What I have seen are resilient players who fight for 60 minutes. A defense that needs to be turned loose and play man instead of zone. A defensive  line who are solid and what I have longed for from the Panthers for years. And an offense capable of coming back and scoring in the last 2 minutes.

There does seem to be some resiliency with this team. Saw it in the Arizona game. That would lead one to believe that these players believe in the process Canales is trying to convey. That being said, it is a very fickle league, along with the locker room. It's up to these young players to evolve the process! I like what I'm seeing from some of our young players. Handling adversity is also a part of that. That's where the leaders/emerging leaders in the locker room come in. Just keep playing with tenacity!

Seems odd to list the last 2 weeks while omitting the impact of the historic yardage from Dowdle.

Very good point. But, to win you still have to have big conversions on 3rd down. There are always parts of the game where your QB 1 is forced to make a play. It's just complimentary football. You're dead on with what Dowdle has done. But, it has helped out Bryce by putting him in less situations where he has to carry the team. We'll see what impact this all has... a lot of variables and a lot of football still to be played.

Run the damn ball and don't let them run the damn ball..., keep their defense on the field to tire them out and keep ours off the field to keep them fresh... when they're tired slice them up with PA with BY... that's about as much as an identity we've had this decade.

Really good point! Plays right into the "keep pounding" mantra. When this team has been successful over the years it has usually been because of our dominant run game... and defense.

  4. I was paraphrasing, but I believe Dave Canales said something close to this. I personally believe on offense, playmakers are emerging. Bryce is still making mistakes, but he's not letting it get to him and keeps battling, and making plays in crucial moments. On defense, the run D is much improved. But, and we desperately need a consistent pass rush, we could be deadly if we had it. We seem to be loaded at the RB position. Even Etienne looks good! And I'm loving what I'm seeing from Jimmy Horn. I think this kid will end up being something special. What's your take 6 weeks in?

Best game as a pro for sure. I'd be more than happy to eat crow just need to see this consistently now

Yeah, there are a lot of people that would GLADLY eat crow if Bryce could turn into some version of say... Drew Brees (just example). I feel like he IS learning the right way. It's baby steps, but that's ok. The kid is 24 years old trying to carry a franchise. That's a hell of a burden. But... if he can find consistent confidence in himself and his teammates, then everyone would love to be wrong. But, you have to win in this league as well

Thanks man. It, like a lot of the art in my house, was done by one of my artist friends

Sorry bro, ALSO, congrats on your new daughter! Where are my manners? So excited that the Panthers just won back to back games that I've lost focus, lol. Seriously though, congratulations bro... nothing more special than that!

Figured I'd pop in and give some pies. Haven't been around in some time. Business has been crazy busy since the flood in the mountains and we just have birth to my third daughter (I'm 42 now, fug me, but I'm still a very proud papa). This was my quiet smile celebration after the winning field goal.

My heeler sleeping in the background is recovering by being attacked by a rogue loose pitbull in my neighborhood while my dad was dog sitting when we were in the hospital for the birth. His 68 yr old ass beat that dog off him with his hands.

I dig the George Carlin picture on your wall!

All the Phins have to do is attack the interior/middle of the field and there is no way we can keep pace w/ them.

we can't really keep up with any offense.

Also because we have linebackers that couldn't start in the XFL, and no pass rush AT ALL. How many sacks do we have through 4 games????

I wonder if the knives come out against Young when they finally bench him for good.

The knives will always come out no matter what. It's what happens when we haven't been successful for years. Winning in this league is all that matters. Now... what's the secret to that?

There are no trap games for bad teams. We didn't overlook the Patriots. We weren't looking past the Patriots. We got our ass kicked because we sucked. It looks like we kicked the Falcons ass because we were a trap game for them.

I don't think most Panthers fans think we really dominated a "good" Falcons team. Most of us saw it for what it was. Nothing to get too excited about, but something to build on. And I mean trap as in the Panthers were playing with a little EXTRA motivation as in "must win" against Atlanta at home. New England game today was similar for them. Trap games don't mean anything to GOOD teams because they can overcome adversity, Panthers cannot. Look... I'm not trying to justify the Panthers poor play. I'm just saying it's going to be a long season if you expected too much coming into this season. I'm also not saying anyone in particular is wrong with their take. I just want to see some progress at some point this year

Jesus Christ. What an embarrassing post.

What exactly is embarrassing about it? What exactly did you expect this year? I'm just reserving my judgement for way later in the season. You know, so we can TRULY see if we've made progress. I mean for Christ's sake, it's the beginning of Canales's second freaking year, four games in. I'm just as sick of losing as you, but we knew going into the season what we had. So why are you so surprised at what is happening? There are still 13 games left to play. Let's see what happens in the long run and stop being so knee jerk. And jerks!

  13. I think in a way this was a trap game. It's so hard to win in this league, every team has talent. New England needed this win the same way Carolina needed a win last week vs Atlanta.

Panthers are still looking for their identity, so after the special teams let downs it took the win right out of their sails. They have to have all three phases working to win and keep momentum. New England is a young team as well and they just took advantage of our mistakes. Panthers have to learn to play clean all three phases.

There's still a lot of season left. They need playmakers to emerge!! Why is it that when they have these slow starts that so many players drop like flies? They need the leaders for the future of this team to step the eff up and start making plays!! You can't do that on the sidelines. Are they just soft? Or are they just void of talent? At some point you have to hold ALL players accountable too. These players establish and carry on the identity and culture of the team.

There is a lot of season left to play. It's time to "keep pounding!". Forget this week, get ready for Miami and just take it day by day, week by week until they find their identity. Would help if they can get some guys back off IR and avoid injury. Time to find out who your leaders truly are!

  14. If Bryce had led them down the field on that GOLDEN opportunity drive and got the TD, then I might hold off on admitting. That was his time to really shine and he just did not look like that guy we saw when he was at Alabama. He just looks intimidated out there. Until he can overcome the nerves of big moments I'm afraid no one will be convinced. At some point he has to show he can perform during the moments it counts the most. And honestly, just overall for 4 quarters

  15. 3 minutes ago, WhoKnows said:

He does. How many penalties are we gifted and he barely gets anywhere on the last drive.

Also, WTF is with throwing the ball out of bounds instead of just chucking it up for TMac when you have an offsides and a free play? Is he even aware that it’s a free play and he doesn’t have to try and avoid an interception?

Arizona gifted us a chance to come all the way back and our last drive looks like poo.

They blew the whistle to stop the play. Still though, it did look as if he wasn't aware of that fact
