Is there still a local bakery spot thats close to fields, god-like donuts? I may have my places mixed up. Its was across form the main road entrance to the fields/stadium.

It's actually just down the street of the entrance to the College on Church St. Krispy Kreme. About a block from the Marriott.

The entrance off Pines St. Where the Camp entrance is. Is on the other end of the College.

  2. You need to try Shotz. It's in the little strip mall behind Food Lion. It's in the corner, just down the walk from Mr. Gattis.

Great food, great atmosphere, and alcohol. Lot's to do. Tell Carly behind the bar Cookie sent you. She'll know what it means. lol

Oh, and I go to Karaoke on Thurs. night.

I just want to throw this out there:

The best case scenario is quite obviously he plays great on a new team with a fresh start and quality skill position players around him. That's a no brainer and what I'm sure we're all hoping for.

But after that I think it gets a little interesting. I don't think the worst case scenario is Darnold flops hard. If he does, we go back to the drawing board and yeah it sucks, but we'll have a high pick in the next draft if he does and we're only out meaningfully a 2nd rounder. Even if Darnold fails fast and obviously, that was worth the shot.

I think the worst case scenario is if Darnold plays well enough to give us a middle of the road record with a rapidly improving roster around him, but not well enough that it's obvious he should be the guy we build around for the future. What if Darnold shows flashes this year and teases everyone and is able to show just enough that he *might* be the guy, but then gets hurt somewhere middle to the later part of the season, say after we've won six games or so. That's the one that keeps me up at night remembering the endless parade of 7-9, 9-7 seasons that we've been stuck with far too often.

Don't get me wrong, I want him to succeed. But if he doesn't or can't, I'd rather him fail hard than tease us and the coaching staff. What worries me is my own perception that this coaching staff might be overvaluing it's ability to coach guys up and overemphasizing raw physical traits and talent which they can't coach. Maybe they turn out to be great at that at the pro level, but at this juncture I say it's still an open question that could lead to us getting stuck in a very familiar feeling rut with a talented roster but a middling qb.

These are the kinds of thoughts I have when I'm bored and I've already watched all the pr0n.

    That's right.

    All of it.

Except that weird @#%$ with furries. If you like that you need therapy. And probably a cattle prod.

Ditto. Well except for that cattle prod thingy. That sht...is a story for another time.

"I signed an extension that I didn't completely understand."

Rather than asking for a trade he should be firing his agent.

It is possible that his Agent did explain it to him, and he still didn't understand. He may have been too inhibited to ask for a more in depth explanation. It is not necessarily his Agents fault.

One of the steals of the draft. I think he will be better than some of the WRs drafted in the first round. If Sam plays well TM Jr will probably lead the panthers in TDs. DJ Moore is underated but I think that TJ could easily be our number one target since he is better at contested passes and in the red zone.

In the last 2 years. DJ has gotten a ton of practice on contested catches. lol

It's just weird that Moton has played RT his entire career and Christenson has played LT his entire career and we want to switch them. I guess arm length is that important in the NFL. Are Moton's arms that much longer? I remember the last time he played LT he looked really uncomfortable; however, he didn't have a full training camp or even many practices to prepare.

IMO, the only difference between RT, and LT is the QBs blind side. So teams want that T to be competent. Well, it is a different position, so there is a learning curve to switching.

I'm sure they are going to try and mix and match their way to the best line they can. So we shall see how this works.

Also, if we get lucky and we actually figure out the Tackle positions this year. It does set us up for a bright future.

  7. 2 minutes ago, SBBlue said:

Yup, and for BC to start practice at RT.  BC at RT makes sense if Moton at LT happens.  Otherwise, I don't understand BC at RT.

Yupperz, as basically our whole line is in flux, let Moton spend this year getting acclimated, let Brady learn RT. And let's mix and match to our hearts content. Sooner or later, we'll find our 5 for this year.

After the season we can evaluate how it went. But for now. Let's try and get our 2 Tackles ready. With Paradis at C. We can let all those Guards fight it out for the 2 starter spots.

Sounds good. I tell ya what.

