If it were all about that, he wouldn’t even be entertaining Carolina from the start. He’s an extreme mommas boy, or atleast he used to be, and loves South Carolina. I think if the panthers were even in the playoff conversation he would have been signed by now. Still a decent shot though due to the location factor
I hope you are right! He is a much needed piece of the puzzle.

He'll sign with the Jets.
Was thinking the same. Have the opportunity to play with the Hall of Fame quarterback leading your team.
Or play on team that won two games last year and has been in constant disarray since 2018.- 1

So basically by time we get a system in place for Bryce to thrive in, he will be due a second contract and not be affordable in the system anymore
Correct which is why the Panthers need to keep drafting/bringing in young QB’s to develop to take over when Young expects to be paid. Maybe the days of having a QB for 8-10 years are over due to the costs associated with doing that……unless they are legit like a Mahomes, Rodger’s, Manning, Brees and etc.

This is on Tepper.

I thought he was a 3rd?
Seifarts parting gift was the 2001 draft: Morgan in the 1st, Jenkins in the 2nd and 89 in the 3rd.

Equally big question is Bryce Young any good? If he equals what he did this past season the Panthers will only continue to be historically bad. I sure I am wrong about him.

Kris Jenkins….was a 2nd

Let’s Trade Burns to Chicago for DJ and their 1st rounder! LOL.

A year ago at this time we all thought the oline was a strength. 2023 was a terrible year and many players looked bad especially on offense. There were so many injuries on the oline and a revolving door at LG and RG. This impacted the entire line. I also think the rookie QB did not help the oline situation.
All this to say I think there are some pieces of the oline that are good enough to build on…I still think Icky can play but maybe not at LT. This team Has so many holes it is going to be difficult to fill all of them in one offseason. The Rhule/Fitterer years decimated the talent in this team. They traded away so many draft picks for marginal players. Let’s hope Morgan can get the “dawgs” he is looking for and start building a foundation….and Tepper will keep his meddling ways away from the Panthers and focus on his other business and let the people he hired do their jobs.- 1

Why did it take this long to fire this dude?

Stroud made the Texans better. He is a big part of their successful season. He is a good kid…his mom did a great job raising him. I wish the Panthers had drafted him.
-
We will find out soon enough.
If they continue to lose and look no better than the past few years we will find out in a hurry if Tepper will continue to meddle. The man needs to give Morgan and Canales time….the Rhule years decimated this team. You can’t fix it overnight.

What does an Executive VP of Football Operations do, and how will this help the Panthers put a winning team together? Does he report to Morgan or Tepper?

Also “Panther sis” was Shayne Graham’s sister when he was filling in for John Kasey one year. Shayne went on to have a good career in Cincinnati.
Pretty sure Dan Morgan’s name was DM4455 or something like that. Those were his two jersey numbers. -

I think he was talking about Luke. Morgan didn't officially retire due to concussions it was other injuries and he played for the Saints after Hurney cut him loose.
Remember when Karl Hankton came on here too…Big Hank.
Also pretty sure Derek Carr was on here when big brother David played for the Panthers for one season. He is quite a bit younger than David so he would have been a teenager.

This past season, it was said there were several coaches who wanted to bench Young and play Dalton. This idea was rejected by whomever was in charge but one would have to say it was Fitterer and Tepper. Since the HC, QB coach and RB coach were fired it is assumed they were part of the coaches that wanted Young benched. It was said that Tepper demanded that they fix Young last year and when it did not happen he fired them. I hope Tepper is not setting up the new HC for failure by basing his success on if he can fix Young.
The Panthers need to start winning with Young or without Young. So yes, there needs to be a plan B.

Was that before or after one of our most beloved players retired early because of concussions?
Trolls are inevitable but I worry about a Streisand effect because of this thread
Dan was on here after retiring

A couple of interesting nuggets here. Brinson and the other guy say that Reich didn't want Brown as his OC and only hired him because Tepper wanted a rockstar/all-star. They also say they think Tepper will do his best to let Morgan and Canales do their own thing this year. Then they go on to say if it doesn't work out, Tepper will start meddling again.
Tepper needs to be patient. This team has a serious lack of talent and it is going to take time. If Tepper starts meddling it will only set the team back even further. The weekly sit down meetings need to end so the coach can do his job. Frank gave us an inside the tent look in his final days of how Tepper is.
The Rhule years set this team back in many ways. Frank never had a chance. Let’s hope Canales is provided the players and time needed to be successful. And let’s hope they bring in some QB competition so that if Bryce is not “it” we don’t have to watch another season like the last one.- 1

The scheme was Brown, but it's fair to blame Reich for allowing it to continue.
My big question with Frank will always be how different might it have been had he been allowed full freedom to choose his own staff rather than being nudged toward hiring the "All-Star" group that we did.
This along with if he had been able to pick the QB he wanted…..Stroud.

If Tepper did not make the decision than I am for it.

He is now my #1 HC candidate. This team is soft and doesn’t know how to win. They need a complete culture change. Vrabel would establish a tough no nonsense team and establish an identity. There is no way he puts up with meddling owner. I think he and Morgan could be a promising team.

Did Scott Fitterer draft any good players?
in Carolina Panthers
Posted
Other than Luvu what free agent players did Fitterer sign that were any good? He did not draft well and did not sign good players either. One reason why the Panthers have been terrible the past 4+ years.
