  1. sauna suits are out, altitude masks are in. (sorta, I haven't seen one in a few weeks now) surprised i haven't seen anyone drop dead with a heart attack yet.
  2. I've always considered squats to be more of a total body lift, or even a core exercise, than a leg lift. When I think "leg day," squats usually aren't on my agenda. With squats, yes you're mostly using quads, hamstrings, hip flexors, but you're working a whole lot of other muscles as well. If you do low squats, you work a whole lot of your trunk. The leg press is better for isolating your quads and is typically seen as superior than squats for quad development. Just depends on your personal goals. For whatever reason, I started doing leg press/curls/extensions and toe raises on the days I do incline and dumbbell flies. Not gonna lie...did 6 reps at 1108 and had to push my legs with my hands on the last two.
  3. If I tried to bounce that particular sled, my femur would be in my throat. I take it down as far as I can (my knees are maybe a few inches from my chest... well past my hips). I do more than a 3" range of motion with a toe raise. I agree leg press isn't really an important exercise. I hate lunges with a passion. I do them, but without any sort of enjoyment.
  4. Sled has a sticker saying it weighs 118 lbs. Eleven 45 lb plates on each side
  5. Did 1,108 lbs on leg press today. I don't think I've been that heavy since I was like 20-22.
  6. starting a collection to get one of these for CRA
  7. I think MTS Whey gets a lot of good press mostly because it tastes great. If you're watching your cholesterol level, you may want to look elsewhere but otherwise it is fairly good quality.
  8. About 8 or 9 years ago I had a really bad case of tendonitis that happened to coincide with loading creatine. I don't know if it was because of creatine or just a coincidence, but I started looking into it and saw that it is pretty common.
  9. Never been to Whistler but BC as a whole is freaking beautiful.
  10. creatine definitely increases performance in high intensity anaerobic exercise. that big of a jump is rare, but it does happen. i actually encourage people to skip the loading phase. your muscles tend to grow pretty fast during loading and your tendons don't always keep up. you can develop chronic tendonitis that way.
  11. I've run on ice in complete darkness (yay early morning PT in Germany). After the first 3 miles or so, you forget the weather.
