Might not be a package deal, though. There are rumors that Giants GM Joe Schoen covers Shedeur in Round 1 (#3 overall)

Wouldn't that be fun to see Deion gameplanning against the Giants and his son. Oooof.

  2. Let's be realistic - the Panthers are not going to sign All Pros to fit all of their needs. There are too many to fill and not enough cap space. No team has All Pros littered throughout the team - cheap role players are a staple of even the most successful franchises.

If they are willing to return on reasonable contracts, I'd bring back:

    Andy Dalton

    Tommy Tremble

    Feleipe Franks

    David Moore

    Mike Jackson

    Caleb Farley

    Xavier Woods

    Jordan Fuller

    Sam Franklin

    Johnny Hekker

    JJ Jansen

I'd offer a team-friendly deal to Shaq Thompson. It's not like the Panthers have a glut of LBers and they are lacking veteran leaders. Say what you will about Shaq (I'm not a big fan), but he does offer solid play and a vet presence.

I'd offer the same to Brady Christensen, but expect he'll go elsewhere. Cade Mays can be the de facto center, but I'd try to find another in the draft. The rest of the draft should be focused on the DLine, Edge and LB. I wouldn't bat an eye if the entire draft was focused on the defense.

Some of the guys I'd try to sign would not be guaranteed starting jobs (looking at you Woods/Fuller). Hopefully the draft can push those positions. The key here is not to go wild with high-priced free agent signings. 2025 will not be the year the Panthers compete for a Superb Owl, but should set the table nicely to be a competitor in 2026.

No words... except to say I think we'll likely stay away from trying to fix guys with "attitude issues" in the future.

It's hard to "fix" guys without a good veteran presence around and the Panthers haven't had that since the old guard left (Keuchly, Olsen, Cam, etc.).

  4. Morale may be a problem, but I think a MUCH larger problem throughout Rhule's and Reich's tenures has been the absolute lack of leadership.

Rhule really screwed up when he let Olsen, Cam and Luke walk out the door, not because their of their skillset, but the leadership they provided. There hasn't been a leader in that locker room since then.

The coach can provide some leadership, but you also need the players to provide their own. Who is going to hold their feet to the fire when the coaches aren't always around?

Until that problem is addressed, I don't think the Panthers move forward.

Now, it's possible Derrick Brown steps up. I could certainly see that happening. And maybe Bryce will, once he establishes himself a bit more, but I don't see any other obvious candidates.

Third fewest yards allowed in the NFL, but 4th most points... that's more about the field position of our opponents than anything else. It's not about good coaching.

    At all.

I don't disagree with this take.

Additionally, Evero needs to discuss Jeremy Chinn and why he isn't playing him more than a handful of snaps per game. That is some seriously wasted talent.

We are going to have a very tough decision with him in the future, I suspect.

It sucks for him and us. Us a lot more, TBH.

It is going to be a tough decision.

Imagine he comes back and balls out the rest of the year. What's the team's best option then? Keep him and sign him to an extension or try to trade him for draft capital?

At this point, if a team comes calling with a high 2nd round pick, how tough would it be to turn that down?
