Speculation my dude.  Which #1 overall picks as a QB has multiple Championships?  I can think of 4 off the top of my head in the past 40 years.  Actually 3* because even though Eli went #1 overall he actually got traded to a different team.

Yeah and the goat was picked like 200 something so we can’t use confirmation bias to make our judgements too early IMO.

I know I'm going to catch a lot of POOOOOOP emojis for this. But when it the last time a 2nd overall pick at QB had such awful coaching staff's his first four to five seasons? He was coached by the affable (laughable) Adam Gase and Matt Rhule; Rhule who probably also set back Joe Brady's career by a good four years, if how we performed offensively following Rhule's departure is any indication.

We now have Frank "The 2nd (Weimar Republic)" Reich, Jim Caldwell, and Tommy Brown. Darnold went 4-2 down the stretch and led us to quite a lead over the Bucs before the offensive line forgot how to block and the defense decided that they wanted to be the only team not to defend Mike Evans. If we defend Mike Evans, we probably win that game.

Now you have to ask yourself, is Year 0 of Frank Reich the year we contend for the Super Bowl? We have re-tooling on defense due to a 3-4 scheme change, we've spent draft picks and cash on QB's every year since 2019 without much to show, and we now have a former top draft pick with an "All-Star Coaching Staff".

I think this is a question of resources. What do we believe we could do with Darnold? Surely he is on the same level as a Jared Goff, who it turns out is more than adequate, turning the Lions around and leading the Rams to the Superb Owl? Surely we won't be wasting the ninth pick on a guy like Will Levis when we have a complete Reformation that isn't too far off from 16th Century Europe on defense to make?

MY PROPOSITION (since everyone here loves everyone elses plans): Fraft Anthony Richardson at 9 and re-sign Darnold for a very reasonable price which would still allow for us to develop the talent base of the team; OR) Trade down in the 1st, nab a later first, another 2nd, and maybe even a 3rd or 4th, take the best guard in O'Cyrus Torrance, the top TE in Dalton Kincaid, and re-sign Darnold to a 1 year deal, and work to see what you have in Corral. There is defensive talent that will be available on Day 3 (looking at you, Coastal NT Jerrod Clark).

Well I certainly hope Frank Reich stays here a LOOOOOONNG time now, because we all know what happened after the Weimar Republic…

Who do you want as a QB?

Player A - Amazing throwing motion. Amazing footwork. Good arm. Amazing accuracy.

Player B - Jumps super high and far. Super fast. Strong. Built like a cyborg.

I kind of want the cyborg when you put it like that. I look forward to having AR get us to the Super Bowl and then because of his size the NFL lets him take a physical ass whooping on live TV and we get screwed again.

The problem with America is that too many idiots want AR-15s.

Don’t start going down this road. I’m not going to let fun pre-draft threads about exciting prospects get derailed because of snappy political one-liners. Not gonna do it.

When a current player hints at new uniforms on social media, then it’s worth mentioning here. Some of you are too much:)

I’m in support of it all bud. People take themselves too seriously like the poo we talk about on here as fans has ANY affect on the team at all. So if we wanna talk uniforms let’s talk uniforms.

New Uniforms are nice but, don’t forget the over all goal should be winning the Super Bowl.

The Panthers off-season uniform discussion is a tale as old as time on this site. Has been since I have been here, and tomorrow will be my second day here.

Type in "anthony richardson vs" into Google or YouTube and watch his game cutups. He can, but he has to learn to be consistent with his mechanics.

If the Panthers built a super star coaching staff made for quarterback development, why not take a homerun swing?

This is my take. For as much as I hear about this stellar staff, why not take a swing for a guy who buy all accounts just needs some good coaching? I’m all in. But I don’t care if it’s a miss because I been a Panthers fan a long time and disappointment is par for the course so why not go for it.

Welcome back brother! Long time no see.

Thanks man. I was not feeling well over the last couple years and went to the doctor and found I had a pituitary adenoma (tumor, non-cancerous, thank god). They removed it and I started getting crippling migraines (never had headaches before my whole life) and it put me in a really shitty place for a long time. I didn’t really do much browsing online, because my phone screen seemed to give me headaches. I hope to be back into the swing of things here daily now that the nightmare seems to have passed. I sure have missed this joint.

