Nedeljkovic in net. He beat us last time.
-
nope, scratched. hasn’t been doing so well the few games I checked.
-
Prolly since as soon as you do that the opposing team will do a line change for their top line as soon as they can.
-
Seems to me Pool Party is starting to play better, some good hits and hustle around the net gave him some good scoring chances. Not a great pickup but I bet he scores soon.

Drury is fast and skilled but not close to Svech in size and experience. On the canes roster Drury listed as 5-11 174lb, Svech 6-2 195 lb. Svech is a heavy hitter, he and Drury have different roles.

Canes have had a drought as far as lucky goals and rebound shots, time for the statistics to start even out and Canes to score 4+ goals.
-
The post game clip posted online Rod was not happy and obviously frustrated with Canes play other than the penalty kill which was excellent against a team with a strong PP. Totally agree with Rod needs to look in the mirror. Strategy and lineups should be adjusted based on the team you play, not just “play our game”.

He’s listed in the lineup on the NHL ap Canes starting lineup posted by Walt Ruff this morning, so likely. Sometimes the listed lineups change nearer the start time so can’t say for sure.
-
I had hoped for more goals from Ghost, but he has played some good defense at least at times.

Bingo. Some teams have figured out our offense and have the talent to stop our scoring and we don’t change tactics to overcome that. Look at how the teams that have beaten us have kept 2-3 guys relatively close to the front of the net to block shots and prevent us from getting rebound shots. Because we stick to “our game” of “just grind” and we like “our team”. Still hoping for a win.

And to add insult to injury I had to put up with seeing that stupid Amazon dancing mustache girl commercial multiple times. Total suck.
-
Blame anyone you want, but Canes can’t win jack squat scoring only 2 goals a game, and struggling to score even 2.
-
Freddie fail. That penalty on Canes was BS.
-
Don’t leave your TV! lol
-
Deju Vu. 1st period just like last game against the Sens. Hopefully we pull this one out for a win as well.
-
Well that ones on Freddie it was right in front of him.
-
Leaving Numchuk alone to get that pass wasn’t on Freddie
-
I just want home advantage for what it’s worth, ignoring past history. I don’t care who we play 1sr round.
-
I like your optimism. Let’s fug’n go!
-
Teams been motivated. Need strategy on offense now. Hoping for a win tonight.

Dear Rod, Please inform the team that it could be helpful to actually look right in front of them before shooting the puck to make sure there isn’t a blocker standing directly in front of them a mere 6 foot away. That should significantly decrease the chances of the Canes having forty blocked shots against them. Thanks, A fan

All bets are off. Canes make their bad decisions during the trade deadline.

I look at SV% more than GAA as far as comparing other goalies against the canes goalies. Canes limit teams SOG and grade As more than most teams, so any goalie who plays for us looks pretty good stat wise. Case in point Anderson and Raanta won the William Jennings trophy for goals against, best in nhl in 2022. Are they the best really? Nope. An even better case in point is look at the excellent stats of Nedejkovic and Mrazek when they played for the Canes vs the poor play they’ve done lately on other teams. So I look at SV% for the season and also for career, in addition I look at GAA just for this season as a secondary consideration. Based on that criteria I would take a hard look at Hill and Korpisalo in your list of UFA’s, and keep Raanta. But really we would have been fine with our current goalies if we had scorers and that is just not going to change until we get one or two more. Do we really want to count on goalies to save each game with us struggling to get more than 2-3 goals for most games?

We just lost 2 of the last 3 games. Somethings got to change to win 2 of the next 3 games. Pick the best lineups and stick with it. And scratch Puljujarvi, nows not the time for a work in progress. He’s fought hard but no results to speak of.
