POLL: What Will It Take For You To Be OK With Keeping Rhule?
firefox1234 replied to travisura's topic in Carolina Panthers
Somewhere between 9 wins and a playoff berth. -
Yes. He's made a once enjoyable past time a very drab one.

Will drafting a rookie QB save Rhule?
firefox1234 replied to firefox1234's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m pretty sure Rosen is out but he isn’t the first or last QB teams will completely whiff on. I agree that unless we are picking #1 or probably top 5 we won’t do a Josh Rosen unless the guy picked this year is just that bad. -
Will drafting a rookie QB save Rhule?

The problem I have is that this draft can more than likely negatively affect this teams future. Instead of choosing a more reliable player at #6 like an LT or maybe even DL, Rhule may feel forced to gamble our only top 100 pick in a weak QB draft. If Rhule gets fired and the new wants his own QB then it would make this draft even more of a wash. -

Josh Rosen would like to have a word…. -
Will drafting a rookie QB save Rhule?

I would agree this a better team than 2011. I just don’t have much confidence a rookie QB could get us much better than 5-12. Bears scraped by with Fields at 6-11. I can’t confidently say we get 8 or 9 wins with a rookie QB. -

There probably isn’t a better place for a rookie QB to land than NE. I wish I could say the same about here… -

For a rookie QB in our team to win OROY he will probably have to put rookie Cam like numbers and I doubt many would complain if we allowed Rhule another season to build around that prospect even if we finished sub 500. At least for another year…. But just as you said, it is highly unlikely. -

We will definitely need to rely on our defense. But has our D gotten better than last year? I love our off season moves so far especially on the OL. However, I don’t know if this defense can carry the day like last season and I can’t confidently say our offense won’t need carrying, especially if we draft a rookie QB. -

But why should it give Rhule a pass? If year 3 is gonna be similar to year 1 and 2 then that is pretty depressing. RR at least had the luck and hindsight to get his QB early and build from their. Rhule has fumbled the most important position twice in a row and now Tepper is supposed to convince us those were just mulligans now that Rhule has a rookie QB? -
Will drafting a QB whether it be Pickett, Willis, or maybe Corrall really save Rhule? We went 6-10 in Cam’s rookie year and no one in this draft is even close to Cam in talent. We are probably not Jaguars bad who went 3-14 with Lawrence, but I am having a hard time seeing us do significantly better than 5-12 with one of these rookie QBs. Unless one of them is hidden diamond and shows it out of the gates, I can’t see Rhule getting the necessary record to justify giving him a fourth year.

People were pretty high after last seasons offseason too. The recently locked Darnold thread on all the praise Fitt was getting for the 2021 draft is evidence enough. Yet when it came to the on field performance reality hit us fast.

REPORT: Armstead is between Chicago, Miami, and Carolina.

A good reason to draft LT at #6. -
I just can’t help but feel jake locker and gabbert vibes from this draft class but minus a Cam.

DL is almost as much of a need as LT. Both our lines were soft asf last season….

I was wrong about Cam so I wouldn’t mind being wrong again….

None of these moves matter without our franchise QB
firefox1234 replied to Kraybrothers's topic in Carolina Panthers
Doesn’t change the fact that Rhule has no excuses. He had year 1 and 2 to figure out the QB situation but he poo the bed and put us in a hole we’re currently trying to dig ourselves out of. Year 3 is more than likely a do or die year for him. -
David Newton's "cryptic" comment got me to thinkin
firefox1234 replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Pickett and Burrow were in completely different situations. Pickett was a four year starter and lit up in his fifth year in a weaker conference as well. It could mean nothing or it mean everything, we can only wait and see. -

I had reservations about Cam so I’ve got no faith in my credibility. -

Meh..even if Pickett or whoever is trash. If they are like Pickles and we’re drafting top 10 or top 5 we will just go again in 2023. -
“Franchise QBs have no desire to sign with Carolina”
firefox1234 replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
As it’s been said to death by now. The only issue wasn’t Cam’s departure, it was what took place following it. Giving Teddy 20m/yr then paying another team to get rid of him, only to give draft picks for Darnold and exercising his option. Which has put as where we are… The heat the Rhule and Tepper are getting is very much well deserved until they can show us otherwise. -
Good deal.
