And if we do go 0-17, at least we have a 1st round pick again!

True, while I don’t see that happening. I think we’ll wind up in the bottom half of the league, but I don’t think we’ll be competing for the first overall pick.

This is about refusing to let your DC leave for other opportunities before gutting his unit.

How long do we need to wait before pointing that out?

They’re not obligated to let him leave. We also have no idea about the conversations behind closed doors. We are ignorant more often than we are informed. EE is touted as one of the brightest defensive minds in the NFL, why would you let him leave?

I imagine if he made it known he was unhappy and wanted to leave then he wouldn’t be here now. New regime isn’t going to force a malcontent to stay and I imagine he’s had quite a lot of input into what’s happened this offseason.

Still possible we sign a strong C or attack early in the draft. Its and AND for WR, FA and early in draft.

Lots of suitors for Higgins. That will be the test, does this team, like in the past overpay for guys or get the money matched well with the talent. If we can get Higgins for a second, then fair, anymore than that and should be a no. Feel like a TE is in the works too.

Beyond those I think we chase value everywhere else. Won't try to fix the defense till next year. Gonna be a bunch of shoot out games, that we mostly lose.

This year will be all about getting an offensive identity that can score points.

One exception, I could see us targeting NT. The quickest way to improve the defense is to quit getting gashed on the ground. Can fix that with a run stopper at LB and a big NT. Those guys can be had for reasonable compensation.

He’s old but has been the model of consistency, I’d love to pair Brown with Sheldon Richardson.

  4. So, wait and see what happens is just out of the question?

Good glory this place is a steaming pile of doom and gloom.

We’re one day, just one day into FA and people are acting as though we’re guaranteed to go 0-17 next season. I loathe Tepper, but let’s exercise some patience and let the offseason play out.

  5. I think we win more games than this year. I like what we're doing on offense and while I have my concerns about the defense we should remember that this is Day 1 of the tampering period. There's plenty of time to add pieces.

The fact of the matter is that they're starting off in a hole. They have to add talent to a roster with a lot of holes and not a ton of money. I think investing heavily in the line of scrimmage is the way to go.

Appreciate all the advice, just been frustrating because I can tell both churches aren't really eager to help him since he wasn't a member (despite 3-4 generations of us at each church). They are saving them for their current members I guess. Really give off "go away you didn't pay tithes here" vibes

Shouldn't have anything to do with tithes. Tithing is an Old Testament command, anyway. We have a small finance committee at my church and outside of them no one knows who gives what. The problem is more likely that many churches view salvation and, in most cases, local church membership as a life long covenant. The Universal Church, all those who are in Christ, will be raised up together at the consummation of the world. It's typically related to their view of the end times.

I hate it's been a challenge, it only further complicates an already tough situation.
