RB isn’t the least valued position. Center is. That’s what makes the point so hilarious. The further point is that you don’t need to draft centers high to “protect Bryce young,” I actually spoke to that point in my last post to you.

your concern is BUILDING THOSE HOG MOLLIES with big time investments that you can be proud of, but it’s a waste of money, a waste of draft capital, a wasted opportunity to get players who can add to your win total. ELITE ALL PRO CENTERS aren’t adding to your win total versus the good center you bought in free agency at a much more reasonable price than what you would’ve paid at every other position

RBs are valuable as drafted prospects in this spot BECAUSE they generally don’t get second contracts while still adding a player who can change the make up of your football team

This is one of the worst arguments I've ever seen on this board. Teams with the best offensive lines win, period.

Brooks won't have any more impact than Kareem Hunt would have if we just signed Hunt. Or if we just waited to the 4th to take MarShawn Lloyd

  2. Maybe they thought Frazier was too tall at 6'3"??

    Quote

Frazier is a four-year starter and three-time team captain who played center and guard at West Virginia. He was a four-time heavyweight wrestling champion in high school, and he's tough to beat once he locks onto defenders with his big hands. He has the quickness to reach and seal defenders on zone runs. Frazier has a nasty disposition and good finishing power. He gets set quickly, has a strong punch and anchors well in pass protection. -- Steve Muench

Idk, I would rather have that and then Benson in the 3rd if you reeeealy need a RB than what this bad alternative is.

  3. I just don't get this team. I honestly believe fans are better at picking than the team. Banging the drum for Frazier, we pass. And you just know center is going to be a problem this year and the team will make excuses.

Same with banging the drum for Creed Humphry a few years ago, and Trey Smith in the 6th round and we took a freaking longsnapper

  4. They will probably get their ILB or CB at 52, but damn the centers were right there. I pray Frazier lasts til 52 but he probably won't or will pass on him and then Corbett will be out for the season by Week 3 and Morgan and Co. will say "well, injuries were tough this year" as the excuse

  5. Charlie has DeJean and Kool-aid falling past the Panthers where they take a different corner, Missouri's Rakestraw. The huddle would explode.

If DeJean makes it to 39 you have to take him just because we need smart instinctive football players on the team and less "athletic beasts that hopefully you can mold into a football player" types.

  6. I'd say its more than likely the first 5 picks of the 2nd are already decided, teams usually call around and have feelers in spots like this

I just think its a huge mistake passing on a center when both JPJ and Frazier project to be 10 year starters from the get go. Especially when you have a QB like Bryce who relies so much on inside OL play

  7. Cooper or Frazier are my best gets. This will be Shaq's last year and Cooper is skilled enough to probably be starting by week 5 and lord knows we need linebackers who can cover the middle of the field

  8. Lots of good players left. No way we double dip at WR but the amount of good WR available will help our chances at getting a starter provided we stay at 39

S Cooper DeJean - probably not a fit here
    WR Adonai Mitchell
    CB Kool-Aid McKinstry
    ILB Edgerrin Cooper
    WR Ladd McConkey
    C Jackson Powers-Johnson
    C Zach Frazier
    ILB Payton Wilson
    WR Keon Coleman
    WR Malachi Corley
    EDGE Marshawn Kneeland
    CB Max Melton

History has proven the Panthers front office know more than the Bills... oh wait nvm

Bills have actually drafted very badly aside from lucking into Josh Allen..its why they are in the position they are in

  10. History says 3 out of the top 5 QB's taken will bust and definitely one of the top 3. If you're Minnesota would you rather have JJ McCarthy and lose 2 other firsts or Nix and have 2 extra firsts? Makes no sense to me

you ever heard of cooper kupp?

And? So they hit only Kupp and Nacua out of all the WR's they drafted in the last 10 years? So did we I guess? (Moore and Benjamin before he gave up his 4th year in the L) Doesn't change my stance that scouting and drafting WR's are heavily based on getting lucky.

The only teams that you could say are above average at drafting WR talent are the Seahawks and Steelers, and even then they draft plenty of busts as well. (Sammie Coates, James Washington, Chase Claypool to name a few recently)

  12. Drafting a WR is a total crapshoot and based on luck. 1 in 5 work out. No amount of NFL Scouting or a talented front office can change that. The Rams got lucky with Puka Nacua, its not like they are elite in scouting and better than everyone else. I mean they just took Tutu Atwell in the 2nd and Jacob Harris in the 4th and both likely won't be reupped when their contracts run out.

Same with QB's. Its why there doesn't need to be so much freaking time between the SB and the NFL Draft. You could hold the NFL Draft at the end of March and teams don't know any more poo than they do now.

think your confusing jags for franchise or game changing players. What did Mingo or ISM do last year to show you they can elevate bryce young to be on par with Stroud or even Richardson for that matter? Nothing..  you can't go into the season saying hey we got ISM and Mingo we are ready to roll.

no one in that room is good enough reason for us not to draft 2 good WRs from this class who could be long term contributors.

No room? We have the league’s worst offense We got zero long term offensive skill position players on the roster.  We have a huge investment we are trying to save at QB.  Fixing the O should be priority 1, 2 and 3.

Mingo and ISM combined for 450 yards and no TDs.  And there is no guarantee they are better next year.

the highlights to our roster are a WR that can’t run and had really bad per touch production we forced the ball to and a disgruntled WR the rest of the league didn’t want…..whose former team has a track record of getting rid of dudes who fall off a cliff after doing so.

    we got room

I'm well aware of our sucky pass catchers. I should have clarified. No room to develop two rookies along with trying to develop Mingo and ISM. No way we keep three first and second year receivers on the active roster and expect them to produce. Now maybe a flyer on someone in the 5th or later, but double dipping in the 2nd is stupid and it means you are giving up on Mingo basically who we just drafted with a high 2nd last year.
