Just gonna throw this on out there- the announcers & PK Subban for the NJ- Carolina series. I only highlighted Subban because I don't know who the other 2 guys in the studio were. But the guy behind the glass (Ferraro), the lady doing the bench stuff (Kaplan) and McDonough (play-by-play) are all on the NJ badwagon. So, if you thought the announcers were horrible before knowing this....

Ray Ferraro was a Whaler - ungrateful turncoat

I'm gonna say it. Freddie these two playoff games has been the dude we brought here to be.  And if he can continue that with help/spells from Raanta continuing to play how he has---this team even through the injuries has an entirely different outlook.

Right, Freddie is playing his best for a big free agent contract next season. whatever the motivation we ride him, and the Canes style is perfectly suited to playoff hockey where most all these teams rely on a few big studs to score and the Canes have a unique way to shut them down and frustrate them - we could make a decent run

There were a couple lapses, but there were a couple fluky goals for NY as well.

So, here's my take: If you put 36 shots on goal with a goalie who gives up rebounds like the Easter bunny gives up jelly beans, you gotta take advantage. The Isles play stay home defense around the net because they know 2 things: Sorokin will give up rebounds and the Canes have net front.

Canes need to cycle quicker and rotate 2 guys to the front of the crease. If given the opportunity, shoot the damn puck. If there's a lane, shoot it.

Raanta needs the extra day of rest. And now, with a 3-2 series, does RBA go with Freddie, knowing he'll give up and easy 1 or 2 goals and hope the Canes can repeat their 5-goal performance? Or do they stick with Raanta on 2 days rest? Personally, I'm not sure how committed Andersen is to the organization at this point. He's a UFA and has lost the crease to his backup. Not sure myself, just throwing it out there.

I agree, Andersen has checked out, and Raanta needs to rest and reset, put the rookie in for game 6 and hope for the best

And don't forget Raanta ended his 0 for 7 playoff road win streak also

Raanta is the difference so far in the series, Canes are a good team when they get elite goalie play

Anderson is way to inconsistent and seems afraid to play in big games - if Raanta needs a rest I'd go with the rookie

Like the song not sure it fits. I know some of you might not like this but for the playoffs I’d like to hear this after each Canes score:

live in CT. when the whale was there, missed that team and the ole BB, eventually moved to Western NC and picked up the Canes games - fell in love all over again.

I think this is why we'll outlast them--and while it could be a long series, what I'm about to say manifested itself very early in the series you talked about previously.....

they play a similar wear you down style as us that is built for a playoff series but they do it 1 with worse players and 2 with worse possession numbers & worse special teams. we may have a different ceiling without Svech but I dont think this is the team that will be exploiting it.

Still scared of their goalie, one place they are much better than us. Hope Rod does the rotation of Raanta at home and Freddy on the road to start - if Freddy still looks shaky then just go with Raanta and hope for the best.

  7. yes, Pool Party looks like a clumsy oaf out there, he should throw his body around a lot more - it's the only asset he has

Ghost is ok, I'm amazed a how far down Pesce game has gotten

and last thing - does this team lead the league in missing the net, often with gaping holes

  8. Have to agree, looks like Anderson is reverting back to his bad showings in the playoffs when he was with Toronto, and the rookie is just not ready. Ranta is the best shot but I can't see him beating Boston, one leaky goal is enough to blow the game.
