I said emphatically that the franchises fortunes would not change until the scouting dept was overhauled. Way too many misses on draft picks.

Mr Scot and Juan both said to wait until after the draft. Glad to see it happen.

I was wondering about this so good to know they are going in a whole different direction altogether.

Worse drafts than even Marty Hurney? Yeah.... see ya.

It was the pro scouts, still have the same college scouts as of now.

Awww, did her get her panties in a twist? So what position did you play on the girls field hockey team? And I played in college as well, football. And if your friends are on the Panthers staff, no wonder your opinions are so dumb. Your opinions align well with how horrific they evaluate talent.

And the great talent evaluator Steve Smith, who is completely wrong about 70% of all WR's he evaluates says one thing, and any opinion contrary to that isn't discussing football intelligently?

    Prick huh?

I have no clue if the kid will even make the team odds are against him, but I'm rooting for him. He has his foot in the door and a great opportunity thanks to the less than stellar WR corp we have. It's fun to root for the underdog.

The draft is football Christmas where all the fans get shiny new players on their team. Good UDFAs are like the presents your parents forgot they hid away and give to you a few days later once they realize their mistake. Coker could be a Nerf blaster dude, you know how bad we want one of those.

Don't scrooge up my football Christmas dog.

This is hilarious. Coker has basically zero NFL traits. He's extremely slow on breaking routes. No route nuance at all. He looked marginally okay playing against CB's who compared to NFL CB's couldn't cover a bed with a blanket. The only wins you see watching him is blown coverages and him winning against tiny, undersized glorified high school level CB's with a good majority him commiting OPI that would be called routinely in the NFL.

There were 30-40 better targets for an UDFA contract. But the awesome Panthers scouting department poops the bed again.

Fast 10 yard split (#4 in the class)

Huge Verticle (#1 in the class)

Great Broad Jump (#9 in the class)

Good hand size and arm length.

    Dude isn't a burner but he's explosive.

None of those are NFL traits though.

Coker will have a great mentor in Theilen.  Theilen was an undrafted rookie as well.

Each year I pick  UDFA that makes the team or PS. Coker is my man in 2024.

Outside of Smitty really liking him I love that he's a great route runner.

There's plenty of room on the Coker bus for everyone. Glad others are excited for him too.

I'm not even sure with the guard upgrades and the question at C that we'll even be some kinda zone scheme juggernaut. I still think we fuged up going away from the power run game that worked with Wilks for no reason other than coaching hubris

From what I've read from Colts fans, Zone blocking isn't bad, but Frank's version is overly complicated and hard on lineman. I think it will be better by default, but can't say definitely how much.

    Certainly can't get much worse.

  6. I was initially on the get rid of Sanders train but I've been convinced to eat the poo sandwich that Fitt gave us.

Monetarily it makes no sense to get rid of him, he has experience, and his replacement is coming off a significant knee injury so we can ease him back without urgency so he can get completely healthy.

On top of that, RBs get hurt all the time so it doesn't hurt to have Sanders in case Chuba goes down before Brooks is ready.

I am not disagreeing with any of that.  But its patently clear that at 32 beane reached out to morgan and fuged with him a bit.  The bills dont care about the 5th option and wanted to see what they could get from morgan for 33/32.  They knew who we wanted.  That also gave them negotiating power for 33 if they wanted to trade.  Its just a friend who is more experienced then you fuging around.  Kudos to him, I hope morgan learns from it.  As I said since yesterday the 5th year option isnt some magic cheat code, if it was you would see more trade ups to utilize it.   If it held all this incredible leverage then the bills simply would have got coleman and held on to the 5th.  I just dont think teams give 2 chits about something 5 years down the road

Yeah man, Beane really fuged us for that...

    *Checks notes*

    5th round pick.

fug, how will we ever recover?

I thought young was a complete fug up of a pick

I thought Chandler Z was the key to our guard problem

"Why the hell do we need another MLB? We already have Beason!" - Me

"Rashaan Gaulden won't even make it through his rookie contract" - Also me.

We are all brilliant and idiotic because we are football fans.

Me too. I'm ok with all the offensive picks, but the defensive picks kinda have me scratching my head. I think it's likely they are scheme fits for Evero and guys he really wanted.

He's a 7th rounder, probably going to play STs and nothing more. Not flashy, but needed to fill out a roster.
