't play for free or vet min and there's a 99.99% chance he won't be back.
But you can't make light of it if he signed a one year deal to play for say $5MM. For an NFL player in his prime where your future isn't guaranteed, that would show A LOT of humility on Hardy's part IMO.

He also said he went to Hogwarts. He has a persona with the media.
Let's not forget he claimed to eat an entire bowl of cereal without a spoon.
That's just crazy talk.

Question for the semi-finalists:
We had a fake tweet thread posted a few days ago which made everyone lose their panties. If you knew the OP posted without malice and thought the information being posted was true, would you ban the OP or would you do things differently?
Honestly depends on OP's history. Much like the Kraken where a history of bad decisions makes a dismissal of charges kind of a moot point, if the poster has exhibited a history of being an idiot, I'd probably ban. If it was say an SCP or Catman72 or Jackofalltrades that did it you would have to assume they were just trying to break a news story and provide the Huddle with the latest panthers news.

I would like to inform all of the candidates that, due to an anonymous tip, one of the semi finalists is under investigation for possibly deflating zod's balls and thereby gaining an unfair advantage.

No respect no respect
I respect you teeray and would love to have you run as my vice mod, so if I die or can't fulfill the duties of my office you can take over.
We'll be running on the "if you actually use the term 'bae' toward your lady friend then you are awful" platform.
Also free beer in the "undisclosed location" they send us off to everytime there is a credible terrorist threat.

You should know I have Jeremy's ear as well as some scandalous videos from a "Boys Gone Wild" venture that went under. Roaring Riot is actually making a Huddle travel package especially for me for Jacksonville next season. So if only one mod is being chosen here you have some serious competition. If you want my endorsement you need to do something spectacular.
I hacked Dexterity's Huddle account and posted a fake Ian Rapoport tweet in order to make him look bad and get him not just the 24-hour, but the permaban, thereby ensuring that there would only ever be one Dex of any kind on the Huddle.
Game, blouses.

Off-season priorities - #3 Cornerback

Culliver got destroyed in SF's super bowl a few years back, and hates women and gay people.
Not sure if the FO looks in his direction but I could certainly be wrong.
