Even by saying this you’re ignoring years of of data that prove my point. Besides AP I really can’t think of an RB that’s performed at an all pro level into their 30s.

I mean damn! We have Chubba Hubbard!!! What's everyone so sad about? lol... You are right you know. Everyone needs to chill, we did fleece the 'niners.

For those of you saying the 9ers fans are pissed.  I call BS.  The boards are lit up with excited 9ers fans.  There are negative comments, but the majority are celebrating the trade.

    https://www.49erswebzone.com/forum/niners/196281-cmc-is-a-49er-yes/page50/search=hoovtrain

It's pretty comical to watch his highlights... when he catches the ball with one defender in isolation... they basically all look at their DC and say "Seriously... Go F yourself"

Right now. Super Bowl or bust.

dude is a baller. 49ers dropping their big balls on the table too. why not? WE JUST GOT BETTER

Holy s**t just saw the news, yyyyeeeeeeesssssssss f**k me! Holy hell the fun Shanny is going to have moving this chess piece around in contrast to a guy like Deebo and others. Shanalynch hanging their big sack the hell out.

CMC to one side, Deebo to the other. Screens, all the way downfield.

We have the best offensive talent in the league, right? RIGHT??!

He's going to immediately add that speed to the outside that the 49ers RBs have been lacking and I'm sure Kyle will find a myriad of ways to utilize him as a receiver.

Actually not bad at all. Considering we get him the rest of this season for free. If he stays healthy this will be a steal for us.

I just checked the date today, and it isn't April 1st!  Hell yeah, I am so pumped for this!!!! I'm going to the game on Sunday and I can't wait!!!  Also, F@;$ the Rams!

    https://www.ninersnation.com/2022/10/20/23415802/nfl-trade-deadline-2022-49ers-panthers-rb-christian-mccaffrey

Needless to say, the 49ers' offense just got exponentially more explosive and versatile. Brandon Aiyuk was already coming into his own. Deebo Samuel is fresh off an All-Pro season, and George Kittle is an established star.

Now, you drop McCaffrey into the mix and look out. There are no excuses for the 49ers this season. This is a move you make when you believe you can go all in.

Lol, they're going to be excited until the 'ol injury bug comes rearing it's ugly head, and that includes Garoppolo... then they'll see the true value of all those picks they gave up. Ask the Minnesota Vikings (obviously, this trade not THAT big) how the Hershel Walker trade worked out for them. I wish nothing but the best for CMC though... I hope he tastes success there. Honestly, they're set up just a bit better than the Vikings were back then, but... doesn't mean it can't bite them.

I can’t think of any other reason why someone would say something like Foreman is CMC with similar stats other than not understanding football.

CMC literally just took an entire mid section of a teams’ draft, in 2022, and paid 20m a year…AND to a team that was already stripped, meaning even more value to them.

Teams don’t do that for just anyone…that was my point. It’s not just about the numbers. CMC will elevate the entire offense and give a lot more options, mismatches and force the opposing DC to pay attention.

The casual fan looks at numbers, where as knowing a bit more will notice these things. We couldn’t trade Forman for a conditional 7th if we tried.

Sorry, I misread what you were referring to... why people say that's why you don't pay big money to RB's... I agree that CMC is a prolific difference maker, and affects the game. I was just speaking in terms of the Panthers and the fans screaming about this being a horrible deal. CMC had a say in this... if we had hesitated and he got hurt this weekend, then what do they get? I get why he would want to leave. He wants to win while he is still young and healthy enough to BE a difference maker. I just don't think it makes a difference for the Panthers any more... at this point Foreman will suffice. Doesn't take much scheming to beat this team. Honestly, I think it was a pretty good trade considering we got our draft picks back, late picks or not.

Happy for CMC. He deserves better.

Sad for us. We fans don't deserve this. We have nothing to cheer for on Sundays now other than to lose so we get the first pick.

Happy for my Dynasty fantasy leagues where CMC now goes to one of the best offensive minds in football.

I think what a lot of people are not considering here is that CMC was most likely asking to be traded, he had a play in this. And consider this... what if the they had hesitated with this trade, then say, Christian goes out and plays this Sunday, then gets hurt for an extended period... what would the Panthers be offered then? I think their hand was forced and they struck while it was hot... it really wasn't a bad deal IMO.

