I am cool with it creating outs, but not outright banning an individual from doing something.

You can't "ban" someone from doing something contractually. All you can do is create consequences for it within the framework of that contract. It's not like the Panthers could have the law show up and arrest him for riding a four wheeler because he's not allowed to in the contract. LOL

I don't agree with this mentality.

I understand the fear of injury situation, but you can't control people's lives like that.

You are only worked up because you are seeing it.  I imagine countless other athletes are doing risky stuff.  This wasn't even that bad.  He has a lot to risk too.  It's not like he is out there TRYING to get injured and ruin his career.  Calm down.

It's not a problem until it's a problem. Pro athletes have to be smart about the risks they take off the field. Non-football injuries create outs in contracts.

If you're in the left lane, look to the right. Is there someone beside you? Are you soon overtaking someone in the right lane immediately ahead of you? No and no? Then get the fug over. That's how it's supposed to work. Doesn't matter if you're going 100.

Yeah if Im running 70 in a 65 and your in my backseat Im locking my cruise control there and if you dont get the message Ill drop to the posted speed limit.

Im at or in excess of the posted speed and have no obligation to yield the lane.

Oh good grief, man. Stop with the semantics bullshit. You clearly made your statement in the flow of a conversation talking about lollygagging in the left lane.

You are just adding factors to the scenario to justify the tailgating

the scenario I presented didn’t have a pile of traffic that contained an ambulance with someone taking their last breath either

Okay. You can just pretend like you didn't admit to intentionally slowing down to impede traffic in the left hand lane.

Intentionally antagonizing someone who is driving aggressively is just living dumb.

  5. Are you in the left lane with cars piling up behind you? If yes, you're lollygagging. If it's an individual aggressive driver and you're actively passing while in the left lane then yes, that driver is being the asshole. Just use the left lane for passing the right lane for riding. It's really a pretty simple social contract. And intentionally hanging out or slowing down on the left lane just to flex your rights and show somebody who's boss makes you an asshole.

  6. Or just don't be an ass and hang out in the left lane. Just use common courtesy. The people who tailgate and be an ass are no better and its not a surprise that a lot of road rage incidents occur when inconsiderate people and assholes cross paths. Just make an effort not to be either. "Not allowing the bully to bully you" is also being an inconsiderate ass to the people behind the "bully" who would also like you to GTFO of the left lane.

Don’t be upset if you get smoked and cut.  Left lane is a passing lane… if I go 80 on 70 and someone rolls behind me, I yield. End of story.  If not, you get smoked.

These folks who barely crawl on left lane and when you try to pass em, they gun it.

It's these same type of "there's no law on the book to force me to be a decent person with some consideration for others so I'll drive like a selfish prick" people who are the first people to cry "road rage" when someone blows by them and offers them a one fingered salute. LOL

Yep, this checks out. Very on brand with how you've come across online.

Yea but when you're already going over the speed limit and passing other cars there are still many who drive up on your ass expecting you to go faster.  When I was younger I would match the speed of the driver next to me to piss them off

Looks like he took less money to go to Ravens. 1 year, $6M deal ($4M base, up to $2M in incentives). Sounds like we could’ve been one of the teams that offered more. Emphasis on the could of.

interesting to know we are looking to upgrade. Have to wonder if we will still look to do so and whether it will be cb or s or both.

The perks of being a respected organization that fields a contending team.

Isn’t the dispute over the guarantees? And not the actual contract amount? I believe it’s about a clause that would lessen the guaranteed amount if he was to be suspended.

All that really matters in NFL contracts are the guarantees. Everything else can disappear with the stroke of a pen to release you.

Honestly they should have just traded back.  The best they could do in a trade is probably a 2nd now

Yeah, they've really fuged this up. I still think something happened post-draft that made them regret taking him and now they're stuck between a rock and a hard place. You either give the guy the contract his draft status dictates or you trade him for whatever you can get. Those are really the only two choices you have.

Yea, I don't know why they are insisting this new clause to be be included. (well its money, its always money). Just the issue, or one of the big issues, is no other team is doing it. They are trying to start a trend..... guess what the team picked right after and before stewart didn't not have this clause in the contract and they have already signed. They totally look like the bad guy in all this and like I posted before, their rep is awful among agents.

Mike Brown uses his daughter negotiate contracts cause she took law courses. Look it up, many say if she is doing that, she is the GM... I bet you can not guess who the GM is....... save you some time, there isn't one.... so maybe it is the daughter....

Because they think he's gonna bust and they want to be able to wiggle out of the deal. Everyone knew he was boom or bust. I think something happened since the draft that makes them think he's a bust.

  14. Yeah, when you draft a guy you have to understand and realize you're going to be giving him a contract commensurate with that draft position. It is what it is. If you don't want to do that for anyone on the board, trade down. Hell, pull a Vikings and sit on your ass and let the time run out and the next team up pick. LOL! But don't draft the guy and then think you're going to get away with some contract shenanigans. Hell, his agent can't allow it looking out for his own interests. If Stewart was willing to sign a deal wildly out of step with the norm on a bad way his agent would probably tell him he's got a walk. If I want to sign future 1st round draft prospects I can't be a part of this.
