I think it will end up being a pretty good qb draft. Don’t see the comparison with the Pickett draft

Decent draft for QBs, but not where you want to be absolutely needing your franchise QB.  I knew the Pickett draft was going to suck, BTW.

goal is always to move you from your cheap drinking tailgate areas....into a "better place".  Where you can pay someone large sums to drink the same beer you were drinking for cheap.

Parking garages SUCK for tailgating.  So if I ever go to another Panthers home game, I'll just wear some good hiking/running shoes because I'll be walking a while from a good ole gravel parking lot...if they still exist within a mile radius of the stadium by then.

  3. Best scenario, 6 wins.   I can see us splitting with the Saints and Bucs.   Commanders is a good possibility for a win. Depending how Murray and Jones are playing and if banged up , we could get wins over the Cards and Giants.  Toss in an unexpected win elsewhere.  I don't foresee many more wins over obviously better teams.  The Raiders may be a win, BUT, we will lose at least one of the games I called a victory.  I'm not going 6-0 on those predictions.

I don't foresee many more wins over obviously better teams.   A pretty tough schedule for a rebound season.

Didn't he already have that last year? The Chicago game was the only one I didn't watch or listen to live. I watched a quick replay of it and don't even remember how dj Moore did.

Wasn't much offense from either team iirc

Part II.  I think he did ok, but the point is we lost.  I don't think the jinx wears off after one contest.

Reich was forced into a situation he didn't originally anticipate. Losing DJ Moore was huge. Couple that with the incredible regression of the offensive line (mostly through injury), and he didn't know how to bring the team back. Bryce wasn't good enough to save his job like Cam did for Ron. Hopefully a little stability, flexibility and luck from the injury bug will be in Canales' favor.

i hope we don't need one.

Needing one and drafting one is two separate things. We might need one, but Bryce will get a 3rd season unless he simply looks atrocious out there.  We could draft a backup as this is Dalton's last season, but a straight up replacement for Bryce I don't see in the cards until the 2026 draft at the earliest.

2025 QB draft is like the Kenny Pickett draft, you might as well hope Bryce wins you 8 games enough to keep him around 1 extra year so we can maybe get a good QB in 2026.

Woof, not THAT bad.   That draft class had ZERO first rounders.  Yeah, I know, Pickett went #19 to the hometown Steelers.  I personally had zero first round grades on QBs in that draft.  If the Steelers didn't catch Pickett, he very well could have made it to the second round.

I'm going to compare it to the QB 2020 draft, although the top guy won't be as good as Burrow, but still should go #1 overall.  You'll probably have a couple more guys go in the top 10 (Tua, Herbert) and there may be a Love or Hurts in the late first/early second.

  8. I kept saying the same thing last year.  I didn't know the name of the concept/play, but I knew we were running it over and over and over and over again.  We weren't attacking the boundaries, that much was crystal clear.  Was it the WRs?  Yes.  Was it Byrce? Yes.  Was it the O-line? Yes. As a function of Bryce having the yips and the WRs inability to win outside did the coaching staff force everything inside? Asbo-freaking-lutely!

It was nice for someone to break down what I was seeing with my own eyes.  It was a snowball rolling downhill effect and it's difficult to pinpoint exactly which of the four (coaching, WRs, OL or Bryce) was the catalyst  for that snowball to get on it's ill-fated trek know as the Panthers 2023 season.  All I know it was on a collision course with disaster.

The brass is going to try to salvage Bryce through a stout run game and play action off of it.  It's completely obvious to me. Will it work?  Who knows?  I do know it can't be any worse than last season.  That much I'm certain of and I can at least tolerate watching games again even if it does only result in a few more wins.

You forgot Blackshear, he was resigned with the new KO rule in mind.

    5 is just too many.

Maybe penny is just injury insurance, still odd signing.

Blackshear is a JAG.  There's a reason he's buried on the depth chart and keeps only getting one-year deals for peanuts.  Depth has been an issue at RB, not so much anymore.

Honestly I dont want to cut him. He has been a good player int he league and when at his best is a CMClite.

I would rather wait and see what he does behind a good oline then straight out cut him.

He's too expensive to cut this year.  In 2025? Expect him to be in an uniform other than a Panthers' one.

Plus we have nearly $50M in dead cap already, no need to add significantly more to that number.

I think we trade chubba while he still has value. hes gonna walk next year.  carolina isnt going to give him big $$

^This.  Chuba is a solid #2, mediocre #1.  We won't--SHOULD NOT--open up the vault for him.  The RB position is low value now.  He's going to go to the highest bidder next free agency and it better not be us.

  12. Pluses: Tall, fast, above average hands.

Minuses: Speed is linear, doesn't play big despite size (jump balls aside), needs to be schemed open/struggles versus press.

I wouldn't have minded him in as our 2nd pick, not with our first though.
