That "hail mary" at the end of the first half was so so telling.  I know the play was to chuck it out of bounds but it looked so fuging weak. We were also only 53 yards from the end zone so we could have taken a shot. I watched Stroud throw a rope about 68 yards in the air to Dell the other week.  It's soo depressing

Young decided to not do any physical drills or throw at the combine. He was 100% healthy.

Smart on him and his camp.

We are cooked and we do deserve better, it’s going to take a long time to recover from this ownership. Heck, we may never recover, but I can’t pick a new team, I just can’t explain it…maybe it’s insanity.

Same. And yes…we are insane my friend.

  3. Like I get the arguments defending Bryce. Line has been poo. Route concepts are predictable, etc.

But Young has a noodle. He’s a mediocre athlete, and probably a poor athlete relative to size.

He’s also not a “maestro” in any way so far.

We spent number 1 on a guy that can’t do all the NFL QB things. Coaches will have to remove plays because he literally can’t execute them because of his lack of raw talent.

I can’t believe the evaluators couldn’t see this in person. Literally anyone can get overwhelmed and swept up in the hype machine.

    This also from Jeff Howe...

The biggest names there will be Ben Johnson, Frank Smith, Kellen Moore and Bobby Slowik, and Johnson seems to be getting to the point where he can pick his spot. The problem for the Panthers, though, is Johnson may not want anything to do with David Tepper and his quick-hook problem.

But Tepper doesn’t have a “quick hook problem.”

I mean if anything he kept Rhule too long. He showed plenty of patience there.

Reich won 1 game this season, and the team wasn’t showing any upward progress. Not sure why this is shocking.

Butthurt coaches and reporters can talk poo, but this firing isn’t a toxic one at all, and not the red flag everyone says it is.

There are plenty of other things to be upset with Tepper about, but having a short leash isn’t one of them.

  5. Like I don’t blame him for making a business decision with our franchise floundering, but to fix the team culture, you need guys who actively aren’t making that business decision, but instead show toughness and team first behavior.

    It’s a pickle.

And I’m assuming so perhaps he really is still hurt. I hope he’s sincere but you can never tell.

  6. All I know is we at least get a chance to see (potentially) something different down the stretch.

The team radically changed with an interim last season, so it could always happen again. Perhaps Young/Mingo/etc have been grossly misused this season, and actually have redeemable qualities.

I hate saying this because somehow this organization keeps finding a new bottom…but it surely can’t get worse this time…right?

No I'm talking strictly pros. Honestly I didn't watch much of him at Alabama, so I really wouldn't even know where to begin discussing that time in his career.

I've seen him give LBs and Safeties moves in the open field that left them standing in place - more than a few times. I've seen him lower his shoulder to get 1st downs. I watched him break 2 tackles by defensive linemen that had him in the grasp last Sunday (on the same play), as the pocket completely collapsed, on his way to a first down run.

He's not Cam but he's stronger than he looks - particularly because he is really small for a QB. He's not Lamar, but he's elusive in the open field. It's ok not to like him, and still acknowledge what he's done and is able to do. And not just make up in your mind that he can't do anything, at all, ever. It's ok. He's gonna be here for at least another 22 games or so, no matter how he plays. Maybe as fans we can support the positives and be optimistic the negatives will improve with time and help from his coaches, playcallers and team mates.

You have a low bar for “matrix” then.

What agenda? I specifically didn’t say drops because the number of targets not caught was 3 and 4, negligible difference. Why is Chuba better this year? He took a big step forward from 2021 to 2022. He’s no different this year than last except that his ypc/ypr are down a lot. Again, how has Chuba improved and become better in 2023 over 2022?

Chubba is noticeably better. He’s bigger. Runs with more power/aggression. His hands have stood out to me too.

However the stats of a back are so heavily influenced by the performance of the line, and that line has been NOTICEABLY worse.

I really hope it is a scheme mismatch. Otherwise, we are much more screwed if everyone just overachieved last season.

What are the odds they bench Bryce for Dalton at this point? Tabor was with Dalton in Chicago

I’d bench Bryce if they brought Eason back.

They probably cut Eason because you can’t have a PS guy making the “franchise QB” arm look that bad in comparison.

If it doesn’t matter why the fug are you replying??

plain and simple Cam was great but he did have a better situation..

    Its really not debatable..

To explain why it doesn’t matter. Thought that was clear.

Cam contributed to his team getting better.

Bryce contributed to his team getting worse.

Now that’s something that isn’t debatable.
