I mean, he has not looked remotely the same after his stretch of games where he went off. Even when he was given a lot of carries after Chuba came back. Just from the eye test he looked much slower and wasn't breaking any tackles

What about Kayden McDonald? I don't watch a ton of college football, so genuinely asking, I just have heard his named mentioned in some stuff as a possible pick. Not an edge player though, but maybe it frees up DB more

XL had the worst sideline awareness I've ever seen past the HS level.
The only balls he should see are on gadget plays like that last one. Try to get hin the ball in space for YAC opportunities but having this guy trying to do real WR stuff just ain't it.
Agreed, and thats saying something when we've seen Mingo...

It is interesting how the games changed over the past 10-15 years. I mainly started watching football in like 2010 or so. I feel like every week there were QBs throwing for 400+, 300 yards was a pedestrian day it felt like. Now even the best qbs dont throw for 300 super often it feels.

I know teams have been selling out to stop the run, but Ricos kind of fallen off a cliff.. not sure if hes hurt or just worn down but even when theres a hole he doesnt look anything like he did those few weeks prior.

And that’s why I said no roster control.
Broncos he was too young (still got the best out of Kyle Orton)
raiders are impossible.
give him a title, let him run an offense, and limit his roster control. It’s exactly what they’ve done with Canales.
Unfortunately for us, we may also be falling into that impossible category lol

Yeah drake mayes offensive coordinator what a weird notion
Never said he was a bad offensive coordinator, but he's not a head coach, we've seen that play out in two places now

if tepper wisens up, dumps Canales ass, we let "bryce explore other options," decide Morgan gets to stay and retain final say over rosters, Josh McDaniels would be perfect in Carolina.
Josh McDaniels? You're just ragebaiting at this point

Pete Carroll? I know hes old and they dont look great, I dont really follow the coaching rumors but people think hes gone after only a year?

Cam Ward is... yeesh. Worse than Bryce rookie year bad. This is my fear with Sellers. Cam should probably have sat and watched this year
Hes not young though, hes a 23 year old rookie

That drive is why I'm not a big believer in Brock Purdy. Mac Jones goes 5/5 for 77 yards and a TD on the opening drive in that Niners offense.
They certainly make offensive football look simple compared to us lol

I’d love to hear a detailed argument as to why Dan Morgan should keep his job
Especially if we’re planning to restart again
Yeah Im kind of in the boat of a full house cleaning. I feel like we have been trapped in this off cycle replacement of GMs/HCs ever since we kept Hurney around after firing Ron.
I worry though who would come here, especially from the HC angle if Canales only gets two years, and not with his own QB. I think Im in the camp of fire both this year, or give one more year with their choice of QB and see if its any different.I do wonder if Canales regrets declaring BY "our guy" last year when he was on his "good" run. He may have tied himself to the hip with that one.

I mean Ron was fine, but instead of yelling at halftime when they were blown out by Pittsburgh, Id prefer he use a bit more smarts and not put Donte Jackson on prime AB 1 on 1 and then be mad when he gets torched

I think Tepper gave Canales the window to move on from BY last season after 2 games and end the BY experiment.
I think Morgan for whatever reason wouldn't part w/ the QB HE drafted with Fitterer and it cameback to screw Canales.
I don't see how Tepper can essentially treat Canales like a brand new start/era in year 3 at this point. Bryce got tied to him this year.
Yeah, he did kind of tie himself last year, saying he was our guy, at the same time though, I know its only perception and maybe it doesnt matter/shouldnt affect Teppers decision, but blowing another headcoach out so quickly is not going to look good. I know its 1/32 and feels like it doesnt matter and coaches will come and try regardless, I just wonder if at some point that ends up mattering, or maybe it has already since Canales wasnt exactly sought after.
-
Assuming he plays like he did on Sunday rather than what he was down the stretch last year, I'd think it would depend on how the conversations behind closed doors go between Canales and Tepper. If Canales feels like he's on the brink of being fired, he probably pulls the plug quicker. If he has some assurances from Tepper that he will give him time, possibly allow him to draft his own QB for year 3, than he probably rides BY out to 100% know if they want to draft a guy or not.

Can the defense walk up to the line and clap like that lol? Im pretty sure thats not supposed to be allowed

Good breakdown, probably the most positive of Bryce of all the breakdowns so far, but still pointed out the bad throws/mistakes. He seemed overall super happy and said it multiple times that this is what we were expecting to see more of coming out of Alabama. One game, but definitely a step forward

It's tough to call plays and manage the clock. He really needs to work on giving up playcalling duties.
He gets cut off at 15 seconds of the playclock, after that, what else is he doing besides watching the clock? Every head coach does it
-
How does a HC not take a time out there, everyone in the stadium saw the playclock ticking down except him, its crazy

Sorry if this been posted somewhere, I searched and didn't see it but wanted to pass it along. Luke was on Dale Jr's podcast talking about his journey, thought some people here might enjoy it.

I started following football around the time of the Carson Palmer trade to the Cardinals, so not sure how he was prior, but I remember people saying he had a late career resurgence. Was he always pretty good or would he fit the mold?

Just remember Dalton hasn’t had a winning season since 2015. And also Bryce isn’t done yet, he’ll get another shot to show if he can play or not.
QB draft isn’t that great next year, if Bryce is out I could see them keeping Dalton and waiting till 26.
I wouldnt say so matter of factly Bryce gets another shot. I dont expect Dalton to throw for 300 yards and 3 TDs each game, but if hes playing remotely solid, theres no chance you can bring Bryce in at this point.

Canales handing over playcalling duties
in Carolina Panthers

Not a fan of this, whether its the "right" move. The main reason people mention to hire an offensive coach is so you don't have your playcaller under constant turnover like what happens in many cases. If we were going to do this, we should just hire a higher caliber defensive coach, since I feel like you can get a much better defensive coach prospect as the demand is much lower.
