Drury looked great for Chicago last season and in limited action with the Canes, he damn sure looked the part. I hope this does the trick. We are spoiled as hell with great play and coaches the last several years. 8-3-1 feels like a let down to me. Can’t put my finger on it, but something feels a bit off, not sure if we need a mixup in the lines, defensive pairings or what….. maybe just some time for the team to gel. Sorry to hijack…. Maybe should have started a separate thread.

I am worried about our goalies. Defense needs to be better in spots, Chatfield especially. Vas has faced nearly 2x the shots.

Going on the OT pp. we need to close the deal here.

I thought 5-3 looked good, did it all but score. I feel like we aren’t playing super well defensively. Chatfield and Burns with a couple mistakes that cost us. it’s early in the season so hopefully we can tighten up defensively.

Don’t like this. Draft picks in the NHL are for the future more so than any other sport. We are good now, losing a blue liner of Tony’s caliber for a bag of lower picks is a toughy. We may strike gold with the picks but we had a really good d-man at a time when our cup window is open.