I’m for the trade just to be clear but those type of comments come from madden players who watch Panther games and not the actual sport.

no DC is going to scheme and shift around for Forman even if he puts up the same numbers. Other offensive players won’t be getting open, finding gaps and mismatches because foreman is on the field…even if numbers are the same. Forman isn’t making anyone pay dearly for not doubling or spying him.

    That’s the difference.

Oh, the typical, "you don't REALLY watch football" comment, can expect at least two of those per subject. If our coaches were half as smart as our huddlers just imagine how kick ass this team would be.

I was being a bit facetious, obviously Foreman is no CMC, but a lot of people said the same thing when Derrick Henry got hurt and Foreman filled in great. Foreman could easily have a 100 yard rushing game, regardless of scheme, he's a very capable RB and has pretty good hands. Albeit, our coaching staff may start Hubbard, lol. Point is... does it REALLY matter? What the hell were we winning WITH CMC? Even if he was 100% of our offense.

I'm 49 years old... why the HELL would I be a "Madden player"? I have too much responsibility kid. And trust me, I've watched the game for a long damn time.

I’m surprised at the amount of people who are upset at the compensation. A oft injured RB with a huge contract, I’m just glad he’s off a bad team.

CMC can put a great team over the top but he’s not going to take a bad team anywhere. By the time this team has its act together he’ll be older and likely injured.

And watch... this weekend Foreman will put up similar numbers as CMC, then you'll see the, "that's why you don't pay big bucks on RB's" comments.

I’m not mad about it. Guaranteed #1 overall pick, lots of draft picks, and doesn’t everyone remember CMC missed most of the last two seasons?

Yup... and when he is injured in the next 2 to 4 games for rest of season in SF, we'll see who truly got hosed. We got all our draft picks back that we stupidly traded away for a bad QB and "serviceable" DB. Even if they are later picks it's better than no picks. Smart move IMO. 2nd 3rd AND 4th? Plus, a 5th next year? Yes!!! good trade... despite being half our offense this year, we're no less worse than we were.

Not even about that. Wilks has been in the NFL long enough to not play to lose.

This was P.J. Walker's worst performance. I wonder why...

Yeah, I get it... but, I'm sure Wilks will admit there were coaching mistakes as well. He needs a game or two to get a feel for what works or doesn't work within this system he has been dealt. It's a lot more complex than us huddlers and weekend warriors would like to think. I'm sure he will critique his own strategy after this game, frankly, I'm surprised the Panthers lead 10-7 at the half. I fully expected the Rams to have a "get right" game and destroy us. There's no denying they're a far better team. I'm not on a bandwagon for Wilks at all... I just think with THIS roster, an adjustment period will be required. At least a game or two, experience or no experience. I don't think Belichick could fix this in a game or two. It's a tough situation.

He just became the HC of a staff he didn’t hire and had one week to prepare his team to travel across the country with a 4th string QB, no Luvu, no Horn, and no Chinn and take on the Rams.
Give the man a few weeks at least to try to right this sinking ship… I doubt he is the answer, but let’s give him some sort of chance before writing him off.

But, but... this is the "Huddle". We demand INSTANT!!

I’m certainly not going to pass judgment on Wills after one game, but a lot of the time when a HC gets fired and an assistant is put in his place, players go hard and try to play for him. That certainly didn’t happen today, and in his first game he had to separate a player from a coach while screaming at both and send the player home mid-game. That’s not a good sign but poo happens.

Yep! And that player just so happen to be Rhules biggest fan on the team. A lot of frustration right now, but, it's going to take Wilks a few games IF he can get these guys to come together... it's a monumental task at this point without a true QB and an OC with no creativity. Good luck is all I can say, it's a freaking mess on Mint!

Wilks "ain't " what, exactly? What in theee hell are you weirdos expecting? This team is bad. The culture is bad. The qb room is a damn disaster and has been for 3+years, but you all are bitching about an ostensibly lame duck coach.

I think a lot of the reaction today is based on the fact that it was the same thing. Played good in first half, enough to give us hope there is improvement, just to see the same old second half meltdown. If Panthers could put together 4 WHOLE quarters of football, even if they had lost by a field goal today, there wouldn't have been such a knee-jerk reaction. You're absolutely correct... there is a drastic lack of talent and identity with this team! It needs REAL leadership ON the field and in the locker room. Most of all, they need a QB that can at the very least manage a football game.

