I'm biased obviously but I think I would take our roster over the Commanders and Giants.
We still suck though. -
I can't tell if I under-appreciated Greg Olsen while he was here or just this team has been so garbage in the years since it makes me reminsence about every past Panthers great. But yeah, definitely a reminder to really appreciate what you have when you have it.

What's wrong with having that mentality? He's just expressing how he wants to be known as a great Panthers tight end.

That tweet is hella misleading. He literally says like 20 seconds later, "obviously, I think moving forward, you want Bryce Young."

Notice those WRs you mention had quality QBs throwing them the ball.
Okay and? Legette's career likely won't be with just one QB if Bryce doesn't improve.

Legette is a nice prospect, with lots of upside. But this guy saying he is better than Harrison, Odunze, and Nabors, sorry but he's out of his ever loving mind.
That's unfair. It might be a different take, but it isn't like he's doing it with zero research. He gives his reasons. It would be different if he was saying something so boldly without backing up why he felt that way.
And you just never really know. Great WRs come from every round nowadays. Is it really that outrageous to think Legette could be the best one? Just last year arguably the 2 best rookie WRs were Nacua (5th round) and pre-injury Dell (3rd round). Amon-Ra went 4th and he'd be the best WR in his class if not for Chase.

ACL isn't a big deal anymore, especially for a 20 year old.
Yep. Gurley tore his ACL around the same time in college and was playing by Week 3 and looked dominant the rest of the season.
Not that I expect Brooks to come close to that kind of impact as a rookie. But just giving an example that proves your point. Unless there were any complications with the surgery or recovery process, we should expect him to be at around at least 70-80% by the first week. It should help that he won't be expected to carry the full-load. I see Hubbard/Sanders splitting the majority of the 1st, 2nd, and short-yardage touches for the first half of the season, but Brooks should be the best pass-catcher out of the backfield on day one.
-
He reminds me of a poor mans Todd Gurley, which is still pretty darn good. He doesn't have Gurley's top-end track speed and Gurley had more of a stronger build to him, but their playstyles and strengths as RBs are about the same.

I haven't heard someone talk like Xavier since I was a kid.
His accent is too good to be a bust.
This is what I'm thinking. Some guys just have IT. I'm starting to get a real good feeling about him.

This dude sounds like he belongs here. Please work out and be a stud for us!

Damn near player that falls to the 4th round and beyond is a project. That or they either have concerns about their character or medical.

I'm not the biggest fan of Legette, but I disagree with the Mingo comparisons. On the field Legette looks like a much better athlete. Don't care about testing results.
With that said I hate that he's already 23 with only one year of big time production. But I get it at the same time. The upside is there and Canales is an experienced WR coach. If Legette is good, Canales should be the one to help show it.

This would be the worst time to change uniforms because demand for Panthers gear is low because we suck. Business wise, it would be smarter to wait until after we have at least one good season that makes fans happy and excited for the future. That is when they will be more likely to buy the new jerseys you are selling.

You remember the coaching search? The Jet Set. Dave and the missus, huge entourage. Heavy on the analytics and test scores, the idea that the brain could bridge the gap created by physical shortcomings. That approach fits Tepper to a T. I don’t believe that impression was entirely fan created.
That has nothing to do with his willingness to move on. It is possible (although not proven) for him to have wanted Bryce while also being willing to move on from him if it doesn’t work out. You know who he also liked at one point? Frank Reich
There is 0 reason to think that Tepper wouldn’t support a change in QB if it came down to it

I would bet money that only 2 of the Panthers draft picks this year work out for them, if they're lucky.
Hopefully the Panthers don't just draft good players - they keep them, which is one of the biggest problems with this team. We only have 8 players (out of 29 picks) drafted between 2018-22 still on the team.
Think about how many guys had long careers with us back in the day. Peppers, Gamble, Davis, Gross, Kasay, Hoover, DeAngelo, Stewart, Kalil, Wharton... I could go on and on. Now we're lucky if we get 5 years out of a player.
I get some of that was due to Hurney being insanely loyal to home talent, which comes with its own issues. But it felt good to root for a team with players you have been supporting for years.

Tepper isn't that stubborn. He has shown that he'll stick with something, but only for so long. He's 110% committed to something until he isn't, and its like a light switch. If Bryce doesn't play any better this year, I bet Tepper will be ready to move on.
Yeah, I don't get this fan-created narrative that Tepper has or will have some super-attachment to Bryce and won't let the coaches move on.
Say what you want about Tepper but all this team has done since he's become owner is move on. If Bryce shows no improvement, then I'm sure the first thing the team will do is explore options to move on.

That seems like a light punishment to prevent tampering in the future, no? Like, if you really wanted a QB and the tampering was the difference between getting him vs not getting him, then would it really hurt to lose a few spots in the first round?

Why would a team trade for #33 without knowing who's available?
What? The first and second round are on different days. We have the first pick of the 2nd round. Panthers can trade the pick the day of the 2nd round before it officially starts. Teams will know who is available at #33 once Night One is over.
If the Panthers plan on trading #33, then I think they will (and would be wise) to do it before night two of the draft starts. That way they can strategize with their new draft position or negotiate with more teams.

We're gonna be on the clock for a looooooong time at #33. We'd be crazy not to listen to the offers coming in.
If the Panthers have any intentions of trading #33, I think it will happen before they get on the clock, not after. Same reason any deal for the #1 pick is usually before the draft. No reason to wait and it would be to the Panthers advantage to trade the pick ASAP, if that is their intention, so they can start building a strategy for whatever pick(s) they end up with.
If the Panthers are on the clock at #33, then I think that means they will stick with it

2017 had some fun moments. That was our last really solid team.
The numbers won't reflect it, but Cam Newton was so damn good that year. We surrounded him with nothing but trash on offense, especially with Olsen hurt and Shula having no clue how to use McCaffrey. He led the team in rushing to boot.
