I personally wouldn't hire Payton but I'd have to respect it. It means he's going all out to win now. I'd take that over any upstart or project or hopeful. Our core players aren't college players not rookies, nobody has time for foolishness. Payton, Reich or fly to Michigan hat in hand and give the man who on credentials alone should have had the job the minute HE had his people reach out the keys. Another three years of a Dann Quinn or Rhule type adventure and the losing and embarrassment that comes with such hires isn't what loyal Panther fans deserve. Tepper needs to go out there and purchase us the best already made head coach possible. Let someone else spend the time, money and discipline and patience it takes to train up a brand new HC. Watching a guy struggle with clock management and other nuances of the executive position...

Damn, Tepper lost leverage with Payton. He needs to put his hat in hand and sincerely call Payton's old buddy Harbaugh back and offer HIM anything now since Sean and his people are talking this junk. It's Payton, Reich or bust. There's little doubt you can win with those two. Proof is in the pudding. This team can't afford an upstart failing again we have a young veteran core we now need a veteran HC. I like Wilks but all he proved is that Rhule had no business coaching in the NFL. They f'd up with Harbaugh who obviously wanted to be here. People are now dropping out. Payton is now elevated with each departure and so is the price. The loss column is filling up. Not getting Harbaugh or his man crush Payton would be another punch in the gut to a former longtime rival. Could that have been the play all along in coordination with NO? Snicker, snicker. At this point I'm so sick of seeing this franchise in the mud I'd take winning more games and competition in the playoffs over bottom feeding regardless of Superbowls, get back on track and stay there.

As some old men often say "I don't like what you're doing but I respect it". I think he's a great coach. He'll curb stomp other lesser coaches. I'm going to channel my inner Scot here and say I wish he'd behave himself while being dominant. Best hire this off-season IF Tepper can pull it off. He shunned perhaps the other potential best coach in football so I hope it works or....yay Wilksy!
