  1. Production is production. That should trump one substandard physical metric. Plenty of players do well with so-called substandard measurements/tests in a certain area. I remember when we passed on Slater because his arms were to short. All he did was dominate future NFL Ends in college, but the staff couldn't overlook those stubs for arms.
  2. Trey Lance back to the Chargers on a 1-year deal. Maybe, just maybe we will take the backup QB position a little more serious next offseason than Kenny Pickett. Goerdert's is also a 1-year deal. Again, maybe we can get this right in 12 months.
  3. Tremble is in the last year of his contract. We can keep, cut or trade him. Time to move on from another Rhule guy. Besides Chuba and BC, that will leave only the first round guys during that era. That I can handle because yo are supposed to hit on first rounders.
  4. He's firmly a second rounder and I don't think we would go that high for a TE this draft. Third? Possibly. I mean Rhule drafted Tremble in the third round who clearly was just a blocking TE.
  5. While we might not like the quality of some of the depth, we can now go into the draft without our hands tied.
  6. I'm liking the guys in our zip code after the All-Star games and Combine. Initially I was in favor of a trade back, but several dudes have climbed the board.
  7. I had a feeling that would end up being the case. Probably a short term deal. Once the next one expires Philly will likely move on. Goedert is still in his prime, productive and on a playoff caliber team. It made sense for both sides. Him coming here was a pipe dream. *sigh* Oh, well...
  8. He made every type of catch you could ask out of a WR, let alone a TE. One-handed, diving, boundary top-tap, high point, extending on inaccurate throws, securing an ant burner, boxing out, back shoulder. Check, check, check, check, check, check and check. Not to mention finishes a TD run on a bum leg after pulling a quad.
  9. Joly has the one thing our current TE groups does not, really, really good hands. Tremble has gotten better at catching, but will never have 'natural' hands. Evans is a blocking TE that has okay hands. A passing game threat is what we thought we were getting when drafting Sanders, but have found out otherwise. With all the TEs we have drafted over the recent years, none of them have been considered a true weapon. That needs to change. Blocking TEs are a dime a dozen and can be had on the cheap. The miscalculation of the front office, folly if you will, is the idea of the Swiss Army knife TE, the guy that can do everything. It takes a real gem to find a TE that does everything and do it well, so our jack of all trades ends up elite at nothing especially the one area where we (the fans) think the weak link is--a receiving threat.
  10. One-year deals for the bulk of these guys means they are purely placeholders. Phillips and Lloyd are the only two the front office wanted here long term, meaning we got a bunch of rentals in FA for next season. It's like shopping at the Good Will store for a Halloween costume only to donate the items on November 1st.
  11. The 3rd through the 5th rounds are where the value is if we are interested. I really don't like the idea of Sadiq. While he's the top of the group, it's a depth year for the position. He would have been TE3, at best, in last year's group.
  12. Yeah, I have been exclusively mocking a LT for well over a month now at #19.
  13. Yup, first it was Bersin, then Ian Thomas and now David Moore. It's easier to shake a bad case of the crotch crickets than these guys.
  14. Ok, now we don't have to double dip in the draft at LB. That's a good thing.
  15. They have a rookie QB on the way. Notice just about all their signings are on the defense. The obvious plan is to keep games low scoring. The last thing you want is a rookie QB having to sling the ball 35+ times due to big deficits all season.
  16. Think about this, even the Raiders didn't want him back even as a backup You know, the worst team in the League? Yeah, those Raiders.
  17. To make matters worse he'll play just good enough to keep us out of the top 15 (for what is shaping up to be a generational QB draft) if we decide to not give him a new deal. We are fugged either way.
  18. Crap, I'll hold a clipboard for $4M with no chance of winning a game if I had to play. What's the difference?
