Only center would make sense now.

How the hell we paying for that?
Maybe we're finally to the point where we feel the cap is just an illusion?
Small first year. We have plenty of cap space after 2024. I would be willing to bet that's why it's a 5-year deal when most others are only 3 and some 4. Had to tack on a year or two to compensate for the peanuts he'll make this season.

I liked Queen coming out of college. I wouldn't mind this move at all.

With the signing of Hunt and the need for a new center, trying to build a good running game obviously.
Hunt is a road grader. Need a stout center to do the job now. Will they be looking to keep Sanders now that they are beefing up the line, or find that power back to compliment Hubbard.
Sanders ran well behind the strong Eagles line. Couldn't do shitt behind the Panthers line. They want to take the load off Young by giving him a consistent running game.
What u got?
Either a guy like in the 4th round or wait until the market cools down and sign a guy for cheap. Of all the holes on the roster, RB is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the list.

Hunt is better than Corbett has ever been in his career, much less the sorry version we seen of him last season.
While all that is true, Corbett has a chunk of money just to be riding the pine. That was my point. Maybe he takes a pay cut to stay?

So is he staying on the right side or moving to the left? What are we doing with Corbett if this dude stays on the right side?

We are making cuts that seem to have nothing to do with the cap. Bozeman, Bell, Hurst....
...for 2024. Morgan is playing the long game. He probably even told Tepper in his interview it would at least take one season of cleaning house to get the roster heading in the right direction.

We can clean the books up nicely if thats the plan and as long as there is not too many extensions given out. I say fug it and front load a deal for brown for 2024
Yup, $19M freed up for 2025 by cutting Bozeman, Bell and Hurst.

Dan Morgan taking the Mr. Not In On Any Deal approach thus far.
Can't afford to without eating significantly into future cap space. I know we must sign some FAs, but we have to be smart and frugal about how we do it.

TEs are going fast. We had better make a move before Wednesday.

They would say this....of course they would love for us to keep bryce the next 10 years. Lol
Exactly, that was the entire joke. Notice no quotes nor source(s). But yeah, it's not uncommon for competitors to talk up an inferior opponent to their advantage in sports or other endeavors.

Hey, we re-signed JJ. Long snappers are the secret weapon on every team.
Also retained Hill.
Slow and steady gents, sloooow and steady.

$27m per for Wilkins, that Brown contract is going to be eye opening
edit: I don't think the Panthers are going to be able to afford both Brown and Burns. Think one is gone.
I think most of us prefer Burns to hit the road. Your correct though, retaining both is really not an option.

We need to move Burns for picks. I could see us double dipping but we need to find a future starting C in this draft, as well.
The FA market for center is actually fairly deep. It's a matter if we can afford any of them. You typically don't get starting rookie centers unless they are day 1 or day 2 picks. I wouldn't mind drafting one on day 3 and developing him.

Poor guy has made tens of millions of dollars to be terrible. We should all be so fortunate.
I'm sure he would have rather made millions of dollars and actually have been successful too. Nobody likes being a failure, no matter your status in life.

I'm just trying to follow along and I will admit that it's hard to follow some of the logic in here. Just wanted to clarify the rules in the game of cat and mouse.
Nah, I get it. I've been duped by sarcasm a time or two myself. I'm fluent in it though, so it hurts my pride a little when I do fall for it.

Not to take a side in this but you are aware that teams cannot comment on any trade or signing of any player currently under contract with another team, right? Unless said player is a FA the league specifically forbids that. Just saying.
*Woooosh* Come on Jon Snow--do better.

Tony Pollard to the Titans, per Rappaport. Three years at $24M.

Darnold performed well in 2022 when he was supported by a run-first offense and wasn't asked to win games by himself. He could be a very good QB on a team like Minnesota that will put a lot of talent around him. But if Kevin O'Connell is going to try to throw the ball 70% of the game, Darnold is going to look like he always has.
Purely a stop-gap. You will know by the contract when (if) this gets done.

In hindsight, these highlights are not good. No pressure, a bunch of pass rushers that aren't NFL level, easy throws to open dudes, etc..
Anonymous brass within the Tampa Bay, Atlanta and New Orleans front offices are saying they think Bryce will be a top 3 QB in about 4 years. The Panthers would have to pick up the 5th year option in that case.
When asked if they would trade for Young in a hypothetical scenario, all three of these personnel declined to answer the question.

I saw where the 49ers chose to re-sign Brandon Allen to be Brock Purdy's backup. Darnold is likely hitting the road again. Poor guy.

I'm hoping either Allen or Estime will still be there at the top of the 4th. I'd snag one of those two in a heartbeat.
