Schefter’s report confirmed by Joe Person.

Tepper apparently used this same firm to hire the Charlotte FC coach and they’ve also helped the Rams, 49ers and Atlanta in recent years with their hires. He also confirms that Dan Morgan will be apart of the transition regardless of what happens with Fitterer (which reads to me like he’s gone).

That does sound like Fitterer is gone...

Has Bosa lived up to his contract this year?

He's not even in the DPOTY discussion despite being the highest paid defensive player in NFL history. You don't see 49ers fans bashing Bosa.

Bosa has twice the QB hits and more sacks in his 'down' year.  He's just a more complete player

Burns doesn't deserve what he's asking for, if he really wants 30 mil+.

Coordinators who can't coordinate for poo, sure. Our offense took a nosedive from an NYFD firefighter and secondary coach as head coach. Money isn't everything.

Tepper is the ultimate square peg guy.

Eh Evero is a good coordinator. But he doesn't have great pieces for his scheme. Possible Brown is the same, hard to tell. Evero's D, between injuries and the shittiness of our offense, is working under impossible strain and still doing OK. Good enough to repeatedly put us in position to win games with even an average offense.

A multitude of bad decisions led to the self inflicted tear down of our post-Cam rebuild around CMC..we could easily be where the 49ers are now.

First off, we kept Rivera (& Hurney) too long

Hired Rhule and gave him Belicheck level control. And he obviously had no idea how to utilize CMC and build around him and DJ.

We had the parts…then hired people that didn’t know how to build with them. They made it an endless, frantic, needy QB search instead and countless reaches for RAS stars..not who worked best for the team with a distinct vision in mind.

It’s been endless chaos all trying to force a QB rather than build a team.

The degree of compounding errors has been insane... And it all comes down to Tepper's impatience. From moving on from Cam to Teddy to Darnold (and the extension) ... To Mayfield... To Bryce...

The total compensation in dollars and draft picks we've spent on QBs since Tepper is deeply depressing

well, I still say a competent GM can come in and handle everything.  We don't need to carve out part of their job and give it to Tepper's lap dog.  Job is already unattractive enough. That's just one more body in house to side with Tepper and not stand against him.  And Fitterer would really owe Tepper for that.

so yeah, it could happen.  Everyone IMO should be 100% against it.

sounds like something tepper would do. going to assemble the allstar front office with a million cooks.

I would love it if one of the players was like " yeah he's a dick".

never gonna happen... the vast majority of NFL players are far more mature than Tepper, and all of 'em know what would happen if they crossed an owner like that.

only a game left, got to think that is the big factor in Tepper's lack of reaction.  Tabor just has to get through a week of pressers and then no one outside of Charlotte is going to care.  Heck, people in Charlotte are ready for this season nightmare to end.  Tepper is likely fine with that.

the NFL is gonna do something, they have to. This isn't just a Charlotte thing, it's all over the NFL.

you're probably right on the one game left thing tho... Tepper should still own up to it and apologize.

    They should say ‘no comment’

    ’above my pay grade’

just dont participate in the feeding frenzy

they shouldn't be forced to be the first people in the org to comment, even if the comment is "no comment." it really isn't fair to them.

I would AR is leaning bust too. He was even more averse to throwing downfield than Bryce when he was knocked out for good.

Then you factor in how injury prone he was when he plays like Cam/Allen.

So, not that it matters, but we only had a 1/3 shot(most likely) of success.

I dunno man, AR has 3 2+ TD games ... in only 4 games. For a rookie.

While you're right about being somewhat adverse throwing downfield, for him, it isn't an arm strength issue, at least.  And he's only 21...

I would def be worried about injuries tho.

Michigan wasn’t near my #1 because they played a pretty easy schedule and the Big Ten is comparatively weak, IMO.

Are they the best of that weak bunch and did they have a better resume than FSU? 1000%.

I get it, FSU supporters are super butthurt and they want to lash out and blame everyone else but themselves.

But, you get no sympathy from me when 29 players opt out but most of UGa's roster showed. I guess not only does FSU not have much in the way of depth but they clearly have a lot of issues with their team culture.

Modern FSU is just another ACC flash in the pan. They aren’t anything like Clemson, who did rule the conference for several years and make multiple playoff appearances.

So I basically agree with you on the relative merit of FSU overall, but man, good for those players for opting out. Why risk significant injury in a basically-worthless bowl game?

I am not even sure he thinks it's his decisions that are the problem. He strikes me as the sort of person that likely thinks it was other people that failed him.

my comment was based on the (supposedly credible) reports of him taking responsibility. I've learned that just 'cause someone accept responsibility doesn't mean poo if they don't change the fuging behavior that lead to them needing to take responsibility in the first place!

It's being obvious to everyone but him that he's the problem

and I do not for a second think Tepper believes he's the problem. I think he thinks his decisions were the problem.  There's a massive difference there, because he'll just "buckle down" and try to figure it out himself, instead of doing the smart thing and "firing" himself and getting a football person in to take over.

Trading up wasn’t bad. You just can’t miss on that pick. Stroud or AR should have been the pick

Ugh, to think that of the three options we picked the worse one... Hell, the worst QB in the entire class so far...

With AR, we are probably still drafting #1 just because of his injury. But man, he looked so dynamic when he was playing.  So much to look forward to.

Stroud probably has this team in the playoff hunt until the last couple weeks of the season (because our division sucks) and we still probably have Reich as a coach lol. I think our offensive weapons aren't good, but aren't nearly as bad as people say, which is why when BY was "on" for a couple quarters, they looked pretty good.  Decent QB play elevates everyone...

Oh I concur 100% we need to actually build an offense and stop thinking we can just drop in a QB.

All I'm saying is while I like Bryce Young the person. This offense is seriously limited with him. Defenses know this as much as we do.

Chark certainly has questionable hands but this is just a butt ugly offense. And honestly as bad as Chark has been. Bryce throws some wobbly ducks out there.

At the end of the day I think if we got to see a few more games of Andy Dalton we would be arguing we need less offensive pieces than we think. The mere mention of that will enrage certain people but that's where I'm at.

I was joking. Mike is a fiery kind of guy to a degree from what I've seen of his on field personality. I am honestly surprised we haven't had any blow ups with how awful this season has gone. Remember when DJ Moore publicly challenged our staff? Looks like he did himself a favor. I sincerely hope we can improve next year or the odds of locker room turmoil will increase substantially.

oh for sure, lol, Bryce has thrown some terrible passes. no point in arguing which of them has been worse. Certainly Bryce is the bigger disappointment given the investment in him.

Fwiw I agree in principle on your Dalton comment but I think that we'd still see how bad the offense is, and that we are lacking in a true receiving threat.

Things can turn around very quickly in the NFL with the right coaching and a couple key players (and notably, better QB play, how ever we achieve that), but with Fitterer looking to be safe, I don't think we need to worry about that happening.

I don't think Tepper pushed for a DB in the top 10.  I don't think he pushed for a run centric LT.   I don't think he pushed for TMJ, Mingo, and on and on.

I think he pushed for Bryce Young.

Lot of this is just Fitt.  Big stuff Tepper.  That's my take.

I think BY is a direct response to the fact Tepper let his people pass on a certain QB during the 2021 draft... He saw what happened and was determined not to let it happen again.
