If we're talking teams on the cusp/playoff ready without a QB, then you look to LAR, Indy & NO.  There's no way in hell they're shipping him to Chicago.

Otherwise, we're in a much better spot than WFT, Philly, NE, HOU, DEN.  Though if I had to guess, think Denver gets him at the end of the day.  He's very much the type they look for.

I think a team like Indy would be in the catbird seat for Stafford’s services. They’re a QB shy of being in the playoffs again and Reich is a QB’s guru and good HC.

If the top 4 QBs are gone, Sewell is a great back up plan. Extend Moton and we should be set at OT for a while...

Agreed. It would be awesome if it fell that way but I can’t see Dolphins or the Bengals passing on Sewell. Same for the Jets if they stick with Darnold.

People have the Saints wrong cap wise. I’ve posted this multiple times but they extend their stars and then fill in with usually lower priced FAs. Look at their top 5 cap hits compared to ours. 4 of their 5 are drafted/developed and 4 of our 5 are guys most likely not on the team after this year or next. We spend large sums on FAs recently and they spend large sums extending their young stars. Extending Moton and probably Samuel wouldn’t have even come up for them. There’d be no discussion on CMC or Moore either. For us, we spend $$$s on injured old LTs, QBs that are just bridges and guys we probably won’t keep.

You make some good points bugs. I hope the days of spending $$$ for players past their prime, injury-prone, etc. are behind us.  And I hope we can replicate last year’s draft success going forward.

  4. A refreshing change for sure.

Don’t get me wrong - I don’t want adapt the Saints’ approach of signing whoever and damn the salary cap but it would be nice to know we’re going to be as proactive and aggressive as we fiscally can be competitive.

I've heard speculation that his interviews have gone poorly but I really don't know how seriously to take that. Could easily be bullsh-t.

What is valid though is that working under a coaching genius has hurt a lot of guys' prospects in the past. Is that fair? Probably not, but it's at least somewhat understandable.

Specific to Reid though, he has a good coaching tree but guys like Matt Nagy and even Doug Pederson probably aren't exactly helping Bieniemy right now.

Heard the same thing on WFNZ this. Kyle Bailey said rumor from Mint Street was Eric Bienemy’s interview with Tepper didn’t go well at all. In fact, it went so poorly, Tepper offerd the opportunity to continue the interview the next day and apparently it didn’t help. If true, it’s a sham but some guys are just not cut out to be the head honcho.

  6. Being reported that the Eagles are expected to interview Josh McDaniels for HC job. He’s already starting to assemble a staff, so this has some traction and will be worth watching.

This means Brady’s options are dwindling and in all likelihood he’ll be retuning as OC.