I still think the best move for us given our needs, draft spots, money available, and available FA's is this:

    Re-sign Bozeman & Foreman

Sign preferably Carr to a 3-yr deal.....or Jimmy G to a 1-2 yr....and Darnold to a 2-yr deal @$7-8M.  Darnold is the clear backup to protect injury worries, Corral sits and learns.  This QB class doesn't appear to have enough potential for a #9 pick and we can't really afford to give away much more to move up very far.  So unless Stroud falls into our lap at 9 I take a chance with a Vet and use the 9 pick elsewhere

Sign Gesicki, Van der Esch, Dean, Bates, David Long.....get at least 2 of those as massive upgrades.  My #1 desire past QB in FA is Long.  The MLB is the QB of the defense and we have never been the same since LUKE....we have to get that squared up

Use our picks to fill the gaps - since we have QB solved take one of the top WR's or Edge rushers or DL with #9.  2nd rounders go to a TE, MLB, CB, S, OL depending on availability and what we got in FA.  I could see us getting Mayer, Sewell, Hargrove, Carter II, Ricks.....lots of solid talent in what we need in the 2nd round this year.  I'd rather sure up QB in a Vet instead of trading 2nd round picks to move up

I'm not saying all of this is possible....just listing a strategy and a group of possible fits

Jimmy G is trash. Any opinion that involves taking Jimmy G, in any capacity, for any money or any length of time, is moot. No disrespect, but cross that trash off your list.

  10. Team grabs Aaron Rodgers for a one year deal. This allows an offensive head coach with other offensive pieces to ease into a new team. This also allows you the luxury of drafting Anthony Richardson out of Florida and sitting him behind a hall of famer for a year with no pressure, knowing Rodgers is a one year rental before he rides off into the sunset. There are worse scenarios for a draft pick with a rocket arm and questionable decision making to end up than a Rodgers understudy and Reich as head coach. Draft a young stud running back in the second round and committee him with a vet.

These would have been a our next drafts if we had made the Burns trade. Looks like a good way to rebuild a team to me.

    2023: 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5

    2024: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 5, 6

    2025: 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7

Well poo when you put it out all easy to read like that…sure looks awfully good.

  12. I’m certainly not going to pass judgment on Wills after one game, but a lot of the time when a HC gets fired and an assistant is put in his place, players go hard and try to play for him. That certainly didn’t happen today, and in his first game he had to separate a player from a coach while screaming at both and send the player home mid-game. That’s not a good sign but poo happens.

  13. Well I took the Rams -10.5 today and made a quick $1K. This is the 2nd week in a row betting against this ridiculous garbage team that I have made a lot of money. I will continue to double up on them against the spread and will use my $30K in gambling earnings to get some new tires on my truck and maybe a new club fitting. Then when they clean house and get what resembles an NFL QB and HC, I will have to contemplate next season on whether I should be golfing on Sundays or watching football. Right now it’s not much of a decision, the course is surprisingly empty on sundays during football season. Go Panthers!

He sucks ass as a HC. No one could say why he was good besides pointless platitudes like "he's a leader of men" or "he embodies keep pounding". Weirdest huddle crush I have seen in my time posting here.

Matt Moore was a fun huddle crush. So was Jason Carter and Stanley McClover. I’ve been here a long time lmao.

I used to get pissed at it all. Then I kind of quit caring. I'm still interested, but it's more I'm just detached and watching from a distance I guess. I'm just not as emotionally invested as I used be.

This is me to a T. Met up with a buddy at a sports bar to watch games last week that I haven’t seen for a while and he was like dude you used to be kind of a rabid Panthers fan. I told him I still love the team, still watch most games, but the success of the Carolina Panthers no longer dictates how my day or week goes. I compared it to watching an episode of Seinfeld. Enjoy it while it’s on, have a few laughs, and then move on with my day. I don’t sit there stewing over it hours after it’s over thinking to myself I can’t believe George’s girlfriend took credit for the big salad he gave Elaine. I just don’t care enough to let it consume me like it used to.

It’s actually awesome, and the most at peace I’ve ever been as a Panthers fan.

    Hmmm...What happened in 2018? 🤔

In fairness the Panthers have ALWAYS been a mediocre franchise. I love this team but it’s no secret that even when we have a magical season like 2015 it is sandwiched by abject failures. Nothing remarkable aside for a few flare-ups of moderate success. Tepper hasn’t exactly been a gem, but the teams problems date far before his tenure as owner.
