  1. We definitely don't. I'm just saying that we didn't when we were concentrating tons of resources into RBs either.
  2. We were? We had two winning seasons out of DeAngelo's eight with the team.
  3. Yep. It's the right move IMO. We have more depth at IOL and BC's skill set plays better at OT despite his measurables saying IOL.
  4. That's what I would've preferred but I doubt he was chomping at the bit to sign a multi-year relatively low level contract.
  5. I get that his measurables day IOL but his playing style and skill set say OT. I'd use him as a backup swing tackle.
  6. Bene got scapegoated for that game. Literally. I think we cut him like a day or two after that game. He looked really good as a rookie but then had an injury that I can't recall exactly what it was and was just never the same after that.
  7. Yeah, yanking the tag on Norman when he did after free agency was basically over caused him to go into the draft absolutely desperate and forced to just spam picks at CB simply to field a secondary. The end result was predictable. Man, I'll never forget Julio just streaking down the field wide ass open over and over and over again in that game. I honestly think he could've gone for 500 yards of the game had been competitive enough to justify them continuing to throw.
  8. Gamble is the best CB we ever had. Norman's 2015 season was the best single season by a DB we've ever had but overall Gamble's career here > J-No's career here.
  9. He shouldn't have a been a replacement, but a compliment. Norman was the only NFL caliber CB we had and Gettleman let him walk to win a dick measuring contest.
  10. I'll always despise Dave Gettleman for letting his ego get in the way of smart football business on that one. That fiasco absolutely sucked the air out of that locker room and pretty much tanked that season before it started.
  11. The existence of this post determined that was a lie. LOL
  12. What I'm specifically saying about KB is outside of the obvious top three he's the only other WR we've ever had who showed definite potential that he could be a long-term high level starter. Carrier was basically a Proehl/Thielen type. Solid player but we only got him in his twilight years.
  13. Fitz had a good day today. Not that worried about kicker to be honest. We have a rookie with upside and we have a vet with a lot of NFL experience. We'll be alright there. I'm gonna be paying a lot more attention to the young pass catchers, pass rushers, and Bryce. Those three areas will determine how good we can be.
  14. Our franchise #6 all-time receiver is a RB who suited up in 58 games over the course of 5 seasons. LOL There's two TEs and a RB in that top 6.
  15. Yeah, Smitty/Moose/Proehl is honestly the only legit high level WR corps we've ever fielded. Smitty is by far and away our GOAT WR, Moose is by far and away the #2, DJ Moore is easily the #3 and from there it just falls off a cliff. KB is the only other guy we've ever had who showed promise that he might be a long-term high level starter.
  16. Gimme some of this and I'll become a full throated believer
  17. Yep. I always thought we overdrafted and then overpaid Shaq but that's not on him. He was a solid player for us and seems like a good dude. Best of luck to him.
  18. Nice to hear Fitz is looking good kicking and I think everyone is rooting for Renfrow.
  19. We'll see what happens. I bet most of the 2nd rounders will get big guarantees and that percentage will continue to go up year after year and then it'll be the 3rd rounders up next.
  20. You're not even reading what I'm saying you're just ranting. It has everything to do with draft pick value vs. cap space impact. The agent knows he's holding significant draft capital over the GM's head vs. minimal cap impact. Not everyone is geared like Dave Gettleman where literally everything boils down to a dick measuring contest. History indicates the agents progressively whittle away and win the battle vs. the GMs on the rookie contracts. Hell, we have an owner throwing out typical 6th rounder guarantees at UDFAs just to secure them. He's not sweating pennies on the dollar against the cap or trying to protect his precious wallet. It's the one thing I do appreciate about Tepper. The man will spend to try to win. Being cheap hasn't been our issue.
  21. This is why they'll lose. The draft pick value is substantial vs. minimal cap impact.
  22. The ball keeps getting pushed down the field. Most of the 2nd rounders won't get full guarantees but they'll get a good chunk of the contract guaranteed. So let's say it's 75%. At the end of the day we're talking about a couple of million over the course of a four year deal. Basically a rounding error in terms of salary cap impact. It's much ado about nothing.
  23. Agents have been out-negotiating GMs for years. That's why they had to implement the rookie wage scale. Top drafted rookies were basically starting to walk into the NFL as some of the highest paid guys in the league. Take it up in the next CBA. In the meantime, it is what it is. Agents hold the upper hand in these rookie negotiations and they know it. The teams already have a significant unrecoverable investment spent on these draftees in the value of the pick that they spent. Given the rookie wage scale there's not much to negotiate other than guarantees and offset language and once again the agents are kicking the GMs' asses again.