Wait.. RG? What am I missing? Who has that locked up?

That would be Miller. Paradis, Miller, and Moton did a fine job on the right side last year. It is pretty logical to think that they could improve even more with that year of experience together.

Of course that is not set in stone. So we shall see how it goes.

But I thought being vaccinated meant that nothing COVID related could impede your chances of winning ..

So, while we have a high percentage of the team vaccinated, still, a vaccinated player or coach could miss a crucial game if they test positive but are asymptomatic AND vaccinated?

So really, even a vaccinated DJ Moore, Darnold, CMC, Rhule could miss a game due to COVID despite being vaccinated ..

People would be very angry if an unvaccinated player had to miss a game due to COVID but how about a vaccinated player missing a game due to COVID?

If this can happen what's even the point of getting the shot .. a COVID outbreak on a team would just be a bunch of asymptomatic players saying, I have COVID? I feel fine .. because we all know it is a super killer disease .. so much so that in order to know you have it you need a test

Football has started. Get that non Panther stuff outta here. Jackazz

The big "if" is, can they both switch sides?  Moving to the pros is hard enough, then on top of it to switch sides.  Moton has handled LT before.  But he'll be uncomfortable too.  Why not just ease BC in behind Erving?

I just don't understand that RT can have shorter arms.  I've never heard that.  We've discussed it here before...but I'm unconvinced.  It just makes no sense to me.  The one study I could find showed that shorter arms had no correlation with effectiveness, instead the study showed the opposite.  I couldn't find anything on RT vs LT arm length.   I guess they know something the rest of us don't.

This is probably the only "Unwritten Rule" in the NFL.

  11. This man has this team heading in the right direction. Young and hungry gets thrown around. But it seems to fit these guys.

I guess that's why you go after young, talented, athletic, and smart players. You coach them up, and let them play.

Excited just doesn't seem to be strong enough. Not just for this year. But with this FO, and Coach? The future looks good as well.

Kinda like having a corvette in the garage but always driving your 1990 Ford Taurus because it's always gotten you from point A to point B and it's not like you drive over 65 anyway.

Change out that Vette for a Mustang, and I get what you're putting down. It's why I don't let the wife drive mine. It's a Sports Car. Drive it as such. My favorite driving game is to use the brake as little as possible. I think that's why I am usually driving alone. I've had some crazy reactions when folks get out of my car.

Edit to add; Sorry about the tangent. It happens.

Good lord the homerism is embarrassing.

Statistics, history, and logic say otherwise - based on the division last year.

You’re simply hoping a ton of areas improve. Hope is not absolute. And it doesn’t trump observation or history (last year).

For instance a DeShaun Watson on last years team would not have won the division. The rankings just aren’t there. Statistically speaking, success with such poor team rankings such as last year, has been done like before literally a few times in all of NFL history what in the holy hell are people thinking when they post stuff like that…give me numbers and logic that is based on, no feelings or ‘potential’ please.

Would you be willing to post a list on how we should fan properly? I mean, c'mon man. Let the kids have some damm fun.

It's Moton easily. I liked Samuel but it's a damn shame it took so long to figure out how to use him. I know Ron was a defensive guy but man, you would think he would have learned something having to plan around gadget players.

You would think a Defensive Coach, who has to game plan against guys like that, would say "You know, I gotta get me one of those".

Loved Samuel and loved to see him do well last year and get paid.  However, can't always trust contract year production. He was largely a potential guy until it was time to cash in.  Moton on the other hand, consistency and good to great play at a more premium position all day every day.

Curtis did get better every year. So it could have been more than just a Contract year. Maybe it was just growth.

I feel like they need to bite the bullet and draft 3 or 4 OL next year

Depending on how this year works out, that may just happen. Odds are that probably won't happen. However, they did draft all Defense once, so who knows. lol

You know, my only issue with him is the team treating him like he is injury prone from the start.  Not sure how to read it.

There is absolutely no reason to push him at this point. Rhule has said he is working on the assumption that he will be ready for Training Camp.

He did work at OTAs, and Mini Camp. Just not full speed. Baby steps.
