  1. if someone like Chop or JPJ happen to fall, i think you have to jump at 33. I even include Ladd here, because i don’t think he’ll make it to 39. if they’re all gone, then i think the trade down option becomes really tasty, and it means Nix or Penix are there for the taking. picking up next years 2nd, or maybe even a 1st from a desperate team will be a great bonus. another question is, would you rather have Ladd plus Zach Frazier, or JPJ plus Coleman or Pearsall? I lean toward Ladd and Frazier.
  2. is there a skunk rule in the NHL? Kings are seriously outclassed in this one.
  3. game started at 5:30AM where i am right now. i missed the 1st and came in right after it was 3-0. it could be that they were just waiting for me.
  4. yeah, they will have to have nerves of steel to come back from this. we can expect them to throw everything they have at us to start game 3. survive that, and the series is dunzo
  5. meanwhile, Edmonton is slapping the kings in the face
  6. 12 shots on goal for NYI is insane. how did they score 3 to begin with. they also blocked 35ish of our shots. grindy ass team.
  7. what a crazy finish. i don’t think i’ve ever seen both teams have to pull their goalie before.
  8. if Nix or Penix drops, there’s definite potential to drop down a few spots, still get a guy we like, and pick up an extra 3rd this year or 2nd next year. I wouldn’t want to drop too far, but a few spots for a 2 next year would be golden
  9. i think you have to grab ladd first to do that. my preference would be ladd and either top center who makes it to 33/39, but i wouldn’t be mad with two WR or ladd + TE
  10. are you talking about sports or corporate america? you just described half of the companies in silicon valley.
  11. don’t see Ladd McConkey on the list, so that must be who we are really targeting
  12. any sports business has the same goals: win championships, build the fan base, sell merch, etc; similar sub-divisions, scouting and talent evaluation, equipment management, stadium management, coaching, etc; similar business functions and strategies. it’s not until you get into the specifics of the sport that you really find any differences. i’d say it’s more like comparing gala apples to fuji apples, than apples to oranges. the challenges an NHL team has to become successful are largely the same as an NFL, just a different flavor.
  13. how is building a perennial champion quality NHL team any easier than an NFL team, much less ez mode as you suggest?
  14. of these, i definitely lean toward WR - Ladd McConkey, CB - Mike Sainristil
  15. 10 more days of mocks that will go off the rails by the third pick.
  16. i don’t care what he looks like either. what im commenting on is the constant flood of negativity that we get from certain posters. the thread posted a picture of Young going to the first offseason practice, and the first comments were unfounded negative bile. it makes the site damn near unusable. it has nothing to do with differing opinions. i don’t care if people think Young is a good or a bad QB, but if you’re going to post about an option one way or another, base it on something factual, and not just pure negativity.
  17. i have no idea, and frankly don’t give a fug how big he looks.
  18. would you prefer saying that people are calling him “smaller” without any facts? is that a better word than data? pick your favorite flavor of making things up and then giving someone poo about it.
  19. i’m on the other side of the world right now. it’s 6PM here. i wasn’t defending Young, i just wasn’t shitting on him based on hyperbole, like the hate squad likes to do. you have no data, just hate. if there’s data that shows Young is smaller, than by all means give him crap about it. you don’t have any real information, just venomous spew.
  20. that’s really all you need to say, no need add an context. it’s the same comment on pretty much everything
