Will use technology to make smarter decisions.
Going to look for every competitive advantage they can find.

Says his initial interview was with Tepper about the cap and analytics. Not much football at that point.

Right now a lot of that market is really mired in the various networks of fan sites(all behind paywalls) for specific teams. Rivals, 247/Scout, etc. A lot of them have free message boards and have for more than a decade, so the majority of those communities are fairly committed to them.
So we do it better then, like this joint.

How about creating a whole different site, and taking over/becoming the authority of NCAA football in the region? I'm sure you don't have time for it, but with your knowledge of running this site and being the authority for the Panthers is valuable experience (and maybe a little investment) + another person with a true passion for NCAA football/time to learn how to grow a community ( and maybe a little investment of their own) might be a cool idea.
I'd be up for providing the infrastructure and such if someone wanted to spearhead the initiative.

With how they are diminishing teddy through their words they are really backing themselves into a corner.
They 100% have to have a different answer in 2021 at QB or the fans are gonna revolt.

I also recall repeatedly reading that he was heavily advised by people both inside and outside of the organization to keep Rivera, so I don't blame him given he needed time to ramp up.
That is true.

My folks live in the Tampa Bay area and every damn day I am trying to get them an appointment to get them vaccinated but there is no vaccine to give.

We really cannot get anything out of this news without knowing the details of each contract.
My gut says the Panthers offered him league minimum. Pittsburgh a little more.

Atlanta: Terry Fontenot
Carolina: Scott Fitterer
Denver: George Paton
Detroit: Brad Holmes

If you had the first question, what would it be?

The Carolina Panthers media recently spoke to owner David Tepper about his recent hire of Scott Fitterer in the role of Panthers GM.
Here is a breakdown of what was said and my opinion of what is happening between the lines.
- Tepper confirmed he spoke to 12 outside candidates and 2 internal candidates. He confirmed what I had posted last week, these interviews were as much about him learning what he wanted in a GM as much as learning about the GM candidates.
- Scott Fitterer is regarded as excellent evaluator, something Marty Hurney himself recently has said he was not.
- Fitterer has experience in draft room for Seattle. Tepper put emphasis on Seattle's luck in drafting later rounds and would like to see the Carolina Panthers improve in this area. (amen)
- Fitterer has experience with salary cap strategy in Seattle.
- Tepper likes Seattle's flat organizational style, meaning fewer levels of management and more direct information flow. Less supervision and more delegation to employees to do their jobs.
- Tepper mentioned Seattle has the second best record over past several years next to New England. He adds without prompting "It doesn't hurt to have a QB that can take you there" which can easily be seen as him not being satisfied with the current QB situation.
- Tepper mentioned he likes a GM that will challenge the coaching staff. Fitterer certainly has the credentials to do so.
At the end of the interview, Tepper reflected on his first seasons here and confirmed what many of us had suspected. He screwed the pooch. I imagine what he is referring to mostly here is keeping Rivera for a season too long and even worse keeping Hurney two seasons too long. That is precious wasted time.
The good news here is that Tepper recognizes his own misgivings. Not every owner would own up to it, most would not. Tepper concludes by saying he hopes the Rhule and Fitterer hiring are among his best when all is said and done.

Trust me.
The guys that work in the org want Deshaun as much or more than any of us do.

Tepper speaks on the record about the GM and also comments on QB
Notice the line "it doesn't hurt to have a QB that can take you there" referencing the Superbowl.
Doesn't take much to read between the lines here.
We getting a QB, ladies and gents.
