I don't like the Teddy comparisons but there are some parallels in terms of all the short attempts at or within 10 yards of the LOS. And others have noted Bryce Young has looked different throwing deep since the conclusion of Alabama's 2021 season.

I'll still argue you can work more with "kinda inaccurate deep" than "Can't go deep at all" which is why I'll give any legs to the Teddy comparisons.

And yeah the answer is obvious - he lost JMo. Nothing wrong with having an elite deep threat.

I hope so but I need to see it. I'm out of hope.

And that's cool man that's great, but why do you constantly berate people who aren't out of Hope?

That's literally the point of most of these arguments -- we're hopeful our QB can improve with our bad team. Seen it with Tua, seen it with Geno, seen it with Jared. Why can't it happen to Bryce? None of the height issues have been a problem and "kinda innacurate deep" is much more manageable. Matt Ryan made it to a superbowl.

Ask yourself this. Why does Bryce Young still look as ineffective throwing deep as he did back in fanfest at BOA when he Corral and Dalton all went through the same passing drills and both looked better than him throwing deep? Remind me. Where is Corrall right now?

Because he's a rookie. You're really going to compare an early practice with game 5 in his rookie season on a bad team then idk man.

Nobody's saying it won't remain a problem but also even if it is...there's other things to bild around Bryce with? At least he CAN throw deep, unlike Teddy who couldn't and wouldn't?

Looks like the huddle is getting plenty of clicks. But there are people here who simply will not tolerate others not following the carefully crafted narrative that tiptoes around Bryce Young have basically zero deep passing ability.

Yeah okay see that's a hyperbole. That's false. Bryce has deep passing ability.

    but also

Both Bryce and the Panthers offensive unit can do better to take more efficient deep shots.

People combating putting all the blame on Bryce are just tried of arguing that it may not just be all on the rookie QB on a bad team.

Based on what? Where is the actual proof that he can effectively throw deep in the NFL?

None yet, but he's taking the shots and it's his...5th game? 3rd game with his only deep threat on the roster and we're a team with notably bad o-line play and provably bad seperation.

Can he take more risks? Yeah sure but like it's game fuging 6 and there's other things you absolutely can build on. The fact that he is taking deep shots and they are relatively close give me more optimism than concern but like, heaven forbid if people say that.

I am talking about what sullivan has said 3x now a little halfway through.   This is my 3rd or 4rth sullivan video watch and I am getting his overall vibe.

No I get it, it is a common theme in his videos and it's worth discussing.

I think it is absolutely worth a discussion if Bryce is accurate deep. But I don't think it's a Teddy "he just won't" situation.

  7. I do think we've gotten most of the "Clearly better than us" teams out of the way. Guess it depends on how we look on defense after er get healthy and if Bryce continues to progress.

We aren't gonna win poo without better line play on both sides of the ball though. We're absolutely worthless in the trenches.

In the NFL you have to do it though. He made a nice earlier throw stepping into a shot. He isn’t scared. He’s just showing he physically isn’t good enough  until he shows otherwise.

Bullshit there's plenty of instances of QBs who miss passes/throw inaccurately  because they couldn't step up into a pass. It wasn't a pass that couldn't get there, it was overthrown. He just didn't accurately place it because of the pressure.

I'd definitely argue that Bryce's dep accuracy is his weakspot, but also our ability to go deep consistently lives and dies with Chark right now. This deep game is whack for a lot of reasons and it's not just Bryce.

Since Tepper has taken over we are literally the worst franchise in the NFL.  But yeah we are totally being reactionary

Saying our QB will never throw for 300 yards is reactionary lol.

It's really easy though, if you don't support Tepper or his actions, stop watching and supporting the Panthers.

Wow great advice thanks, I’ll just stop being a fan and only talk about the team when they’re good, thank you Mr Tepper

I'm literally here talking abt the team after watching them suck for 3 hours. What are you talking abt lol.

I'm just not acting like it's the end of the world. Team's bad, there's a lot of reasons why it's bad, I'm just not putting all the balme or expectations on a rookie QB.

But thanks for missing the point.

All we have to do is surround Bryce with the best offensive supporting cast in football? That's not a guy you make a massive trade up to get. Because when you make that trade you greatly reduce your ability to create that situation.

I mean it's happening to the other former Alabama QB too. Look at Jalen Hurts first two years.

I don't think "Getting two elite weapons and letting the rest figure itself out." is a bad plan. Just...really hard without that FRP. Both Eagles and Dolphins were able to draft one and trade for the other weapon.

This rebuild as a whole has been poorly planned.
