On that subject, if you are a fantasy football nerd I would draft CMC first overall.  He's about to have a career year running behind Tommy "hit your so hard your mama" Tremble.  I can't wait to see how many TDs he gets.  It's about to be lit up in here.

Poor Sam may only have to throw 20 passes all game and 5 will be to CMC who will take it to the house.

Hell we will be sitting starters after the half because we are up be 7 touchdowns.

Dude, really? I mean really??? Sounds good!!!

I’d love that to happen, he seems like a nice dude and has talent.  I’ve wanted him to succeed very badly.  But I’m hard pressed to find another big guy who runs so soft.  A gust of wind knocks him down with the ball in his hands.  That’s something you either have or you don’t in most cases.  Greg didn’t break many tackles but his hands were soft, velvety paws of magic.

Thomas will probably be TE3 on the roster but I don’t think he’ll play much. Having depth feels good

You have said this numerous times. I have yet to see anyone agree with you. Do you have any examples of him falling over from a gust of wind. Or is this just something you made up?

Yeah I've heard of such technology.  But be careful of letting such new fangled gadgets do the thinking for you.

Now pull your damn pants up!

I had a puter to help with my taxes. 9 more months on a 3 year sentence. Knock on wood.

The laugh is on you. I am wearing shorts. But thanks.

First of all YGM, one of your 3-4 DEs got swallowed up at RDE in the 4-3 front. Second, what the heck does that run have to do with you trying to have a 3-4 front with Burns and YGM as the DEs?

If Burns and YGM are 3-4 DEs, our opponents won’t ever pass the ball. They will run all day on us and that video does nothing other than to prove that YGM needs work against the run as a 4-3 DE which is not the same as a 3-4 DE.

    nvm

I'm not against turning over every stone.  I just think there's a limit to how many stones you can turn over before you lose track of which stones you've turned over.

See, they have these things called puters. You put your information in it, and low and behold, it is there when you need it. Damm cool if you ask me.

I kinda can understand the strategy but am skeptical of it.  Too much churn and nothing settles out.

Seattle is notorious for open try-outs every Tue.. Any opportunity to strengthen the roster. I can dig that. The taking every opportunity to make your roster better part anywho.

Don't get too caught up in the delineation between FS and SS. Quite often there's very little difference between the two. It's essentially a meaningless designation. Responsibilities will be the same for both safeties.

IMO, if you want the ability to disguise your D, you need both your safeties to be versatile. So yeah, FS,SS, it doesn't matter.

To be fair, I do something similar saying that Darnold may bust.  But the haters create an environment where the fans  are hesitant to post, or feel they have to constantly defend positive posts, about the Panthers QB.. on the Panthers message board.. and that is bullsht.

I have no quarrel with folks claiming San will bust. My ire heats up when they go overboard trying to convince the wait and see crowd. They just know they're right. So you must be stupid, or a troll.

Ah the Huddle, rarely a dull moment.

I think what may be happening is some fans, who are open minded about Darnold, are sick of the shade being thrown his way by supposed "fans"....to a point where whenever someone posts something positive about him, the Darnold Bashers swoop in.  It got old.

The deed is done.  He's our QB.  If they truly want him to succeed, they sure don't act like it.

My favorite one is "I don't expect much, but I hope he proves me wrong". lol   Way to cover the ol buttocks. If he fails , you're covered. If he succeeds, you're covered.

Nahh, I was just playing the same stupid game with him he was playing with others on the thread.   No precedent is going to change anyone's mind at this point.  There are quarterback failures and rebounds.  Darnold is gamble...we'll see if Fit and Rhule are right.

For the majority of the Huddle, they are just fans giving their opinions. The rest seem to need validation for their intellect. Those are the ones who won't let things go. And of course there are the trolls. The interwebs sensation that just keeps giving, and giving. Some days, like today. Everything is off kilter.

For me it's been a breathe of fresh air. Both Rhule and Fitt fit the young, progressive, and analytical model I've been dreaming about for well over a decade.

I'm all in because I'm seeing the things I was hoping I'd see. They've been unpredictable in a lot of ways which has been invigorating.

This is a panthers team being put together and run totally different than anything we've seen before.

I'm not expecting immediate be success. What I expect is a leadership that is constantly working to improve what they do rather than hold on like a pit bull to some ancient style of doing things.

A big thing for me is they aren't afraid to recognize and move on from mistakes and in that they instantly become better than anything we've had before.

If folks would just shed their fear of the past. They just might enjoy what is going on up in here.

The talent level has risen noticeably. The enthusiasm level is through the roof. The team is being run competently. Too much excitement to miss just because you are projecting past fears on the present team.

Let the past go. This ain't your daddy's Panthers.

I don't know.  I think his passive defenses were personnel based.  Now that he's got CBs who can press at the line, we should see more aggressive alignments.

Man this is going to be fun to watch. imagine us running vanilla D during Preseason. Folks will be chomping at the bit to throttle Snow. lol

I believe most folks think we have the talent to be more aggressive. Bottom line. We just want Snow to dial up a much improved D. Just get after teams.

Let's not get too carried away with that line of thought. If they are a top 11-15 defense, that isn't a failure.

These guys are still really young and we still have big question marks in most of the position groups.

It isn't fair to saddle them with that kind of expectation, IMO. I think we should be hopeful they can achieve that but not upset if they don't.

@CarolinaLivinstarts a thread to get folks a little optimistic and excited about the Defense, and you swoop in to put the ol kibosh on that. Can't you let the kids have just a little fun? After all, this is the time of year for fans to be excited for the coming season.

    Optimism is not a disease.
