I figured Aaron Rodgers being a Packer would be the reason for all those years.

Rodgers? Screw that guy but ill will towards the Packers? Not really. Guys like Tom Grossi makes it nearly impossible to have a dislike.

I'll mention the Seahawks as a former hated team, mainly when they had Russell Wilson. Utterly hated around here because of how they kept finding ways to beat us. That's why our win against them in 2015 was huge.

Broncos still not forgiven because of the SB50 screwjob.

Cowboys will likely never come off the hated list.

Weirdly, Bucs are not hated as much around here. Wasn't the case in the John Fox era, though.

Whether to hate the Falcons or Saints more? Probably the Saints thanks to Sean Payton. But any 28-3 Falcons joke never gets old.

You will probably beat us alot in the future now.

We're just trying to get back to the mediocrity that we used to have around here. I'd be worried that you're in really tough division this year and Love is still throwing those Favre-esqe interceptions. You'd be hoping he wouldn't be doing that by now.

  3. I'll attribute the confusion on the lack of consistency in the team we've been fielding every week. Every week, it's basically a different group of guys because we keep losing them to injury. Maybe if we could actually stay relatively healthy for a bit...

...but that's probably asking too much.

If your talking about the game I think your talking about that was another heartbreaking loss just like yesterday was. I think we had you guys beat and lost in the last minute in that game.

Up by a field goal and then we had a good return. Then Jake threw a bit of duck to Smitty and he somehow caught it at the goalline.

Also just realized Mingo was a healthy scratch for the Cowboys.

I remember your 2005 team. You guys had a good team that year. I remember you pounded the Giants on the way.

That was a frustrating year for the Panthers. We basically lost all our runningbacks by the time we got to the Seahawks. Doubt that would've made a difference.

Also remember the Packers game in 2008 with a then new-ish Aaron Rodgers. Pretty impressive win in retrospect.

  6. I'm all in on drafting a good enough roster that can adequately support a QB. This roster ain't it and bringing in someone new too soon means wasting valuable years under their rookie contract.

Also, new QB means new HC. I don't trust Tepper not firing Canales if the new guy falters out of the gate.

  7. Canales has the same problem just about every other HC in this league have: they are too stubborn in what they want to do. Sometimes, he can contain himself and plays to the strengths of this team. But then his playcalls get way too cute, he forgets that our running game exists and he goes for these low percentage play calls that are a waste of a down.

That said, a new coach won't necessarily solve anything, either. They'll just have their own sets of flaws to complain about (Fox was overly conservative. Ron had poor clock management, etc.).

  8. I used to work within the gaming industry, but I'm very much glad I finally got out. The whole problem gambling angle always came across as a "We do it because we have to" more than a genuine effort. Also, someone once told me that if you're gambling because you think you'll actually make money, you're doing it for the wrong reason. But that's how it's often marketed. Hey, look at this guy with a wad of cash and hot babes around him.

I very much am not surprised how pervasive gambling and sports betting has become since I saw it up close when it was much more limited.

  9. None of our tight ends is Ian Thomas. Instant upgrade. As of now, feels like a tight end by committee. Combined, they will contribute but none will pop off for a big game. Hopefully, one will start to pull away.

I loved the guy and was really pissed when he was traded (wasn’t he traded?) And it took us until Gettleman to seriously address the position. Which got me to loving Gettleman out of the gate.

I was here to remember that Jenkins had trouble keeping his weight down and was trashing his own teammates. Can't say I was that upset when we finally traded him. Given the Jets really only got one good season out of him before he flamed out, trade was the correct one in retrospect.

At least from a likability perspective, Brown is better than Jenkins and it's not even close.
