    A Parable.  By MHS.

Once in MHS land, there were two ways to get home from Lowe's.  MHS's wife, the evil scourge from Ohio, used to shriek, "Turn right!!! It is faster!!!"  MHS refused to give in to the evil scourge's unsubstantiated logic because he had a different, more direct path in mind.  That did not deter the evil scourge from scourging, until one day, the evil scourge's brother met us at Lowe's and she rode home with him, determined to get home more quickly with her Ohio State graduated brother.  They turned right.   Behind them, I turned left.  When they arrived at our home, the evil scourge's lair, I was already parked, inside the house, and feasting on a warm Pop Tart.  The evil scourge had been defeated.

Moral?  Sometimes, you think your way is the best way or the only way.  That makes you an evil scourge, blind to the ways of someone else, who might have a better way that your ego blinds you from considering.

    The End.

it’s amazing how often people get their knickers in a twist over making sure other people do even the most remedial things, like folding laundry or washing dishes, their way. there’s usually 500 different ways to do a thing, and they are all just as good.

    Yep exact same sh!t

”building through the draft” sounds great in theory but we’re once again just pissing away picks.

This team would be much better trading picks for proven talent. There were actual people here who didn’t want to trade 33 or 39 for Brandon Aiyuk.

Instead we got a RB and LB. The most Panthers draft ever

right, because no other teams have RBs and LBs.

The Panthers are so bad that the picks in the first 3 rounds should start if the front office is good

did you see the moves we made in free agency? the current roster is very different from the one we had last year.

From watching film and being a linebacker obsessed maniac for the last 22 years, here's what I can see in the kid.

    Pros

    - great athlete. Closing speed, ability to cover from hash to hash, can tell he understands the routes coming and likes to undercut them.

    - sure tackler. Now granted, I haven't seen a full game to truly judge this, but his form looks fine. He closes and hits and finishes from the clips I have seen, even on backs like Etienne.

    - seems to grasp blocking assignments and know generally where to go. When he does see it, he gets there in a hurry.

    - seems to enjoy blitzing and gets the fug after QBs

    Cons

    - doesn't always understand blocking assignments totally and thus, doesn't get downhill like you want to see. This could've been the way they coached their 4-2 as patience is a way to play it, but it's not how I would run a 4-2 (and I did in high school and college). Some may even say his patience is a good thing because that means he's not running himself out of the play and leaving a cutback lane. Bullshit. Linebackers getting downhill fast and violent is the play. Ray Lewis, Dan Morgan, Luke Kuechly, Zach Thomas, Brian Urlacher, all the greats dominated this way. He needs to find that every down.

    - unsure on his footwork. He does some hopping and sometimes stops his feet waiting to see where the hole is, and this is bad

    - pad level starts really high and in the NFL, this is how you die. RBs are about to be second level consistently fast. He's gotta be more aggressive downhill to solve this pad height issue.

cons seem to be things that are very coachable
