Carr doesn’t hold a candle to Cousins
They are basically the same QB imo.

They said he is due a $3M roster bonus on Friday, so maybe the dead money is rough but we save overall? I am struggling to see this too - thought I was understanding how this stuff works but am a little confused now.
Dead cap is 10m, we would have paid him 13m if he stayed on the roster, so we save 3mil.

We heard the same thing about the Saints last season, we see how that turned out.

We can clean the books up nicely if thats the plan and as long as there is not too many extensions given out. I say fug it and front load a deal for brown for 2024
Brown definitely needs to be extended before his price goes up further.

WOW!!! ..... Justin Simmonds incoming?
This is a rebuild year and they are treating it as such.
The moves that have been made clear cap for the 2025 season, not 2024.
I dont see us entertaining any FA's other than the cheap ones.

I like Hill, dude gives his all on the field.

Nobody has ever said signing a elite player makes us a contender. Like you need to get that out your head. It's common sense this team is not a contender.
That doesn't mean we should pass on every big name FA. Some fans just want a few elite players on the roster. There is nothing wrong with that.
Again what is your plan just get guys in the draft and hope they develop?
So what happens when we actually have money to spend do we pass on FA's again because we aren't contenders?
Like cmon man it goes both ways.
It doesn't and its stupid.
If you want to root for names go play fantasy football or something.
Signing high priced FAs makes no sense at all in our timeline, trading anything outside of players also makes no sense.
Yes the plan is to draft and develop that is how the best teams do it, not by signing a bunch of guys with well known names to stupid contracts.

lol the Browns traded a 5th & 6th for a JAG...just saying
We traded Moore a 1st and a 2nd for Bryce Young.
Lets dial back laughing at other teams trades.

Yeah who needs FA's. We saving money that's all that matters right?
We dont even have money to spend and you talking about saving money.
Go review our situation before spouting off at the mouth.
We are not in a position to play kick the can and sign FAs to hefty contracts, stop being dumb.
If we ever hope to be competitive these dumb ass knee jerk reactions need to stop, we are not one or even 5 players away.

Well, you see his overall rank regarding win rate in 2023 . His overall PFF grade last season wasn't bad either. This, all basically playing essentially as a solo pass rusher on the worst team in the NFL. Sure, you can spin it negatively, but there's still unlocked potential in an already productive young EDGE. We'll see where it goes.
There is also that in Josh Sweat, Who only has 11 less sacks than Burns and is only a year older.
The big thing is Josh sweat isnt looking for 30m+ a season.
We are not getting what you guys are thinking for Burns unless we sing him to a contract and pay a good portion of his salary before trading him .
No one is giving up a 1st+ for the right to pay him 30m+ a season.
-
Barkley is over rated and has been since he was drafted.
I want no parts of paying a RB. Chuba had just a good a year last season as Barkley did at a fraction of the cost. '
You guys seriously need to lay off of FA and names. We dont have cap to sign anyone and we dont have assets to trade for anyone.

Good
Its good that one of the only players we have drafted under Tepper that had any kind of talent was lost on our roster because we didnt know how to use him and he walked for nothing. Im failing to see how this is good.

I feel encouraged for 2024, knowing we now have someone in management who has personal knowledge of what is needed for a successful franchise.
It's time to get rid of the "dead weight", Buts have warmed the bench too long!!!
"KEEP POUNDING"
We are going to suck this season there is no way around it.
I have hope they could be the right guys, but we are still going to suck the upcoming season.

I don't think they have much to risk in that regard. Fields seems so overwhelmingly like a bust. I honestly have no idea why they would even pretend to claim he might be the guy they stick with.
It is all a charade to amplify his trade value.

Young's average time before a pass is 2.89 seconds, 10th-longest. He has held onto the ball an average of 2.84 seconds when blitzed, sixth-longest.
This dosent fit their narrative that Young wasnt given a chance.
He is supposed to have 5 seconds of pocket time and WRs with 5 yards of separation.

No thanks, too expensive.
I know you would be more than happy to sign Purdy to the Panthers and make him the highest paid QB in NFL history.
You would also be dumbfounded when we struggled to win 5 games again.

Dude get a life, none of the damn FA's you have brought up are even remotely realistic for our team.
Dont get mad with me because the team has wasted years of resources to field constant 5 win or worse teams.
We will have enough trouble even building out our roster and you want to entertain high priced FA's.

49ers found their new QB after an injury,it did not need anyone's admission.
The 49ers found a QB and should be looking to upgrade from him before they are forced to pay him top end QB money.
He is fine while on his rookie deal, but wouldn't want any part of him at 50m+ a season.

The dude played 4 games last season and 6 the season before.
We already have a younger version of him.

New QB unless Bryce shows drastic improvements, but he wont.

Do you know how many teams can realistically win a SB?
Once again you need elite players to win in this league. What good is owning a team if you're not willing to pay. What good is rooting for a team if they aren't willing to pay.
Like cmon bro you are obsessed with saving money and I'm honestly confused with that mindset. What are we saving money for?
What are we signing big names for? Adding Chris Jones or any other FA is not going to shift our win total dramatically it's just a waste of cap that we may need to sign someone with down the road when we actually have a good team.
We are going to suck this season, just accept it.
Falcons now winning the division
in Carolina Panthers
