I have no idea how anyone could watch Bryce play and come to an honest conclusion that he would "make more throws than" basically *insert name of another QB on an NFL roster*.

this is a disingenuous take.  Bryce isnt gonna blow yer mind with a 60 yard strike in stride like cam did to Ted Ginn vs the raiders (still one of the most impressive throws I've EVER seen, goes dramatically overlooked).  That said, something like his side arm tight window to legette last game is an impressive throw that I dont think Dalton makes AT THIS point in his career.

Disclaimer: I am not a bryce dick rider.  He absolutely should have improved in SO many areas by now that he hasnt.  However, he is a middle tier QB in the NFL right now, denying that is just not being honest.  I would even agree he hasnt shown to be a franchise QB.  As of right now, his best comparable NFL qb to me is Alex smith.  A qb you'd be  alright having if he wasnt the #1 overall pick.

Bryce has played a big role often in our losses. He can lose a game in the first quarter.

I agree  too, I dont think though its because hes a gunslinger.  Dalton in the late part of his career can do that and it can lead to turnovers which could cost us.  Dalton needs to not try to go out and win the game, just manage the game.

  3. in this game, it doesnt matter really too much.  I think Bryce would make a few more throws, but honestly, just like our recipe the last 3 weeks, its gonna depend on our run game and stopping the opposing run game and hopefully getting a few opportunistic turnovers.  Bryce isnt the reason we're winning, hes not the reason we would lose though either.

  4. I really have no clue what to expect sunday.  To quote one of my favorite bands of all time, Operation Ivy "All I know is that I dont know".  We could win, hell we could win convincingly, we also could lose in blowout fashion.  We could be in a back and forth game with whoever has the ball last winning.  I legit HAVE NO CLUE.  This isnt the dominant bills teams of the past, Allen is still elite and can win any game by himself.  That said, heres my stab at looking at things.

Our defense is made to stop this kind of team.  Strong against the run, a great corner but meh talent around the field.  We've stopped prolific run offenses this season.
Javonte Williams - Season low yards and ypa against us.

De'Von Achane - Season low yards and ypa against us

Breece hall - 3rd worst yards in a game

Fact of the matter is, we arent what we were last year, we are a good run defense and that lines up well against the bills, Stop the run.

For once the lack of moving Jaycee might be a good thing, he will essentially lock down a side and without multiple real weapons thats fine.  Buffalo does not have an elite guy, theyve got a gaggle of average dudes.  Allen will stay away from Jaycee, it will be on Mike Jack and Chau Smith Wade do to their part and they will be matched with guys they can play at the level of.

On offense, we do what the bills are bad at.  We run the ball well, and they suck at stopping the run.  Rico and Chuba will need 30 carries.  Andy Dalton will need to be opportunistic.  My big fear is what we learned last year, Dalton can get overconfident and make bonehead throws.  Its this simple.  Run the ball, stop the run.  Dont turn the ball over.  If we do these 3 things, we will be in a position to win in the 4th quarter.

I really couldn't understand why people were chirping about keeping Corbett benched. He was a very good OG. It's him at center that was never very good.

Also, Cade Mays once again is a replacement level player. As fans, some of ya'll really need to stop overestimating these long term backup players. That's rarely an accident. Doesn't mean they aren't valuable but the idea that these guys are long term starting solutions is ludicrous.

I wouldnt go as far as to say hes replacement level, but hes fine at center.  he's not some godsend, but he isnt absolute dogshit like Corbett was at center. Frankly when you are building a roster you have to have guys who are just aight at certain positions, you cant afford pro bowlers at every position and hes a fine accordable piece that Id love to keep around for average pay. That said, I got some flack earlier in the week saying I was fine with Corbett starting at guard if theres line injuries, and sure enough there was, and sure enough he played fine.  Hes not elite, no where NEAR Lewis or Hunt, but he's alright.  Put it this way, Corbett at guard is not a guy you game plan for, but hes not bad, he'll do the job alright and you need those guys....just keep him away from the center spot...dude is trash at snapping the ball.

Yeah, the more we see of Sanders the more I am convinced that his short good streak from last year was the outlier. Most of his career so far he has been underwhelming.

Oh well, if Evans keeps producing and playing well, no matter.

IMO I think hes just more of a big bodied reciever, the Jimmy Graham type tight end and while it may be something we want to do, it isnt who we are right now with us being a run first offense.  As such, Tremble and Mitchell fit the mold of the necessary personnel.  I think if we ever get to a place of being more a air raid offense he could be vital, even with that, spread offense with him is not bad either since hes such a large target.

  7. High ankle sprain, 2-4 weeks, that said, no one is coming in and getting the playbook down better than what Dalton or Hooker will be able to do over the next 2 weeks.  We are not in buy in win now mode, we are still a developing project that was in a hopeful position at this point.  Use andy, if ineffective, use Hooker.

Ultimately our formula the last 3 weeks winning has been Run. The. Ball.  Whether its Rico or Chuba, we will run the ball atleast 30 times and ask Dalton to be opportunistic and that should be it.

99% of the Chuba commentary was NOT about Chuba personally, it was that Rico was clearly the hotter back today.

I generally agree, but part of the thing is Chuba is not a bad back, he was literally our offense  last year.  He seems to be the emotional leader of this offense as well.  At some point though the goal is hopefully to split rico and chuba carries wise.  An Average starting RB gets 16-18 carries...rico got  17.  we cannot kill the guy and frankly I think Chuba bruises more than rico and as such I think Chuba softens the defense for rico, IE a smash and dash situation.  They do both seem to run better as the game goes on the mystery will be how  to maximize those players.  I personally would love to see the panthers give gaves to one or the other.  This week Rico, next week Chuba, but thats never been done in the NFL and Canales would be crucified if he tried.  I do agree that Rico deserved the start and chuba deserved to spell, but its tomato tomahto.  Rico does us no good if hes dead by week 17 running 30x a game.

  9. thank you.  THANK fuging YOU!  my god, todays game thread was absolutely miserable.  What I learned in the game thread was bryce sucks, chuba sucks, canales sucks, dalton sucks.  Hell I discovered Corbett sucks so bad that he made mays make a bad snap.  Jesus buttfuging christ.  Its a win, not a pretty one, but who cares, NFL still is the NFL, talent everywhere and especially that Jets Defense has some exceptional talent even with the offense being putrid.  First time over 500 in half a decade and its the end of the world.  I remember us being "Insert win total" is the worst undefeated team in NFL history all the way to 15-1.

Like what the hell are you guys talking about

This entire game thread has been aids.  Bryce sucks, Chuba sucks, Corbett sucks, Canales sucks.  Like its just no one gives a poo about the game, they just wanna complain.

  11. My god, some of you people...the hatred for Chuba...you guys really need to take a breath.  I mean, I do know Rico would have had 700 yards on the first carry of the game, he would have straight up pulled a forrest gump ran out the stadium and ran for the next 73 miles while breaking tackles from roving bands of bloodthirsty mauraders, but Chuba is fine, hes a good back in his own.
