Panthers should have traded for him last season from the Jags. Minshew is 5x better than Darnold and WAY cheaper. Dude has gotten a bum rap despite being a decent QB.

And he is a leader which is very clear that Darnold is not.And he is a leader which is very clear that Darnold is not.

Big if, and since the salary cap doesn't exist to NO because they just kick the can. How exactly will it hamstring them?

I guess we’d have to see what they would give up but Inability to replenish via draft would hurt. I don’t think their roster is particularly good aside from a few pieces. Jordan and Jenkins are long in the tooth. Michael Thomas is a question mark and is almost 30. Atlanta is poo too. With a younger roster, I think we are in the best spot if we somehow only gave up picks.

Good Lord, back out of the deal. Use the 30 million we have to sign 2-3 good players and take a day 1 starter at # 6 or trade down and take Lloyd/Dean/Linderbaum/Penning. I'm over him at this point. I know everyone says we suck but I really think we could be just 4-5 players from a playoff spot. Can go get 3-4 of them and keep improving.

And, This deal is going to hamstring NO or ATL for the next few years. W Brady on the way out, this could be a blessing in disguise… if we can find a QB, that is.

The vast majority of fans care solely about wins and losses.  If the team is winning, fans will show up.  Will have nothing to do with how people perceive Watson as a person.

And yes, I acknowledge there are fans out there who would be disgruntled by the trade.  But the number of people who would actually stop being a fan of the team and no longer attend the games (who otherwise did attend the games) is in all likelihood a vocal minority.

Ben was accused of rape and Steelers didn't struggle to fill their stadium.  At the end of the day it will come down to wins and losses.

and Kobe is damn near a national hero…

Fans only pretend to care when it’s in the news at that very moment. Win a couple of games, the Story gets old, fans don’t care.

I want a reporter to ask the following questions:

-You preach analytics but you gave cmac a record breaking when the data says RB's on their second deals are not worth it, what was your mindset with this deal?

-Can you explain the rush to sign the 2 lineman in the first HOUR of free agency?

-Can you explain your thought process of giving up so much capital for Sam Darnold when it appears your were clearly bidding against yourself?

-Can you explain your thought process in picking up the 5th year option of darnold needlessly?

-Can you explain your evaluation of Rashawn Slater and Micah Parsons?

-Can you explain your hesitation in playing BRady Christenson even when your playoff chances were minuscule and the left tackle in front of him was clearly struggling?

I think those are fair questions that Fit, Rhule and Tepper should answer

Yep. And not drafting any of the many linemen starting as rookies on playoff teams.
And the genius combo of drafting TMJ AND signing robby Anderson.

  6. A fan base of Marty Hurneys. When someone is washed, they are washed. They don’t earn extra contracts, or another shot with new support around them just because we like them. Cam was fun, Cam was good, Cam was never given a complete Offensive roster around him, Cam had to deal with questionable coaches and GMs during his entire tenure here. Now cam is done. That’s it. We don’t get to go back and have a do-over.  Let it go.

It's certainly not a lock but he is our best rout runner and he is our best pass catcher. There is a higher chance he could become a WR vs likelihood of not getting IRed again as a RB. If we are not using him as a runner out of the backfield we lose the same advantage when other teams know we wont vs knowing he will get hurt when running.

It's not a lock by any means, just a shot to salvage his contract and career. The guy is done as a RB at this point.

He would still need some carries in that scenario, for sure. Given the nature of his injuries I’m not certain that any position that requires running and being tackled will keep him safe.

The ideal touch count for him is about 10-12 in the run game and 5-7 in the receiving game.

This seems very reasonable. Those thinking we can just flip him to a WR 100% of the time lose sight of the matchup advantage that he’d be losing. I like him all day against LBs and even most safeties but corners won’t be as easy to shed.

I would like to see him coming out of the backfield but catching more balls, especially on early downs. That seems like the sweet spot for him. High percentage throws that are getting us 5-8 yds without him getting popped by 300 pound men. Seems like there could even be some effective 2-back options if the panthers are ever able to land a proficient offensive coordinator.
