How is Legette better than Mingo & TMJ? There's a good chance he doesn't even beat them out in camp.
I sure as hell hope he's better than them. Hell, I wouldn't bet any money on TMJ being on the final roster.

Pretty wild for 6 QBs to go in the top 12 then zero from picks 13 though 100.
Definitely reinforces the notion that there was a huge drop off after the first six. I just thought we'd see a decent drop off after the first four. I figured Nix and Penix would go somewhere between the late first and the end of the second. Definitely didn't see either in the top half of the first.

Sanders or Stover at TE
Booker or Kamara at EDGE
Limmer at C
Franklin, Rice, Washington, or Walker at WR
Carson at CB

I don’t see evidence he’s THAT heavy handed. This seems like a process Dan and Fitt created together with the scouts based on their own preferences.
One thing is for sure. It’s definitely not coming from the coaches.
It's possible. But he's definitely heavy handed. Hell, he doesn't even try to hide it. He'll tell anyone who'll listen that he has veto power on these decisions.

That's a really good landing spot for Wilson. Pittsburgh knows LBs.

Man, what did Troy Franklin do wrong here. Guy has track speed and was ridiculous last season. Somebody is getting a deep threat steal with him
He's a definite possibility.

It's Tez Walker.

There went my RAS king. I'll have to revise my #101 prediction.

Wilson slide continues... What do you huddlers know that NFL GM's don't?
He's probably been red flagged by a lot of teams due to medicals. Understandably.

What does the acl have to do with anything? This isn’t 2005 and ACL rehab is nothing like an Achilles.
Tell that to KB. Yeah, ACL recovery has improved dramatically in recent years but it's still a major injury and not all guys bounce back from it.

Decision maker is just one part of it.
The entire process is the same. From RAS scores to chasing specific players.
Really discouraging that Dan still thinks this approach works.
I think you missed what I was getting at.
It's this guy.
He's either literally making the decisions or dominating the decision making process in terms of weighting the evaluation metrics because we're making the exact same types of picks.

Like Brooks and Chuba are different runners…interesting
So far the Brooks pick is our best draft pick. Let that sink in. A RB coming off an ACL is our best pick so far.

Rams just took a RB after Williams had a good year.
Very different runners. Corum will give them a much more physical runner to pair with Williams.

This honestly feels like another Fitterer draft. Probably because it might as well be. I don't think the decision maker has actually changed.

Payton Wilson is glass. I am a Pack fan. He gets hurt literally every game. In the league he will be on IR more than Horn. Trust. Love the guy, but it's just the reality.
He definitely has a very concerning injury history, that's for sure. He's a helluva player though. I'll give him that.

Wow, that is a surprise. Maybe they really are afraid of Peyton Wilson's injury history
Wilson or Gray are both significantly better LBs and I'm not just saying that because they're local prospects. I'm saying it because they're better LBs.

I fugg'n hate this scouting department!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You too can be a Carolina Panthers scout. Just look at our positions of need and see who has the highest RAS of the available players. That's your pick.

Did we meet with him? I can't remember any TE other than Wiley meeting with us.
Yes.

Cedric Gray was Carolina’s best defender by a mile. He is very talented
He's a good LB but being Carolina's best defender in recent years is kinda like being the best post-Cam Panthers QB. It ain't saying much.

I think it's gonna be Ja'Tavion Sanders. We're gonna try to do everything we can to give Bryce a fair evaluation this year.

2024 NFL Draft: Rounds 2 & 3
in Carolina Panthers

The rookie wage scale changed the risk/reward analysis big time. QB is by FAR the most valuable position. So if youu don't have a franchise QB and you think there's a guy on the board who might be able to develop into one and you're protected from having to pay him big money you almost have to take him. That combined with the league emphasizing offense with practically every rule tweak is why we're seeing guys who in years past would've probably been 2nd round picks going in the top half of the 1st.
