That will make some people here very happy.

At a certain point these late rounders just become like UDFAs. I personally don’t see much value in them. Looking at our draft history we haven’t had a good 5th-7th rounder in 10 years. We actually had a pretty good run of them with Hurney. Hardy, Norman, AJ Klein, Munnerlyn. But yeah the past 10 years we may as well have not even had the picks so I’d just as soon not trade back to add a worthless 5th rounder, and is also the reason I felt the trade up from 33 to 32 for the 5th yr option was so worth it because ultimately swapping a 5th for a 6th rounder seems absolutely meaningless.

Trade back: Tepper
Trade up: Tepper
Stay put: Tepper
About sums up this board.

I wouldn’t mind starting the season with Chuba and slowly increasing the snap count for Brooks week over week. Miles Sanders looked more like a practice squad player last year so I think Brooks has already beat him out. Legette will be a day 1 starter in the sense that there are routes in our playbook which will be his routes and nobody else’s. I don’t know what his snap count % will be, but he is the only receiver we have with his specific skill set.

I think we have Gilmore ready to go.
Van Pran would be my pick, he can sit a year behind Corbet and then start for 10 years.
I remember reading about one of these centers that he would be tailor made for a zone blocking scheme, maybe Bortoloni? So I wonder if that kind of player has been a target all along in the mid rounds.

Everybody says “I just want them to draft BPA” until they don’t draft whatever player some mock draft says is BPA. One thing that is clear to me is that they are drafting BPA according to their own board, rankings, and evaluations, because RB and LB were certainly not the biggest needs. Most people here, myself included, just have draft crushes on some specific players based on extremely limited information. The teams have 10x the information we do and are looking at 10x the amount of players. That’s not to say they always get it right, it’s more to say the average fan getting it right is more akin to a dead clock being right 2x per day. And you really have no idea, if you were talking to Payton Wilson’s doctors and examining his medicals just like the team is, or sitting through the interviews, or getting direct information from a team of scouts, you may find yourself agreeing with the team more than you think.

I do wonder if we would have gone center had we stayed at 39. I feel like Morgan just got an offer he couldn’t refuse with that 2nd round pick being included.

The Panthers are so bad that the picks in the first 3 rounds should start if the front office is good
Why wouldn’t Legette and Brooks start? They say Brooks should be ready by training camp. I’m alright if they ease him in a bit but it seems pretty likely he starts at some point this season. And there’s no other WR on our roster who does what Legette does. He’s a starter.

Ah, the Washington Panthers. Sainrstil, Sinnott, now McCaffrey.

Welp apparently Hines Ward played his entire career without an ACL as well. TIL
So ofc the Steelers pick him.

Yep. His walk looked crazy, but running looked normal.
Sounds like me after a few drinks.

Wow, his career could be over. Reports say one knee no longer has an ACL (????) not even sure what that means but obviously a huge issue
Heard his leg fell off during one interview. Not good.

I like that he doesn’t have a lot of wear and tear on his body yet since he was behind Johnson and Robinson his first couple seasons. I don’t like that he’s coming off an ACL injury, obviously. Seems like we’re really prepping to install and develop in 2024 and compete in 2025.
-
Just went and watched some analysis on him. Apparently he’s still very much developing as a LB and this appears to be more of a pick for 2025 and beyond with Shaq and Jewell in place this season.

Keep 39 draft Brooks we would still have 142. We are the worst trading team.
? But we wouldn’t have a 2nd next year. Important detail.

We're all frustrated. We can eat each other or we can have honest realistic no punches pulled discussions and also hope for the best it we so choose.
The poster you are referring to is not a example of silencing opinion though. That was Poundaway aka SBBlue who attacked anyone that said a negative word about the team and also later went down in flames on those previous accounts via meltdowns over Matt Rhule. Dude literally went down with the Rhule ship over it he defended that guy so much. Then came back and pretended nothing happened. Did the same thing with Bryce Young.
If you're going to use an example try not to use the mentally ill. Honestly the mods did him a favor. This place was not healthy for him.
I appreciate the thought out response. I’d say this place is not healthy for TheBigKat either. Like I said, there’s a few around who bitch and moan about the same thing over and over no matter the discussion. It’s annoying, and I know for a fact the board loses traffic over it if that is actually a concern. There are definitely many who were once more regular posters here who stay away or have gone to or created other spaces to talk about the Panthers. The bitchers and moaners know they have a platform here.

scanning the board it crazy as it seems there are multiple threads discussing just those topics.
Ok, then I’ll thank you to stay out of every other thread from now on except these overly negative ones, since as I said you guys like to go in and drag everything down like you did with the Atlanta thread.

2024 Draft: Day 3 (Rounds 4-7)
in Carolina Panthers

I don’t get the “poor” size grade. Isn’t 6’4 pretty average for TE?
