  1. Bryce is not playing like Bryce before the benching.

There was a level of temerity there that honestly I didn't think he had it in him to overcome. He was playing scared, like the game was too big for him.

Bryce before the benching would not have been able to deliver a throw knowing he was going to get hit. Bryce after the benching steps up into pressure, keeps his eyes down field and delivers an accurate strike, and then gets leveled.

When Bryce before the benching ran, he looked like he was fleeing. Bryce after the benching looks like he's escaping.

There's no other way to describe it. I'm not looking at the same player before and after the benching. I don't know what the cause for it is, but Bryce is playing with confidence, excitement, and playing the game at a very high level. I never would have believed I'd be saying this earlier this season, but I think he's our QB.

  2. I don't think anyone expected to be the Philly game to be as close as it was. So maybe (just speculating!) we saw this as an opportunity to rest up our borderline healthy players to get ready for what on paper anyway looks like a much more winnable game, against Dallas, in front of home fans.

I wonder how many players wouldn't have scratched if we knew it was going to come down to the final drive.

  3. Photo finish with a legit title contender. You have to ba happy with the showing if not the outcome. (Honestly, "the better team lost today" is the best outcome we can hope for the rest of the season! I'm here for it!)

And I'd like to remind people that we are missing several of our best players due to injury. If we bring this intensity to next season, and can keep our playmakers healthy (and we put stick'em on XL's hands) we have the makings of a really solid team.

  4. He needs to work on hands catching, otherwise he's what I'd expect from a rookie with a lot of upside. Good routes. Good speed. But I just can't understand why he makes routine catches look so difficult. Throw one up for him to high point, and all of a sudden he starts leaping, twisting and contorting his body like you just tossed a cat in the air.

Honestly, I think it's a confidence thing. Some more plays, some more TDs and the game will slow down a bit for him and he won't have to try so hard.
