Seeing a tight end group without Ian Thomas warms my heart.

Heard the Steelers fans celebrating, "Now the other team won't be able to guess run/pass based on Pickens' body posture."

Yeah, I get them getting involved. The husband not so much. Imagine airing ALL your dirty laundry for what will probably be a $20k payday after fees.
Maybe it's just me, but I ain't putting my personal life out there for used Hyundai money.

Oh, man. Hearing "Muhammad!" from the play by play announcer just unlocked a core memory for me. That brought me right back to the call of the 85-yarder in the Super Bowl, which just lives deeply in my psyche.
"Looking. Looking. Gonna go deep. Has his man WIDE OPEN. It's Muhammad. MUHAMMAD! To the 15, 10, 5, Touchdown!"
Okay, I now have an active rooting interest in him making this roster. I need that back in my life.

Don't want.
Obviously. David Newton thinks it's a good pick.
On a more serious note, Shadeur Sanders at 57.

I am sensing a trend here and oh by the way the cowboys think Mingo can be a good wr. hmmmmm
I think there's a big difference between "the Cowboy wanted T-Mac" and "Micah Parsons wanted T-Mac."
If Luke Kuechly had said he wanted a player, I'd listen regardless of who our idiot GM was at the time.

I think this is a vote of no confidence in XL.
Tet has something that XL seemed to struggle with, and in fact most of our receivers room struggled with (besides Coker) and that's SURE HANDS. McMillan is big and catches like it's his nature. I think he'll be a great weapon for Bryce.

We probably stay put. I just don't see many teams itching to trade up in this draft.
Maybe if Will Campbell or Armand Membou fall to #8 a team like the Bears, 49ers or Dolphins could look to move up, but even that seems doubtful, IMO.
Or Mason Graham. If he falls to 8, I'm sure we could find someone who wants to move up and grab him.
But something crazy needs to happen for us to trade. If the chips fall where expected, we'll pick at 8 and won't be able to trade out.

A lot of final mocks now have Walker gone before we pick.
Yeah, I've been getting hype about Jalen Walker... which means we won't get him.
I think Rich Eisen just mocked him to the Raiders. I feel like his stock has been climbing the last few days. If they do, or if the Giants do something wild at 3, it could definitely set off chaos.

Yeah he's not better than JSN
Valid. I phrased that wrong. I meant their WR situation is miles better than what they had before. That's now a very scary WR group, in my opinion. Justin Jefferson it ain't, but Darnold's got pieces to be successful if he doesn't come crashing back down to Earth.

Darnold needed a target. He got one. Kupp isn't what he used to be but he's miles better than what they had.

"Hey, Jaycee! Congratulations. Obviously a contract like that signals that you've really arrived as a bona fide star in the league. You come from an NFL family, and your dad was a star in his own right. So what has been the reaction from the family to this pivotal moment in your career?"
It's really not hard.

This is awesome! I don't even care what he costs. No expense should be spared in rebuilding the Thunder Cats.

highest paid DB....so far.....
Lots of guys are about to get paid, we just set the market.
...That's actually a very, very valid point. It's much better to get this deal done before the others got their bag, and the price tag shot up.

If he has surgery he's not playing his rookie season.
We're not contending in his rookie season. So I guess it depends on how valuable he would be to the future of the organization.

I like the pick, Warren has been compared to Greg Olsen by several draft nerds.
I remember being FURIOUS that we passed on Olsen to take Beason. And, well, that all worked out for the best. So I hope we do likewise this time around again.

Getting Cam Scattyboo in the 5th would be a coup.

I didn't watch either game today. I knew this snooze fest of a Super Bowl was a certainty. I hope there are about 100 million people living in KC and Philly to make up their viewership because I'm going to skip this SB and I know I'm not alone.
I honestly don't think watching this Super Bowl would be the most interesting thing to happen to me that day. I have a good BM in the morning and I don't think watching Kendrick and another KC title is even in the running for second.

He can run good routes. He can get open. But he needs to work on his hands. Some of the catches he made this year were routine catches that for some reason he makes look like circus catches. You see Bryce favoring Thielen in the highlights when both are open, or sometimes even when AT isn't open. I think it's fair to say even Bryce is questioning his reliability, and that's going to hamper his career if he doesn't tighten up that aspect of his game.
XL is miles away from a "bust" conversation, but the fact is down the stretch he was outplayed by and trusted less than the UDFA WR on the roster.

Well if it's a done deal, I'm gonna lean HEAVILY on the copewagon that he was without Derrick Brown and Shaq. The biggest knock against this D was the utter inability to stop the run, and the centerpiece of our defensive line and the only non-JAG LB in our corps probably had something to do with that.
Hopefully we address the lack of talent in FA and draft and with the right pieces, Evero can put together a solid D. It's a tall order to turn around in a year, but again, we're DRAMATICALLY improving our defense just by getting 2 linchpin pieces healthy.

Among the unrestricted:
Keep:
- QB Andy Dalton - He's good for Bryce's development, and great to have as a backup
- TE Tommy Tremble - Good locker room energy. And we will need a run blocking TE once Ian is finally gone.
- LB Shaq Thompson - Home team discount
- CB Mike Jackson - Was asked to do a lot. I like how he plays.
- P Johnny Hekker - If the price is right
- LS JJ Jansen - No one better suggest otherwise. This man is a legend!
- S Sam Franklin - Good depth for the right price
Pound Sand:
- C Austin Corbett
- C Brady Christensen - He's already talking about wanting to make the move that's best for his family. Let him test the waters. I don't see commitment to the team here.
- TE Ian Thomas - F***ing FINALLY
- TE Feleipe Franks
- WR David Moore - Good player, but ultimately a JAG. Replaceable.
- RB Mike Boone
- DE DeShawn Williams
- OLB Cam Gill
- CB Caleb Farley
- S Xavier Woods - Unfortunately he's an ideal player for a bygone era. I feel like I remember more penalties against him than positive plays. And more than once I saw him wind up for a Madden 2004 "hit stick" tackle only to completely whiff. The entire safety room needs a refresh. We need guys who force fumbles, not punishers.
- S Jordan Fuller
- S Nick Scott
- S Lonnie Johnson
- K Eddy Piñeiro - Sorry, I want a kicker who's good from 55+. I saw too many games this year decided by a last-30-seconds-of-regulation drive to the opponent's 40 to set up a game-winner. Eddy is never gonna be that guy.

Rodgers to Pittsburgh confirmed
in Carolina Panthers
Posted
I guess he's used to is from his Green Bay career, but I just can't imagine signing up for a frigid season in Pittsburgh when there were probably several dome teams who'd be happy to have him.
