You guys whom are so desperate for another offensive player will make any argument to justify your stance.
On offensive players whose value equals 10 too is QBs and elite left tackles.
Otherwise, it's defense.
I'm not mad either way they go honestly bc we not a complete team. We could easily draft Vernon ghoslton all over and that value wouldn't mean a thing. We aren't in the position of wasting picks. Our pick needs to be a starter and with limited guess work of how he'd fit in. Evero, doesn't deserve the choice of wasting another player career. Chinn and Luvu could've did more damage. Hopefully we hit the pick if it's Walker or Williams but we need production for our team... offense or defense.

How? If you had a crystal ball and knew you would get Bowers production his rookie year he would have gone after Nabers
I feel you! Value is only determined by certain measures and for our team, a tight end holds value. Now if they really feel one of the other tight ends can do something, ok but 6 of the last remaining teams in the playoffs, would've struggled heavily without solid tight end play. I'd rather have Jeremy Shockey then Brian burns... in perspective. I'd be happy with Warren bc you know you getting a starter. His game translates with minimal flaws. Remove Kelce from Kc and you probably don't have a few of those rings either.

I really like Warren but saying he’s a WR is quite a stretch. He’s a really good blocking TE and is willing to do literally everything on the field. Finds soft spots in the zone very well but isn’t the receiving threat Bowers or Pitts was coming out. I’d be happy with him at 8 but don’t think we should be under any impression he solves our lack of talent at the WR position.
100 receptions is nothing to sneeze at but I think the biggest thing is he makes the offense more unpredictable. He is a mismatch going out and you can't tip your hat on run or pass plays in 2 tight end or 1 tight end sets. That being said, I don't think they will draft him unless the board shakes a certain way. It does really feel they are locked in on the Georgia boys.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they run it with Rattler. They committed to Carr, so we know they were already willing to tank for Manning. Could they go up for Sanders, of course. I still think they ride it out this year bc they are trying to get out if contracts and dead cap.

As to Warren, don't know but I wouldn't rule anyone out based on visits. Plenty of teams (us included) draft players they might not have hosted.
Beyond that though, again it was just because you mentioned TEs. Wasn't making an argument on any particular point.
Yeah we have invested a bunch ot time with tight ends and it's clearly obvious they like Warren. I think they really wanted to dive into the others to see the gap personally and make a decision off that. If they feel Taylor or 1 of the other tight ends have good upside as a 2 way tight end, they may go that route. Warren is the only 1 right now that shows he could be a starter bc he isn't a liability in run or pass. They have options. The same goes for edge. They are trying to see the gap between Walker etc and the next wave of rushers. The value may be too good to not go offense early and then go edge later if the drop aint bad. This is a true battle amongst defense n offense in the draft room and they are doing a mini process of elimination.

Draft gab from a couple local sources ponders whether the Steelers might try to trade up for Sheduer Sanders, and more specifically that they may try to trade with the Panthers.
Not sure where this idea sprouted from or whether there's anything to it (minus corroborating discussion from Insiders, seems unlikely) but for the sake of discussion, here's what they're talking about...
I said this a week ago and someone said it's idiotic basically bc they want Rodgers. Newsflash, Rodgers is a 1 year bandaid at most and if he gets hurt, Pittsburgh has nothing else but just traded for Metcalf. I still think Shedaur may go to the Giants tho. Feels its a battle in the front office on him. We will see but I'd gladly take that trade package lol

I think this is correct. I see Ward (Tenn), Carter/Hunter (Cleve), Carter/Hunter (Giants), Membou or Campbell (Pats), Graham or McMillan (Jax), Jeanty (Raiders), Jets (Membou/Campbell)
Of course, there will be a trade or two, but that is where i see it. two.five weeks out.
I see Indy or Pittsburgh moving up for Sanders if he drops to 7.
Honestly, I couod see Pittsburgh moving all the way to 3 to get Sanders. Their window is now and Tomlin clock is ticking. Their roster doesn't have many holes, so picks shouldn't worry them. Depends on the Giants mindset but they could bend them over and get future 1st since they don't have any 2nds.

If bringing him in for a in house thirty visit must be significant interest. Not saying they take him at 8 but they must like him.
His tape is as good as Grahams and he damn near unblockable. He hasn't been an issue on the field much but did have something goin on with Kiffin, so vetting what's going on off the field is going on hard. I could see him as a trade back pick if they feel he checks out. I know with Derrick brown in place, he wouldn't be in line to cut up. We will see.

We met with him at the senior bowl too... there is interest but no telling the severity. I'd assume if he slid to rd 3 or maybe round 2 if they feel the defensive guys could guide him like the Boys on the eagles defense did with Carter etc.

