I truly find it amazing that none of you "I got to get this up" folks haven't started a thread on our 1st place Panthers. After 3 weeks of the season, all is well in the world. Everyone in the NFCS is looking up at our beloved Panthers. And there was great rejoicing.

We have nobody serviceable to put in place of horn.
We are going to have to stop letting QBs escape our grasp like we have been if we are to have any hope at stopping the pass with our current DBs.
That's the spirit.

I mean we do have Bouye. The guy has been a good player in this league
Yupperz. He is solid on the outside. With Horn, he would be a nickel. Now he can play out where he is more comfy.
Glad to have him.

Yeah, let's take the most productive player in the league. And limit his opportunities.

I was thinking kinda the same thing. By the time CMac gets back, maybe we have still kept our Mojo. Chuba looked good finishing the game. Royce can help as well. Maybe Brady can keep us cooking?
That, and our schedule is still pretty easy. We may not fall off as much as we may fear.

Thanks for the candid replies. I’ll remain optimistic. Trust he’s got the trajectory and acumen. He’s been highly touted for a reason. We never closed a close game like that ever with a Rivera (or very rarely)
We are going to go for a lot of these. The more we do, the better we should get. Hopefully anywho.

Sam never gave up that victory formation ball. It's his.

The kid closed the game out. Kudos to him and the line on that.

I heard 2 ESPN NFL analysts call the Panthers the number 1 defense in the league without any disclaimers and followed by heavy praise. I'd say we put some people on notice with that win against the Saints.
Kay Adams of Good Morning Football was reading out our Defensive stats. When she finished Cris Carter was dumbfounded. Saying he may have to pay more attention. So we have 1 more convert.

Right? Was he watching the same game we were? What else could you want?
I get that it is getting harder, and harder to find things to complain about. But man, that wasn't one of them. lol

The offense still has to learn the killer mentality. Do you think the Saints with Drew Brees would have taken the foot off the gas? Gotta learn how to finish strong.
We did score 10 points, and gave up 0 in the 4th quarter. I would think that is pretty close to closing the game out. Right?

That wasn't Erving. It was Elflein.
Same story, different names. And all are true.

Good post. I missed it.
You're right. Erving wasn't terrible. After all the whining, belly aching and screams on how he was garbage all off season and preseason that just went on and on and on. He faced a rotation that included Shaq Lawson (70.9 pff) and I saw him pick up a blitzing CJ Mosley (75pff). Erving was NOT garbage last Sunday.
What do you hear from the huddle on Erving? Crickets.
It may be a fluke, but if he shows up again Sunday, it will get much harder to continue that narrative. At that point they probably all point to Pass Rush Win Rate, the participation trophy for D-linemen.Don't forget he had to come out of the game as well. So he is still injury-prone. lol

@CRA doesn't need you White Knighting for him. He's a big boy. He can defend himself.
Oh? And who the fug are you? That's right. Nobody.

Yeah, that was just facts in response to someone saying Matt Rhule doesn’t seem like the type to start something and leave.
so again, Matt Rhule signed a deal to coach Baylor until 2028. 4 months later he signed a deal with the Panthers. Matt Rhule will do what is best for Matt Rhule. It’s what people do.
I don’t think the USC job would be better for him right now. So I don’t see him leaving. But he could hit a window after this year….where he realizes what he does works better at the college ranks and dips before he establishes himself as a meh NFL coach.
lol just facts. You gave 1 fact. lol The rest is just you Yodaing up your imagination.
You don't like Rhule, nor Sam. You have prepared yourself for a Meh type season. And your posting supports that. Hence. Grumpy you are.

Matt Rhule will do what is best for Matt Rhule. That ain’t hate either. That just the reality of it.
If he bails on Carolina it would mean he didn’t have confidence in where things would be headed for him here. Because a USC move wouldn’t be about pay in the near future.
lol Quite the imagination you have there. Just because you try and sound like Yoda, doesn't mean what you say isn't goofy af.

Who cares if he leaves?
He ain't Parcells, Lombardi,Walsh,Landry,Belichick.
He's Matt Rhule the pussy who punts from the opponents 33 yard line.
I'm sure we can find someone to do that.
I'm guessing you are an only child, probably from a broken home. And you rarely heard the word "No". Am I right?

I mean, there are you tube videos up featuring all his INTs from every season.
It's a tough sell for someone to watch them....and for you to then claim they were largely great defensive plays and bad breaks.
Sam Darnold made some really terrible decisions about what to do with the football in NY. The type stuff a NFL QBs just shouldn't do. Which is the knock on Sam. Not his physical talent.
Yeah...One Sam gets excused, the other gets roasted.
Just because you are grumpy, does not mean you have to shove it down the throats of others.
