I think a lot of us are hoping he will. It remains to be seen if there's a real upgrade on the current roster.

I think it's safe to say that Wilks is feeling more pressure than any Panthers' coach. Might be the #1 reason he was available for pick up last season. Nobody wants a slow CB. I'm hoping he prompts a lot of 'who IS that guy?' questions this season.

In two years Ginn is 33 and his current contract is done. He may be gone before then. I have to admit a fondness for UDFA's (as in underdogs) and there's 3 in that list.

Funchess not seeing minutes? He had 31 catches- same as Brown, with 26 more yds. and targeted 9 more times than Brown. Cotchery had similar numbers. Ginn and Olsen were the primary receivers of course, with more impressive numbers. Frankly I don't see your point regarding "only had 447 yards". There are only so many receptions to go around.

He came in with KB and Brown. The competition for a roster spot wasn't that stiff then, and then last season we were minus KB. I would really like to see us keep 6 WR's. I keep hoping Hill will pan out. 6'4" with that kind of speed don't grow on trees.

He said it once again in the latest presser. I already believed it. It doesn't make speculation much fun about which position we should draft for, especially at pick 30, but I kind of like the fact that they've got a plan and are sticking to it.

I'm certainly not comparing Henry to Brown. I'm thinking Henry is a bigger risk than guys like Butler or Ogbah. IMO Elliot is the only safe RB pick in the 1st, but at the same time I don't think Henry's size is necessarily a reason to cross him off your RB list.

He clearly has talent. If he becomes a consistent performer, he'll be a stalwart for our D. If he can wreak havoc anywhere close to his SB performance, then I think 'great' is a real possibility.

The thing is, the roster spot wasn't wasted. Like other marginal active guys who saw little playing time at their position, Wegher and others did have value on special teams. And what players on some team's practice squad would you have put on the roster in place of Wegher, or other bottom roster guys, that WOULD have seen significant playing time? Don't forget we weren't yet out of the salary cap hole that had been dug, and Gman's philosophy is to build a team that can sustain, vs. throwing all your money at this season or next season. It's a good bet that our overall talent level on the 53 will improve for next season though.

And that never happens to us on other boards. I never go to forums for other teams because I don't troll and have no interest in debating opposing fans. Fandom is usually an emotional thing and the knee jerk reaction of 'WTF are you doing on our forum?' isn't something I want to fight right off the bat. If you want to post here without trolling you'll get some good, civil responses. If you want to get your back up at every stone thrown your way because you're in enemy territory, then your skin is too thin for posting on other team sites, and your expectations are unreasonable.

True, but 14 teams (including the Panthers of course) have never won a Super Bowl, and 4 (Cleveland, Jacksonville, Detroit, and Houston) have never made it to the big game. So I can't work up much sympathy for Denver fans even if they get clobbered again on Sunday (and I certainly hope we kick their butts worse than Seattle did).