Jax is going Tet or oline... they have invested a ton of time on Tet and want to pair him with Thomas Jr. Somebody is gonna drop and I'm thinking it's Carter more n more. 3 is going to be Sanders... rather it's the giants or somebody going up to 3 or 4 to get him. Jeanty is a raider.

1 - Tennessee: Ward
2 - Cleveland: Travis Hunter with the intent of selecting their WR1 of the future
3 - NYG: Shedeur staring them in the face, as is Carter. But NYG already paying Burns a boatload of cash, have Thibodeaux, and another stud on the defensive line in Dexter Lawrence. Schoen feels #3 is too rich for Shedeur.
Joe Schoen and Dan Morgan are close. Schoen was on staff in Carolina when Morgan was drafted in Carolina. They worked together under Beane in Buffalo. They remain good friends to this day and still vacation together if I am not mistaken.
You alright with Morgan calling up his buddy to inquire on the price tag to move from 8 to 3 to select the best defensive player in the draft at a position we desperately need? What would you give up?
Seeing rumblings that CLE could love Hunter. The Giants have signed Russ and Jameis so are no longer desperate at QB, but moving to 8 gives them more options to navigate the draft.
I have a hard time seeing Cleveland not go qb but if the giants wouldn't rip the Panthers, I'm sure it'd be talked about but I think they'd at least want our 2nd and that's too rich for us rn. I wouldn't mind Carter but I think the possibility is easier if he drops to 5.
-
Yeah Williams isn't horrible but I feel if you replaced him with some of the other 2nd round prospects at Georgia, the production would've been the same. I dont see much a difference in getting him at 8 vs the other prospects later.

Yeah, Warren "does more than Pitts," which is important, but the most profound difference--that should be at least stated---is that Warren is a dawg and Pitts is not. That's super important when making that comparison.
Demeanor and lauded as a leader too!! Pitts was a 1 trick pony coming out with upside. Watching Warren launch himself over piles to score a td run, is the grit we need. Reminded me of Tolbert , Stew or Cam fighting for 1 yard often. I get the not wanting a tight end early bc of others but he just plays angry and with passion.

That's sound logic! I think we could make a case for a few players. I know its not popular with a few but Warren gives to the identity we want. Tremble is mostly a blocker. Sanders flashed late but mostly a receiving threat at the moment. Warren is an automatic 1st down, run blocks, runs the ball and can even line up and throw it. To me he is if you took the Taysom Hill and actually could play tight end too. I just think looking at Goedert, Kelce, Laporta, Hoeckenson, Baltimore Tight ends, Knox and Kindcaid and etc... all the last few teams had stellar Tight end play. Warren allows you to be unpredictable on offense bc he is equally good at being a target, as he is a blocker. Don't want to run Bryce on a qb sneak, plug Warren in with the threat to pass. I would be happy with him, Walker or a few others. As long as the player isn't riding the bench year 1.

on another thread in the draft section, I mentioned (today) that FanDuel had the over/under on Sanders between 7.5 and 8.5--they think he is going at #8---I hope so--a trade back would be ideal. I say watch the Colts--they guessed the Giants.
Very much possible! Just that Qbs always get hyped up the closer to the draft. Somebody definitely would go get him if he starts sliding and I'd assume 7 and 8 are definitely trade up spots if he gets past 3. Pats probably don't want to get out of the top oline in a trade back, So I'd count them out. Jags seem bent on Tet and Graham, so don't see them moving too far back. Oakland will most likely take Jeanty. Jets... definitely a wildcard with so many holes...

Ward
Sanders
Hunter
Carter
Graham
Jeanty
As definitely going before our pick. Then you add in teams with young qbs that need protection... So add in at least 1 Oline(maybe 2)... I think it will come down to Walker n Warren or trade back and Nick or Golden. Funny he has Warren top 10 but he gets so much hate. Dude is athletic and has the dawg mindset Dan looking for.

Did Antonio Brown look like Antonio Brown in college? He had to have been a 6th Rounder for a reason
Idk.. I heard Antonio character was always something but Golden looks like the good version of Antonio in Pittsburgh.

I'll admit, I'm late to 1 prospect that's got my attention. Matthew Golden looks like a young Antonio Brown to me. If we trade back a few, I wouldn't mind him at all.

As a die hard Gamecock - drafting Emmanwori at 8 is a reach.
I understand being convicted in a decision and getting your guy, but still.
I feel you... our scheme is safety specific but I only hate that Evero is involved. I don't mind the talent but Evero shouldn't have much say in the decision.

Joe Person: Georgia LB Jalon Walker and South Carolina S Nick Emmanwori both were in the Panthers’ building in recent weeks on local visits, per league source.
I got the feeling Nick may be the guy unless we sign Blackmon of course. We've spent the most time with him, just like Xavier last year. Hell, they probably was on Nick last year as well as much as we spent time at USC

He was but that work ethic ran him right out the league fast!

God forbid this is the way the Draft shakes out