He sucks ass as a HC. No one could say why he was good besides pointless platitudes like "he's a leader of men" or "he embodies keep pounding". Weirdest huddle crush I have seen in my time posting here.

Lol, 'Remember the Titans!!'. He's the next Denzel!

Eason looked miles better than PJ and hope he gets the start next. He is 6 freaking 6 for god sakes and was throwing darts. He had more passing yds in 30 seconds then PJ had all game

You know what's crazy? I saw him in a preseason game against us when he was with the Colts a couple of years ago and he was lighting us up in that game. I actually said to myself that this would be a good kid to go after if he ever became available. He has all the intangibles, just don't know if he has the processing ability or work ethic.

Worst Panther game I've ever sat through (all of them). Scared to throw the football. Worse than some JV shizz!

Man!! This is really sad... how freaking hard can it be to simply find just a game managing QB? Panthers are hopeless right now. I've never seen the fanbase THIS depressed. I'm sorry for everyone, lol.

On offense we were worse than anything you’ve seen so far.  The forward pass is now non existent.  Robby went full Robby is very likely no longer a Panther.  Was sent to the showers by Wilkes.  CMC was like 160 of our 220 yards, a big chunk of it on a garbage time play.

Defensively more of what you’ve already seen.  Respectable effort that breaks down eventually.

    A VERY VERY boring game.

Damn... Locker room is a mess I'm sure. All the kings horses and all the kings men... this franchise is fugged right now, really sucks. Good luck Wilks.

  16. So, I'm from Boone originally, but I have lived in Arizona for about 7 years now. I wasn't able to catch todays game. Give me a good broad analysis of what transpired today. Yes, I could google it, but what's more entertaining than getting the scoop from the Panthers Huddle fanbase? How did the new coaching staff look? promising? How did PJ look?  More of the same old thing? Was there anything positive worth speaking of?

I did see the box score... looked like the same old thing. Good first half but no second half adjustments and/or consistency. McAdoodoo, or all of the above?

....tipper has shown himself to be a total dick...he doesn't get it. If he walked down thru the masses in tailgate land...they'd rape him...this guy is so wrapped in his money and ego he really doesn't care about the true culture of Panther football... we saw at a Panther press conference... he only cares about soccer and music...the sht he can make money on...

Lol, speaking of culture, he even went as far as saying, "This team has never had a real culture of winning". Well... I beg to differ. The Panthers have had an identity based around Sam Mills and the "Keep Pounding" mantra.  A hard nosed defense and a pounding running game. And... just enough Steve Smith, Muhsin Muhammad, Greg Olsen, etc... Oh, and by the way, multiple division titles and two Super Bowl appearances. The back to back winning season thing is a bit misleading and doesn't necessarily reflect a "culture of winning". This organization has tasted plenty of success, so Tepper is a bit off with his opinion of Panthers culture. KEEP POUNDING! Bring that mentality back!!! There's your culture!!

GF and I made the trip up from ATL to watch this poo show. About midway through the 4th, we moved down to right behind the bench since at that point the stadium was probably at 20% and security didn't care. Being my drunk, obnoxious self, I started heckling Matt Rhule (and there was no way he didn't hear me). I thought it was pretty telling that the O-line group on the bench closest to where I was sitting was laughing along with me as I hurled insults.

Just watching the sidelines and paying particular attention to body language, it is clear the players don't like him at all. Also, as much as Baker tries to hype up his teammates, it's pretty apparent that they are not very receptive to it. Just kind of a sad state of affairs here on Mint St.

I'll be back for the game against Denver, since my GF's best friend is a diehard Broncos fan and wants us to show her around Charlotte, but otherwise I could give less of a fug about this team now. I wasn't even mad yesterday. This is the first time in my 20 years being a Panthers fan I've felt this way. Apathy is much worse than disappointment.

At least we can still get fuged up with the Roaring Riot.

Receptive? That might imply catching... our receivers aren't even receptive to THAT or holding on to the ball. Plenty of blame to go around. It is a sad fair of events for sure. This team cannot come together it seems.
