If the defense can come together there might be some watchable games this year. The offense is basically that of an expansion team but not without some intriguing potential.

New players all over, new coaches all over, it might really be bad early. That is where the running game and especially some above average defense could keep us from stinking it up too bad.

I think the last 7 games are going to be a better representation of the team than early on. I don’t know the schedule late (probably division heavy) but the idea is just that things are starting to be comfortable for the OL, the young skill guys, etc.

WTF dude... have you been paying attention?!

  2. I for one am excited about pounding the ball. I only started watching football (Im a Canadian so give me a break) during the Fox era of football and only in 2004. So I fell in love with nothing more than pounding the ball and good defense. But I think that if we can establish the run AND also put BY in the best position to be a play maker we have a helluva a team.

Don't cut Sanders. We'll actually take a cap hit by doing so. We should try to trade him for picks or a player.

Honestly I dont want to cut him. He has been a good player int he league and when at his best is a CMClite.

I would rather wait and see what he does behind a good oline then straight out cut him.

I don't think I would have done what Atlanta did, but this was a very logical explanation for why they did it. You bring up a good point about Bryce. I think the team would be leery about moving on from Bryce if he struggles early. Doing so would indicate they made a bad decision and pretty much shatter his confidence.

And even if we did bench, Dalton is pretty much a C level backup at this point in his career. I actually would have considered taking Spencer Rattler in round 4 or 5. It would have brought in some legit competition and another live arm. We all know that Rattler could have completed a lot of the throws Bryce missed last year, he's already has an established connection with XL, and the offense wouldn't have been restricted to 10 yard passes and bubble screens.

I love to bash them for this move but its smart..

They have a team that can win the NFCS this year, but yet they are picking in the top 10 now.

Cousins contract is really only a 2 year deal. So Penix can sit and learn with no pressure for 2 years and in year 3 when Cousins guaranteed money is over they can plug in Penix.

If they were not in a position to win the South this year then I think this would have been bad trade, but its smart and they can afford it.

  5. Im really hoping that we sign him. I get we are not a playoff team, but we need to put the best product out on the field as possible. Because..

    1. Im tired of watching shitty football

    2. A good defense will also help put Bryce in a better position.

To me this year is all about Bryce and a good defense impacts play calling and therefore how Bryce is used.

Tremble was a pure projection pick based on his athletic profile who did very little in college. Ja’Tavion Sanders is probably a better receiver than him right out of the gate even though Tremble has had 3 years of NFL development. Sanders had over 3x the college production of Tremble and averaged over 15ypc with zero drops this past season. I think the comparison starts and ends with them both being Panthers draft picks.

yeah I get that... Im just saying Ive been hurt with wishful thinking lately with that position

The only difference is that Sanders is nothing like Thimps and Tremble. As a matter of fact he is twice the TE they are. That doesn't mean he will be anything at this level but the skill set is completely different.

Well Tremble was getting George Kittle comps when came out..

Im really excited to see what Sanders can do, but Im not holding my breath for a 4th round TE.

  8. Honestly I really like this draft.

I think my favorite pick is Brooks. Assuming he is what he was in college, we have a thicker version of CMC. This team has made it clear we want to run the ball and we are now set up to do that.

I know everyone is pumped about the Sanders pick up... Im hesitant about that because I felt that same way when we drafted Ian Thomas and again when we drafted Tremble.

Everything from 4th round down I think is just a shot in the dark, but I REALLY like pick 1 and 2 and think they instantly make the team better.

  9. Bryce comes off as a confident leader. He sheltered his team in the media over and over for their bad play, just saying that 'he needed to play better'.

Well gees kid, you had a terrible team around you.

Now we have a better team and I expect we will see better results.

I think we are going to have a lot of people posting "I was wrong about Bryce" threads this season.

  10. I enjoyed the listen. Ellis swearing at the beginning was funny.

A critique: The beginning seemed a bit disjointed as it seemed like you had a million thoughts all at the same time. Also the way you started about Canales but then was like I dont want to talk about his personal life was a little weird. I mean his book is no secret, so not sure if you were referring to that or not?
