We don’t need to look for reasons to bitch about Tepper on a normal day. But yep, people don’t like him much and are happier when he is out of sight out of mind. Currently he is just toxic. They are selling the new players to us. It is nice but means nothing really. What they do will determine if they are worth having.

The Carolina Panthers are hurtling towards threats of relocation
strato replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well they are all American women and they aren’t always the best experience for a man any more. It was always tough, seems a lot worse now. I have a friend that married a mail order basically from Latvia. She is nice, he has been happy for at least 5-6 years. Says she is like American women used to be. Sorry girls. It took me 30 years to find the one and then she died. FWIW I don’t need condolences it was a few years ago. But I’m done, she was irreplaceable. Wishing you luck with those Triangle girls. Find one that lets you be you, with no apologies. Hard to do but possible. -

You can revive your appreciation for Carolina females by going somewhere like Seattle in the summer. They’ll be many many pale and chubby females because they don’t wear too many bikinis up that way, and that means they don’t have to be in bikini shape. -

I grew up in the Hampton Roads area it was Redskins and even down into NC. The TV was Redskins viewing area. I can’t speak for westernmost Va. Baltimore isn’t far away from DC at all but not many Baltimore fans where I grew up. The closest other team was Atlanta. Of course, Dallas and Pittsburgh were everywhere and back then a lot of Raiders fans too. -

Virginia is Redskins... uh lol Commanders territory. I would bet Europe probably. Munich Panthers. London Panthers. Wherever Tepper wants to live they could make it happen considering the hard on the NFL has for going global. Hell he could go to Mexico City, Paris, Rome, Brussels, Zurich... -
How the Carolina Panthers found themselves in the worst situation

They know who they are looking for. They will think a certain way. Globally. edit: they are going to steal our game and make us watch soccar. That’s about half a joke. -
Still fighting the remnants of the old timers who were normally either Redskins, Cowboys, or Falcons from when the Carolinas were NFL No Man’s Land. Those are deep roots. I was a Johnny U fan when I was a kid. If Irsay hadn’t left Baltimore like he did I’d have had an issue when the Panthers came to life. I actually remember JR in his playing days with the Colts, fwiw btw snafu. And all the transplants make it tougher too

This is just stupid. If Tepper owned the team and they were in your backyard it wouldn’t be any different after 6 losing seasons. People would be pissed and it just wouldn’t be any different. This malaise is Tepper generated.

Looking at this from my perspective.. and I will spare you my litany of reasons for having this opinion, but for the most part you’d be paying $100 an hour for a baby sitter or security guard to protect the decent kids from the idiot bullies. Sorry. More trade schools fewer universities. Bring manufacturing back so people can work and feel like they are somebody. Teach them to do that and give them a way to be productive. That is where bigger money charity should focus, IMO. Tepper just wants the press.

If we had wanted to trade Norman we could have done pretty well better than a 5th in return. You know, the analytical path that just churns value upwards. Which, I’d like to see happen with QBs being taken late.

Should the Carolina Panthers extend Diontae Johnson?
strato replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
His arguments weren’t really clear, He said traded for Corral which he was a drafted player. Though we did trade up. = confused, unclear. Then there was the contention that had no gray area, he was franchise or bust - no in between. Which is really what is the most likely outcome. Maddening mediocrity. -
Hush your mouth.

If we could just get that loud extrovert you refer to, to actually walk off the cliff the world might have a chance to breathe.
-
That was so ridiculous. If you give the QB that misses high a higher target the ball will just miss higher.
-
Yeah I hear you man but this is not a litmus test for OUR character. All the sucking it up in the world won’t affect anything about that football team and the issue of a failed draft deal. The point is would you want to go back to that steakhouse? I mean, no you probably don’t. I don’t have to suck that up. I am free to lobby and critique as it moves me, same as you. I am saying I don’t the team to go back to a crappy steakhouse lol.

Honestly I think you are more sensitive to other people’s opinions a little more than I am in the sense that the lack of a tie and the disciplining that resulted didn’t make me think much besides someone was being an asshole. And I don’t care if other people don’t think that; it won’t really change how I view it. They are free to think it. WTF does CMC have to do with it? I am sorry I don’t get it. And I don’t see people talking about Darnold vs Cam the way you say. I really just think you might be looking and waiting for a chance to be taking some umbrage with stuff that seems to me is really fairly isolated and not reflective of how most of us think. Maybe you think we think that way? No offense really, I am just not seeing what you are seeing. If I say a criticism of a player I promise it is not motivated by some agenda other than football ands winning. Or losing wtf it is the Panthers. If that changes I will for sure preface what I say with my reasons for saying it. And I know what saying this stuff may lead to in terms of characterization language but I hope it doesn’t. -

Unfortunately for some people, that is how they think. It’s just football for most. -
It is sort of like, you go out and spend a lot for a fancy steak at a top spot and the service is slow and the steak isn’t cooked as you requested. It is a big letdown. The waiter still wants his tip, the government wants its tax, the joint wants its menu price. edit: I mean, you know the feeling, sucker. Feeling like you were taken.

Bry BrySIS? Really? Trying too hard man. I mean, I have said and heard some stupid poo people say trying to be funny. This is up there.

If they put Darnold in the same situation as they build for Young, and then add the pieces that are the difference in cost for the two and invest that back into the roster on top of what has been recently added? Ain’t a soul but Bryce Young hims-elf changing my mind about that. -

Exactly. Good poo is expensive. Any thing you do, if you want to outfit yourself for it, I don’t think you can go wrong doing the buy once pay once thing. If you are good at it and keep your eyes open you can find cheaper subsitutes that you may be equally happy with using but that takes know how. Getting quality out of the gate, paying once, is rarely a mistake. edit: so make sure about Brown. -
I see the point of that is phuck trading up to one for a QB. Too risky. Too expensive. Get good at figuring out what you need in a QB and find it elsewhere.

This is perspective and I think Canales’ dad was a shrink. His description of this lack of urgency which we see is ‘cold blooded’. Not excited just surgical. Also, the 1 of 11 while a smart way to go, is also a pretty big smoke job probably intended to take pressure off of the QB., But which is it? I don’t think we were looking at cold blooded killer last year. Maybe he can kill something, but he is up against a lot. I am going to have to defend him somewhat on the leadership though because it was his first season and his play was not strong enough for him to start putting people on notice or any talk at all. And his voice... and he looks like a kid. It would probably hurt him more than help him in to be rah rah in that situation. Just grind.
