  1. I haven't paid a ton of attention to sports this year, as much as I have in the past, but I want Wilson.  And that's coming from a UNC alum.  I know he's had injuries, but he's a playmaker if healthy.  He's got that IT factor.

Wouldn't be upset with an edge either, just don't know much about them this year. (I like the older guy from FSU, can't remember his name now though, but I watched him in some of their games and I was impressed).

  2. I agree it needs to be addressed, but ngl, I really like Tremble.  He's just been underutilized and stuck in dysfunctional offenses his entire career.  When he gets the ball in his hands, he makes plays, period.  Even with him more featured, we still need help there though.

Update: Young’s visit has been rescheduled, Underhill reports. Fans shouldn’t read into this one way or another until we have more information. It could be as simple as Young’s flight getting canceled. Either way, this story isn’t going to wrap up quickly.

Maybe we made "you're not leaving town" pitch on the tarmac?

  4. I can't get excited because they've really tapped all my resources there since that SB50 loss.

But as I said in another thread, it finally is looking like a plan is in place and the FO/staff/administration are cohesive and have an actual defined sense of direction for the first time...  maybe EVER.  I do love everything they've done outside of the Burns debacle and Luvu leaving, but in hindsight, Morgan couldn't really do anything about withe of those.  Fitt fuged up the Burns situation and Luvu ideally should've been extended last offseason, but even then, it seems like he was looking for a better situation regardless of money so we couldn't make him stay if he didn't want to.  So yeah, Morgan is really hitting some massive Homer's right now.

Turning DJax into Deionte Johnson may be the best move of the entire offseason in all of the NFL, and that is no overstatement.  Huge steal.

  5. I think it's also important to consider the monetary investment in the OL is less consequential when your QB is still on a rookie deal.  We can afford the investment in the OL.  We just need Bryce to be the QB they drafted him to be.  I don't feel he is, buy this is the first step in finding out.  If he isn't, cool...  the next QB brought in will likely be on another rookie deal or a cheap stopgap contract snd the OL will still be in place.  So, we're good.

  6. Yeah, the Burns deal was a sunk cost bc he inherited a completely fuged situation.  I still was upset about what we netted from it, but he wasn't left with many options or choices at the point he stepped in.  So, I stepped back off the ledge with that one.

I'm still kind of sore about letting Luvu go, but it sounds like the offer was there, he just chose to go with Quinn for philosophy/scheme...  so again, nothing much Morgan could've done about it other than locked Luvu up way earlier before FA hit, but unless the offer was crazy, he was probably was going to test the waters regardless.

Everything aside from those moves so far?  NGL, I give it a solid A on the grading scale.  You can see some sort of direction finally.

  7. I find this interesting bc I was certain if we were going to sign him, it would've been last year with Fitt being the GM and having already been familiar with him from Seattle and Clowney being a FA still as the season approached...  but, IIRC, Morgan was also there when they brought Clowney in.  So interesting one apparently wants him while the other didn't from the same FO.

Morgan said we needed dawgs, called Luvu a dawg and then let’s him walk. Not a serious team

Already setting the tone for another limpdick front office tenure.  We just can't ever get this poo right.

Honestly, Luvu and Brown should have been the absolute highest priorities in securing.  I like Burns, but after all this posturing and poo, he made it easier to see all of the holes in his game that make him expendable...  Luvu didn't have ANY of those, and we still let him walk so we can keep pussyfooting around with Burns and his bullshit.

This is garbage.  And when you make a statement like Morgan did about needing dogs, and that Luvu is all of that, and then let him walk without a fight, you're a fuging joke.

  9. Motherfuger.

Great job, Dan.  Out of our two most pressing issues in FA, you have successfully strung one out to the point of being forced into a trade that likely won't net a justifiable value in return and then you let the other guy, who is an actual beast on the field in every way, walk for absolutely nothing.  What a fuging blowhard.  Already fuging poo up in the deep-steeped Panther tradition.  This is a fuging joke.

  10. I like Hunt, but not understanding the point of it.  I'm sure they want a big, road grader guard to better fit the scheme we're implementing, but BC was pretty good and so is Corbett.  Wonder if this means Corbett is toast?

  11. Every year we see teams that mad minimal, budget-style rebuilds that everyone assumes will have a horrible year end up being competitive and vie for playoff contention.  Usually it's due to the right combo of personnel evaluation, resource allocation, and an infusion of great coaching.  The team could look extremely modest in paper.  If we hit those 3 things, we could be that team next year, but it's clear we are going to rebuild this roster from the ground up and a lot of turnover should be anticipated...  that doesn't mean a rebuild or tank.  But again, the hope is that we see success/improvement in the areas I mentioned because that's what we have been missing since Tepper got here.

If we lose again next year, it's not going to be on purpose.  It will be because Tepper fuged up with hires again snd is likely meddling still.

    Now get rid of Clifford

This is really the bigger issue.

With the pieces we started the year with, there was absolutely no reason for this to be a 10-win team.  Clifford has been and will continue to be the biggest problem in Charlotte.  The players dont care bc there is no accountability or winning culture in place.  I still will never understand why they brought him back instead of D'Antoni or one of the other options that was out there.  I fuging hate Clifford.  He's a prime example of being handed poo you don't deserve because of who you know.  He's a fuging bum.

No head coaching experience on any level.  If this doesn’t at least give you pause it definitely should

Rhule had head coaching experience coming in and was still horrible.  I've come to understand all the qualifiers we typically look for are ultimately meaningless.  It's about making the right hires and building a culture that staff and players can thrive under.  If Canales can do that, I don't give a fug about his experience.  It really determines nothing.

That's all I want these days. The last "fun" thing that happened to this franchise since Tepper took over was, unironically, Cam coming back for those few weeks. This franchise has been a depressing sh*t show for damn near a decade now. If we're going to watch a noddle arm QB next season anyway, I'd rather watch the GOAT Panther do it. At least you'll know that sh*t would be entertaining!

Cam is still the greatest short yardage and goalline threat in the history of the nfl, and still would be.
