I'm thinking it's pantherfanz or panthermark from clt.com board. He worked for Microsoft. Had a tricked out bus and was at every game cooking up something for anyone who showed up. Good guy.
Yes, I believe it was a bus and I believe his name was Mark. Great Guy and a huge Panther Fan.

Great Video, typical from BluePrint. I loved that when he got the call he was almost in tears.
I'm excited to see him on the field.

Buzz didn't pass away. He is living in hickory.
Then I don't believe we are talking about the same guy unless someone reported his death and wasn't telling the truth.

That may have been the guy I just posted about. Too late for me to edit, I left that out. The van and the timeline sound like there’s a fair chance it is the same guy.
That may be him. He was a great guy. I worked overseas so I really didn't know anyone but he and his family treated me really well and I have an amazing day. Didn't hurt the Smitty destroyed Fred Smoot who was running his mouth about shutting him down.
I met on other huddler at another game but it was just a short conversation and 15+ years ago.

I remember going to the Carolina/Viking game in 2005. I met one of the Huddlers (forget his name) He had a pimped out Carolina Van that was awesome. I joined his tailgate. Sadly, he passed away a year or so later. It was probably the saddest news I ever heard about this place.

So I saw an evaluation on him and they said he was great as Pass-Pro but his run blocking wasn't so hot. IMO learning to run block is much better than having to learn Pass-Pro. Don't know if the evaluation was accurate but saw it.

It's too bad we can't really add new members anymore. Problem is this style forum gets spam accounts bombarding it and it hasn't been able to add new members for the last year plus.
Felt a bit more quiet this draft not gonna lie.
That's Odd I saw a new member just the other day. Not sure if it was a spam account but seemed legit.

I have been doing the boards since at least the old Charlotte.com days.
It was always the first place I would look for news even when I wasn’t interacting.I was a member of that. I think I had a number (33) It was nice, sad to see it go.

Honestly I am happy we didn't. I really think Evans is going to make big jump this year. He showed he's got some hands and is a pretty good blocker. Plus, I think our TE have to be great blockers.

This is a great place with a lot of good people, not many places left like this on the Internet.
I am just glad it is still around and hasn't been shutdown like a lot of other forums.
Those that I have seen may have one or two active topics and only one or two post that day. It's amazing how we can have 10 or more post active any time of the year.

I've waited to post this for a while now. I didn't want to interfere with the Draft. Since we have a couple of weeks until OTAs I thought I would post this.
I have been a member of this forum for a long time, early 2005 I think. I originally was Davethepanther before they rebooted this forum and I had to add the year 2008. What I love about this forum is that no matter what time of year it is, we have content to discuss. I don't know how many of you have visited other NFL team forums but IMO none of them come close to the Huddle. I have been to some other teams forums, NOT ALL, but enough to see that we have more active topics that most forums.
We have lost so many great posters but have also added many. Conversations have changed a bit and less conversation and more I'm right and you're wrong. However, in the end we still are better than most forums I have visited and honestly it isn't close.
Just remember that none of us are experts. Some think so but in the end we are all just fans. At times things get heated but when you make your post remember it is just an opinion, you're not right nor are you wrong. It's just an opinion.
That said, I am making this post to remind you that you are a part of one of the best sports forums on the Net. We all should be grateful that we have a place that we can come to anytime of the year and talk Carolina Panther football.

Evero definitely irks me. Its bad enough im not the biggest fan of his scheme, but yes its gonna take a lot for him to play young players. They pretty much have to show out every chance like scourton did.
Same here. It's frustrating to see veterans that are on the downslope get more reps than the young guys. IMO he should have given Ransom more PT. He seems to be a playmaker and I just didn't see much of him last year.
The only way you are going to improve is to get PT. His lack of faith in a rookie is irritating.

Might wanna be worried about a Kuwatch
We all know that he fell because of where he played and only one year of experience, but I think he's a sleeper and if he can take good coaching he might surprise us. The only thing that will hold him back is EVERO. Evero is not much on playing rookies. He's going to have to play Hunter but after that I would not be surprised if we don't see many of our defensive rookies play.

Is the team really built around the run game? Because the last half of the season we were one of the worst (if not worst) teams in the league running the ball. And the results kindof showed
You're correct but the lack of a run game isn't completely on Young. Granted he needs to complete passes to open up the run game but if our O-Line isn't operating like they should than he's to fault?

I dont even know what that means? How would you quantify "does well"? Because it seems to me he needs just about everything around him to be near perfect just for him to be a top 20ish qb.
If he miraculously turns into a top 10 qb stat wise (which he needs to be imo to earn a new deal) then I would look to adding a stud pass rusher like simmons or stewart in the first
I get what you are saying but this team is built around the run game. He's not going to lead the league in any passing category. I think if he protects the ball and doesn't put us behind in games like he did against Jacksonville and Arizona we'll be alright.
I'm not a huge fan of his but I give him a bit more credit than you do. He's shown he can win close games, and winning is the goal whether by one point or 14 points.

Early 2027 mock has 5 qbs in the first and it legit could be a couple more. Our timing with the young decision is actually lining up nicely.
Having said that I fully expect Bryce to get an ext midway through next year
Bold prediction.
What happens if he does well? Outside of a Top 10 TE we have pretty much every weapon he needs. I know you aren't a fan of his. We will also have a much-improved defense that will keep us in games.

Well I just read another article that said our draft was a B and the worst pick was Brazzell. If he was our worst pick than we should have had a A+++ IMO.

Suck for Manning?
I remember a time when several members were "Suck for Young". Might be hard to believe but there were several members.
I'm not sure Manning is up to the Hype of his name. Seems he has struggled a bit a Texas now and then.

We have a brutal schedule and as they say Any Given Sunday. I do believe everything hangs on BY. He will have plenty of weapons and needs to continue to improve. If he falters than I would hope for a top 5 pick and move on with one of the good QBs coming out in 2027.
I am an optimistic person, so I am looking forward to a good season.

If Freeling comes along and Ickey is healing good id try and deal Walker at the deadline for some more 2027 picks
Two things. Icky will probably not be ready by the time we reach the trade deadline and we are awful thin at Tackle. Trading a good player at the deadline would be dangerous.
UNLESS we absolutely suck and then we're probably talking regime change.

Starting at 1:55 in this video is Kuwatch. He looked skinny on his reel but damn this guy is buff. Looks like a linebacker. I am even more stoked about him now. Though he's a draft pick I believe he's going to surprise us.

Grading the Panthers' 2026 Draft Class
in Carolina Panthers
Posted
Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.
Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft. His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move. It was a no brainer pick.
Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities.
Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed. Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR. Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense. Basically Jimmy Horn with size.
W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart) What a great name. A great value in the 5th round.
Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft. He's most likely a starter sooner than later.
Wheatley A good safety in round 5. Someone who could see playing time.
Kuwatch I love this pick. At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play. His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game. Good coaching will fix this. He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.
All these picks were great value. I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.
Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
