I am pretty sure that this draft is so loaded that there will be a first round talent at #33, making it difficult to trade out of--If Chop Robinson (probably the top 3-4 Edge that could be there) or Adonai Mitchell (arguably the top WR with a first round grade) is there--no brainer.
Now, since you didn't ask, bonus analysis:
- Chop Robinson is the fourth rated Edge in the draft, and I see him going to either Buffalo at #28 or Detroit at #29
- Mitchell will be the fifth or sixth WR off the board, and unless the Chiefs go for Keon Coleman, there is no way Mitchell gets by KC
I see the Panthers drafting from the following positions in round 2: Edge, WR
I see the Panthers drafting from the following positions after round 2: CB, TE, C, WR
If Chop Robinson is there he would be the no brainer pick for me. Then follow with massive DT Sweat at 39 and we have a very exciting defense. Then go best WR in the 3rd round.

What about Spencer Rattler? There is some potential there with him being in a bad team last year with zero protection.
If he was available day 3, he would be a good pick. He has all the tools needed to succeed if he can put it all together. And that’s the ideal recipe for a day 3 QB. Low risk, high reward.

I saw him play once or twice and he looked impressive. But what we really need is someone who can get separation and get open, and I didn’t see that, so he doesn’t feel like a fit in the second round for us as we need impact starters. But he’s exciting once he has the ball no doubt.

Rodgers won't make it past the summer without retiring and becoming rfkjr's running mate
The Jets GM is at a Fitterer level, hard to see any plan or pattern in what he’s doing.

The depth of this WR class will push some great players down to us. We could potentially wait and take a WR in round 3. We need to go BPA.

I’m on the Sweat bandwagon as well, would be a spectacular front three

Where would Darius Robinson fit in our 3-4? I’ve never seen him play, so I don’t know much about him. On paper he looks too big for an OLB. And borderline small for a 3-4 end. In a 4-3 he looks perfect. But again, that’s just on paper.

not sure what i think about this strategy.
in one way i absolutely love it because of what it does to the trenches.
of course we get our center for the next decade.
and we also get our edge set with darius robinson. so that's two huge things.
last couple days i've been flirting with this idea of getting also T'vondre Sweat just because i love the idea of DL that consists of Brown at 6'5 320 lbs, A'Shawn Robinson at 6'3 320lbs, and then Sweat at 6'4 366lbs in the middle...and then either rotate or add shy tuttle to the line in goal/short yardage situations.
can you imagine the headache that would give OLs? plus, with Sweat, it gives us options with Brown we wouldn't otherwise have.
but then there's the playmakers. i'm just not nuts about washington and baker and erick all the way i am other pass catchers. i think they could be good, even really good, but i would just hate to miss out on these guys at the top.
i'm a carson steele fan so i'mfine there. he'd give the run game the violent punch it needs.
this strategy would need a couple extra earlier picks to get an upgrade with the pass catchers, but then we might miss out some of the trench beef we'd be adding.
I’m with you on Sweat. Getting a true nose like him is super intriguing. I’ve gone OC and WR, but I’m leaning towards Sweat at this point.

Would be great to draft Randy Moss 2.0, but I have no idea what that has to do with Leggette?

Jackson Powers-Johnson would be an outstanding pick, but I have my doubts that he'll be there at #33. A team like Buffalo will snatch him up before we pick.
I agree, would be the dream pick. If we trade Burns for a first rounder we might have a shot.

How good is Lloyd Cushenberry III from the Broncos?

Lock is a solid younger backup. Makes sense

Or maybe good news if they want Burns instead of those two dudes for whatever reason
This is interesting and not unrealistic. They are known for big moves.

No Cam gets hate because of his appearance. Guy wears crazy hats and clothes so people hate on him for that reason. Cam is a cocky guy so that rubs some people the wrong way.
Ok I stand corrected, it has nothing to do with his delivery. Thank you for letting me know.

It’s amazing that Cam Newton, a former NFL MVP who played in a Super Bowl, catches more flack for his comments on NFL QB’s than Ryan Leaf, one of the biggest and most memorable busts in NFL history.
I don’t think you should discount Leaf because he busted 25 years ago. Do you really think he’s the same guy? I’ve only seen him once or twice in interviews, but he comes across as thoughtful guy.
One main reason Cam gets a lot of flack is his delivery, he’s a smart guy, but he doesn’t always come across that way.

The Athletic did a breakdown of Mayes and Daniels and the conclusion was that it is not even close, Daniels is way behind Mayes. Daniels is a great runner, but not as developed as a passer as they had thought. They did a comparison to Lamar due to similar playing style in College, and said the same thing, he is significantly behind where Lamar was as a passer, despite being older. I can’t find the article again as it was a while back, but it was really interesting.

The reporter in question is just embarrassing herself at this point, her agenda is obvious. Really weird overall. Didn’t she used to be a good source, or do I have that wrong?

Yep. BPA all the way.
I think o-line or wr will end up BPA, so that should work out well for us.

He’s a good player, but he needs someone really good across from him, so by default he’s not worth what he’s asking for. For what he’s asking for, he should be a game wrecker and he simply isn’t.

So we have 2 different versions of the truth(consensus pick to where we are now). Which one is it? Media and the Panthers are clowning us like the laughing stock that we are.
what we really should be questioning is why this, and why now? Who the hell drops a story like this in March? Besides coaching and GM changes, It’s been radio silence for 3 months and all of a sudden, ‘owners wife wanted the other guy’. where is the damage control voicing the confidence you said you had in Bryce last season? That he’s your dude. Superprocessing point guard.
Clown show.
I think it is one version of the truth. Fitt led the charge, and in the end it was a consensus. Nicole was not a decision maker (hence not included in the group with consensus), but also felt different.

Based on this thread he doesn’t sound like a guy that gets open quickly, so not a good fit imo, especially at 33.

How is his ability to separate and getting open?

Clowney coming home?

I don’t know if owned is a good way to describe it. They’ve been more than willing to overpay for players, but that’s very different.
