Both SB HCs were offensive guys. All of the other NFCS teams have deffensive guys and I would bet none of them will be seeing a SB with their teams. It's just the way it is for now and it doesn't look close to changing.

yeah i was talking about John Fox & Ron Riveras teams

  2. yeah seems like alot of motivational feel good rah rah rah

which yeah is all good I just honestly have my doubts that approach is the proper blueprint to fix this team

& Bryce Young still out there hopping while all at the same time he was throwing the football is just brutal on the eyes to watch .Canales needs to make him stop doing that ...just saying

I really don’t understand why it bothers some that the Texans more than likely had Young over Stroud. There is a lot that points to it like Ryans still not saying who their top QB was after he got Stroud, he just said “we had Young and Stroud ranked high.” You have players celebrating that win that dropped them to 2… I mean if Stroud was QB1 to them they win didn’t matter right? You have a former reporter for Houston saying he thinks they would have picked Young if they had the top pick. Again it’s all for nothing as they lucked out and landed Stroud. If they had a big gap between the two they would have jumped up to secure their guy no matter who they “thought” we were going to draft. Thats too big of a risk to take if Stroud was their guy all along.

you don't know for sure if the Texans were not just trying to make the Panthers think one way & then turn around & do the opposite...just saying

Yeah, up front is really where it’s at for competing. That’s your floor really.

well yeah to certain extent but still it matters who you have also under center directing traffic & distributing the ball to your  offensive weapons or you will be just like the Cleveland Brown's were several years ago when they had arguably if not one of the best oL in the NFL with players like Joel Bitinio &  JC Trotter & Joe Thomas... just saying

It would be nice to see #9 prove people like this laughably wrong.

That's why many Panthers fans myself included were wanting to see how much time he'd dedicated to his craft following the conclusion of the season but then he showed up and let everyone know he pretty much crawled under a rock. Somehow the Panthers social team thought this was rather amusing after what we'd sacrificed for the rights to draft him. Baffling lack of awareness all around.

It's interesting that we go from Levis being least desirable of the class and a complete and total meathead that would alienate himself from his teammates to being talked up as possibly emerging as one of the better young QB's entering the 2024 season.

Man what a whirlwind the last 12 months have been for the people who fully bought the hype machine in the lead up to the 2023 NFL draft and did victory laps like they had their very own sports almanac from BTTF.

    Life comes at you fast

yeah I was hoping  that we stayed put & drafted Levis at #9

i even said on here after we foolishly traded up for Bryce Young that I would not be surprised whatsoever if the Bears were picking #1 overall with our pick this year

    but what ...just saying

You are forgetting the part where Bryce was thrown into the worst situation of all time with the worst OL of all time and WRs that shouldnt be allowed on a practice field.

you get so caught up in identifying the problems with everyone else what about an undersized Qb who almost led the league in bad throws last season & couldn't run the offense from under center which made it more difficult for the oL to sell the run on passing plays from the shotgun

I dare say right lol & can almost assure you that Bryce Young played a bigger role in the  problems we seen along the oL & with our WR corps than most people realize

Say what you want but Matt Ryan and Eli had Granny arms and could spin it harder than Bryce ever has. We will see when the hype wears off.

yeah their arms might have been skinny  but look how broad their shoulders are & the length of their arms & maybe just maybe that  length × width has alot to do with the velocity on the football moreso than the muscle in their biceps & forearms

look at Elway & Jeff George they both had a cannon for an arm & also had similar builds to Eli & Matt Ryan

I am not even sure that muscles have alot to do with velocity sure some but no not alot...just saying

Many media folk had him as the next Seattle coach. It’s a wait and see.

did Seattle interview or request an interview with Canales for their HC vacancy ?

for some reason i was thinking the Panthers were the only team in the NFL that offered Canales an interview ?

  9. Penix is 6'& 2" & 215 lbs. runs a 4.5 / 40 can jump out the gym & has a cannon for an arm.& is accurate at all 3 levels & is the most pro ready Qb in the draft & some people just can't understand why Atlanta would waste their 8th pick on him ...lol

I so badly want them to make the culture all about competition. At every position. They coddle the QB starter right now and that should not be the culture. Handing people jobs. Just beat someone out. Anybody.

Plummer has no chance. Just a body. So I guess he is ‘anybody’. That sucks.

Bring in players to push the people in front of them.

yeah bingo that is my big issue right there with the Panthers they say one thing about wanting players that have that dawg mentality & well in my mind your Qb has to be the big dog the alpha leader of the pack

    • Pie 1
  10. okay & if you don't think Penix looks like a legit NFL starter & was the BPA at Atlanta's pick then you need to go watch the game he had against Texas.

& i'll tell you what I seen ... i seen the best performance all year of any Qb in college football...just saying

Its not a bad idea but they shouldn't have taken a guy that will be 28 by the time he plays.

well yeah i ageee that Penix age is definitely a legitimate concern of course  but all  at the same time it's not also inconceivable to think that history would not once again repeat itself & Penix play in the NFL 15 plus years just like A. Rodgers & Steve Young ...just saying

I get what they are doing, going for long term sustained success instead of short term gain.  Cousins gives them the ability to compete now, and in two or three years, if they think Pennix can play, they cut or trade Cousins and go with Pennix for the foreseeable future.  Akin to what Green Bay did with Favre, Rogers, and now Love.  If it works out for Green Bay and Atlanta, might see other teams do the same thing.

Personally, I wish we had let Cam play out his contract and drafted a younger guy that same year, instead of cutting cam and the ridiculous signing of TB.

yeah for example the Green Bay & San Fransico model of drafting your young Qb 2 to 3 years prior to starting for the established vet has been a successful philosophy to follow in years past ...

    Montana...Young

    Favre...Rodgers

    maybe yeah just maybe

    Cousins...Penix

    makes sense...just saying
